I really wish I would have seen these reviews before I hired Rich
he was very sloppy & unprofessional… he shows up late & takes all day to do an install that would take a legitimate company 3 hrs
he doesnt listen to my needs & what i wanted & he goes ahead & does what he wants to do
the dell pc system he hooked up is a piece of crap & keeps shutting for some reason & the software that he installed is so hard to use its virtually worthless
I have tried calling this jerk several times & he hasnt returned any of my calls & the funny thing is that he kept telling me what wonderful customer service he has
I really dont understand how this guy is still in business
I have filed a complaint w/​the better business bureau
dont make me mistake… do not hire this guy

This guy is a JOKE. Complete POS!!!
He started installed a camera system for me and never came back to finish it. Scammed me for $ 3300.

Rare as a one-​star rating is for me to write, this is a time when I actually encountered a company that deserves a NO STAR rating (if Unilocal made it available). I couldn’t be more disgusted with this (lack of) service operation. Admittedly they quoted a reasonable price for the work — sucking us in. They did NOT finish the project they contracted for –but got our money.

This guy is a criminal. Stay away!
Rick took a $ 2000 camera deposit and stopped coming to work or returning phone calls. Wrote a series of EXTREMELY unprofessional/​hostile emails to the General Contractor and myself after repeated voicemails were left for him to finish contracted work. Custom Security has stolen money and left our home damaged.
His email response back within 24 hours.

Enjoy this gem managing your security should you hire Custom Security or Rick Shelton out of Concord.

Mr. Shelton (owner) had finished installing a new surveillance system which consisted of 8 «Sony» outdoor cameras and a Dell computer system. Soon after completion of the surveillance system the cameras would flicker and would go on and off by themselves. When the cameras would go off the camera would show nothing but a black screen on the monitor. When these issues starting happening I contacted Mr. Shelton numerous of times but I received no response. Mr. Shelton had claimed that the system came with a 1 year warranty on the parts and 6 months on the labor. Mr. Shelton had also claimed that he sold us «Sony» cameras, but these cameras have no indication that they were made by Sony. Just recently the computer monitor screen that came with the surveillance system does not work either, the power button will just flash and the screen would just stay black. He is selling defective SURVELLIENCE systems.
DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING OR GET ANYTHING INSTALLED FROM THIS GUY!
