Joe replaced the tuning machines on my Maestro mandolin (it’s a solid wood learner Mandolin made by Gibson partners in China).
It had terrible tuning machines! Worst ever — seriously.
I asked Joe to replace them with some Grovers and he managed to make them work :)
He also performed a tuneup-​setup on it as well.
Great job! Sounds great, stays in tune, and I can actually turn the tuning machines.

Had stainless steel frets put into my Washburn Culprit. Excellent work! Came out great! I will definitely have Joe work on all of my guitars!!! Text him if you need to get a hold of him. Its much eaiser. He always responds.

Joe is great! I have had almost everything done to a guitar by Joe and it’s all been top notch. Every guitar I own has a custom bone nut cut by Joe and as for his soldering, it has never failed me so I’m not sure what that’s about.

Excellent, excellent work! The volume pot on my guitar decided to go out just before leaving for tour, and Joe was the only available tech in this area with the necessary parts to get it repaired. Quick response for the short notice, and had the job done within 20 minutes, and now my guitar is working good as new! I plan on referencing Joe to anyone in the East Bay in need of guitar/​amp repairs!

This was my first time ever with a luthier. Joe took time to explain things thoroughly to me in terms that I could actually understand. I had an acoustic and an electric that needed work. If a guy does a great job at a fair price, everything is ok, right? I highly recommend this craftsman.

I needed to have some work done on my Les Paul and was referred to Joe by a guitar shop in Pleasant Hill. He said «take it over to Joe, he’ll fix this thing up like a pro.» That was an understatement.
I had Joe install some new pickups (which sound amazing, by the way) and he did an absolute amazing job. His work is very clean. I’ve seen other guitar techs do sloppy work… Not Joe. He even took the time to set the guitar up properly (something I alluded to but never actually asked him to do. He just did it because it needed it).
His pricing is pretty darn reasonable. Oh yeah, and he’s a nice guy too.
If you are anywhere in the Bay Area and need work done on your guitar, Joe is your guy. Highly recommended.

I called and left Joe a message after business hours one evening and he returned my call the next morning. I had just purchased what I was told was a MIM Fender Strat and before I had work done to it, I wanted to have a pro take a look at it so we can verify it’s authenticity.
Joe was very proffesional and friendly over the phone in answering all of my questions, and just so in person as well. He took his time in looking over the guitar, listened to all of my concerns, and was very honest in his feedback. I verified through Joe and through Fender that I’d bought a bogus guitar, and instead of misleading me to make a profit, Joe told me the truth and saved me a lot of frustration and money!
He is my guitar guy from now on. He definitely knows his stuff very well and provides a spectacular one on one experience rather than a big store atmosphere. Thank you very much Joe Webb.
