Purchased the chicken ranchero burrito the last three times in the drive thru and each time it had no taste. There was no ranchero sauce at all. The first time I ordered the burrito it was tasty but lately they apparently don’t put any ranchero sauce at all. They should just call it plain chicken burrito because it’s false advertising. This is the last time I will be going there.

Came for dinner tonight with my husband and two small boys. Restaurant was clean and spacious. Ordering was a bit difficult due to a language barrier, but friendly and polite. The pollo bowls that we ordered off of the kids menu were really wet. Liquid was dripping from the fork. Despite the wetness they were kid approved. My husband ordered chicken with coleslaw. The avocado was old and his salsa was super runny. I ordered the tostada chicken bowl with creamy cilantro which was super yummy. Towards the end of the meal our baby spilled an entire drink on the table. My husband asked for towel three times. Either they didn’t understand due to a language barrier or they didn’t care. We’ve had better experiences at this store, but will give it a three today.

This place sucks. I suggest going to an authentic Mexican restaurant where you can get quality Mexican food and not overpay for it. Not only that, the customer service is just awful. They all seem like they hate their lives and they just take it out on every customer. Like c’mon man, smile… But I guess I’d have a crappy attitude too if I worked at El Pollo Loco and the only discount I got was on dry burritos and watery salsa.

We were big fans of El Pollo Loco when we lived in SoCal. It was delicious and dependable. Here, not so much. The chicken has a gray tinge & tastes like it’s been boiled or steamed, and the skin was soft — not at all crispy. We ended up throwing away most of the chicken because it was disgusting and inedible. Weirdly, several of the tacos that came with the meal were cut in half. The slaw was just okay, and the beans were tasteless. The salsa consisted of mushy, bland tomatoes. What a waste of money. Also, the chicken thighs were butchered to include parts of the chicken back, obviously in an attempt to make this gray meat look like a bigger serving. My friend had to remove shards of bone from his mouth due to the sloppy butchering. I’m surprised someone hasn’t been injured from these sharp little shards of bone. Not cool at all.

The worst food I have ever tasted!!! Shrimp tacos… soggy corn tortilla and too much salt… disgusting flavor! Also bought a large(joke) guacamole which was a runny shlop and threw it in garbage. What happened the guacamole used to be great! Thick and chunky now it’s like an avocado ran through it! I won’t ever be back here!

Al buen entendedor pocas palabras: El mejor pollo. El real sabor mexicano del pollo estilo Sinaloa. La salsa de pico de gallo excelente. Economico y rico.

We just moved to the area and I’ve been driving past this place everyday since moving here. My wife and I decided to give it a try. So we stopped in here as it was around dinner time. It wasn’t really that busy maybe 30% full so plenty of space however it wasn’t very clean, empty tables still had trays, food and napkins over them. There was a young man walking around talking to himself just sweeping the floor but not clearing the tables. The gentleman who served us was rude and didn’t speak clearly, for some reason he kept jumping to Spanish which is rude. I’m ordering in English I don’t speak Spanish and it’s not that I won’t get around to learning it but if I order in English is like a reply in English. The women next to him was just standing there starring, not sure if it was my accent(from England). But as we waited the women didn’t stop starring and it made me feel uncomfortable. When the food was done we we’re disappointed the sides were tiny and the chicken was just greasy. Their little cart in the middle of the floor where the sauces and chillies are had flies and issued tissues left around it, very unhygienic. So even though my wife’s chicken was greasy my burrito was very tasty and just the right mix of lettuce and meat. Other than that we would never go back to this location.

Don’t even bother. Drive thru service is terrible and slow, inside isn’t much better. The food isn’t all that great. There’s definitely better Mexican food close by and quicker to get too. Spent a solid 15 minutes in the drive thru with only two cars ahead of me that didn’t seem to order all that much. Bye El Pollo Loco

I love El Pollo Loco. Great Chicken and salsas! I was there recently and the chicken is always fresh, the service is friendly and they have a wonderful selection of salsas!

I have never stepped foot inside an EPL before last week. I don’t know how that has happened, but I’m so glad I walked into this location close to home and ordered myself a crunchy taco! Husband had one too($ 2 each). We also each ordered chips after seeing the awesome salsa bar. Spicy green salsa and a hot red salsa were both fresh and delicious. The taco was also really good — and the place was clean and service was beyond friendly. An employee came up to us offering a tray of jalapeño hot sauce packets, salt, mints, etc! So awesome. Another one diligently cleaned a nearby table(and used a cleaning spray that wasn’t at all offensive as we ate our food — no crazy chemical smells — just delicious taco aroma). I’ll definitely be back in here. Next time I’ll probably substitute avocado for the chicken in my taco, which is their option to make it a vegetarian taco.(They also serve dairy/meat-free tacos on request for vegans).

Menu keeps declining!!! I wanted nachos. I was told they do t make nachos anymore. However they have chips, cheese and all the makings in the building. Makes no sense!!! Never spending a dime there again!

I don’t often get to visit El Pollo Locos as they are few and far between in my area, but out of the two locations near me, being the Pittsburg and Concord locations, have to say that this one is my preference. And here is my review to tell you why… As compared to the the Pittsburg location, the customer service and the attention to cleanliness and detail is always on point. You always see an associate cleaning and wiping down the tables and counters and makimg sure the salsa bar is full. Although when ordering food sometimes there is certainly a language barrier, but I don’t hold it against anyone. But the main topic about this review is the food and now I will speak on that. I like the chicken at El Pollo Loco a lot. Its nice to have a place where you can get chicken this flavorful and its not coated in a blend of «12 herbs» and spices and or double battered to be extra crispy. Nothing wrong with the compitition, but the latin marinated style of chicken here at El Pollo Loco brings a new flair and new taste that most chicken eaters aren’t use too. Citrus in their marinade and the flame grill process here which they seem to have down to a «T» and is quite refreshing just makes eating here a delight. Their cooking process keeps the chicken juicy which I like and feel they have an edge when I think about the pittsburg location when it comes which tends to dry out their chicken. In conclusion, If you like chicken and don’t want to just stick to the normal«chicken joint» chicken then come to El Pollo Loco, especially this location. If you like it, Unilocal about it!

I ordered drive thru on August 3, 2015 at around 9:30pm. The lady taking my order through the intercom made me repeat my order about 5 times because she was totally distracted. That’s fine, I understand it can be a little hectic. The worst part was when she dropped my broccoli on the counter then proceeded to pick it up with a piece of plastic and served it to me… gross!!! Why couldn’t she just throw it away?!?

4STARS as I am a fan, I just drove 20miles round trip to satisfy our craving for El Pollo Loco chicken. We love the 10piece ALLDARK special. Great flavor, juicy pieces. Great even after reheating in the microwave. Thigh pieces are good size, but the legs were on the small side. 2 legs should = 1 serving I wanted to give them a little extra business, so I ordered a Mango Avocado chicken salad, I won’t do that again — not worth the price

Surprisingly good for fast food. Recently moved here from out of state and found this place. This is the kind of Mexican food that I missed.

Consistently good tasting, fresh food. Something that I didn’t fully appreciate until recently(some bad Popeye’s experiences, I’ll say no more). A little mexican spin on the fast food chicken theme. Kicks it up a notch IMO. They used to include Foster’s Freeze dessert items(shakes, sundaes etc.) but no more. My one issue is that they seem to change the menu often which is disappointing if they remove something that has become a favorite. I guess if something isn’t selling like loco crazy it might disappear. One example was what I think was called the Baja Burrito. Was my fave but no longer available.

This was so, so bad. I usually go there for the soup, which is great. I branched out and got a double wet chicken burrito. It is awful. I’m super bummed bc I was hoping to make 2 meals out of this and now I just want to throw it away. I live 4 miles from the store. Got home in about 8 min and it was ICE cold. I had to nuke it. There was nothing good in the burrito, just large, cold chunks of chicken. I feel like I just wasted $ 7 and that feels terrible! I’m going with 2 stars bc I did also get the soup and it was good.

I got their new pork carnitas wet burrito this afternoon and it’s very good; I just got the burrito($ 6.39 + tax); the rice, beans and the taste of spice was great; the pork had a hint of «porky» taste that I’m not that keen on but other then that it was wrapped in a wonderful tortilla covered with medium hot sauce.

Embarrassed at how many years I loyally devoted to Taco Bell with this place right down the street! I was so blind, El Pollo Loco — thank you for showing me the light. Prices here are no worse than any other fast food place. 2 Chicken-Avocado Tacos, chips, and a Coke was $ 7 regular, $ 5 with a coupon I had from junk mail(it’s worth looking through that pile of crap before you throw it out!). The back kitchen has a huge grill with what looks like at least 50 chickens on it at any given time. The place smells amazing, and all the ingredients are fresh. I don’t think they’ve invented synthetic avocados yet, so it’s pretty likely you’re getting the real deal. Solid salsa bar, clean, and major thumbs up for employing people of all abilities — the kid that went around offering people salsa packs was really sweet and friendly. :-) Great to have a reliable Mexican place in town — never thought I’d enjoy this chain!

Their stuffed Quesadillas are where it’s at! I have visited El Pollo Loco several times over the last few months and continue to be all the more impressed. Certainly a step up from your standard fast food chain, especially in comparison to Taco Bell. The ingredients are more fresh, quality and overall more satisfying. Service also seems to have stepped it up a bit too. Definitely will continue to make this my go-to-fast food-mexican spot.
