Lous Custom Exhaust

Brought my car in to have the cat replaced due to high mileage on the car and cat. Jim I think is the owner’s name. Friendly dude, good location. They deal with decent vendors for aftermarket parts, seem to know their shit. I hate doing exhaust work, otherwise I work on my own vehicles. The weld job was done right, but 2 months later I had to bring it back in because the gasket going to the manifold failed. In my opinion, this should have been recommended to be replaced when the cat was replaced to avoid a return trip and a missed day of work. I feel like sometimes they rush a job to make a quick dollar and get you out as quickly as possible. 5 months later the downpipe gasket to manifold bolts «snapped» and I had to pay another $ 100 to get those replaced. Total trips to this place were 3 in the course of 8 months, and total cost to me was about $ 600. Still reasonable but the 2^nd two trips could have been avoided; the 3^rd should have been covered by some kind of warranty. I’ve been working on cars for 20+ years and never had a stock downpipe bolt «snap» on me. Maybe I should have ordered OEM parts and had them install those. Also, they kept my cat, which is an easy $ 100 in scrap for them. Next time I will request the old cat to be placed in the trunk so I can scrap it myself. They are better than any Meineke or huge chain for custom jobs all day long, but some things could be fine tuned. Also there is no receptionist which I feel is cutting corners on their part. Last but not least, comfy couch and cable TV available if you want to wait, but don’t count on A/​C in the summer or much heat in the winter.

I went here awhile ago when they were back on Integra Dr. had them weld some mufflers onto my car it took less then a year for the welds to fatigue and the mufflers to rust from there on up. What should have been a quick easy cut and weld took them almost 2 hours. I would not reccomend this shop to anyone who cares about their cars longevity.

I wanted my 2013 Dodge Charger to have the classic muscle car rumble and boy did Lou’s deliver! The best part is their work is clean and they turned it around quickly. Highly recommend for custom exhaust!
