Carl Mattingly and his son are hard working, honest, and fair. All qualities that are so difficult to find in contractors. You will not be disappointed in their work. Highly recommend!

Carl and his son just refinished our very old original Red Oak floors (living room, dining room, hallway, & stairs). Believing that the floors were truly beyond repair, we had considered installing new floors at 2 times the cost of refinishing. We are SO happy with our decision to refinish. Not only did Carl and his son do a great job, their work ethic and friendly manner is sadly hard to find in contractors these days. He always arrived early, stayed late, and as a stay-​at-​home mom I can honestly say that he was working diligently. The project was completed within the stated time frame and my house was IMMACULATE when he left (no dust or mess). You will not be disappointed with Mattingly & Sons Flooring!

When we moved into our home, we knew there was hardwood under the carpet but unfortunately several smaller sections had water damage in the typical places near the bathroom and sliders and unfortunately previous owners had removed some of it in the entry with tile. We interviewed several different wood refinishers and decided to go with mattingly and sons. We were sure glad we did! They brought our top nail oak back to life and painstakingly pieced in wood where the water damage had occurred and you would never be able to tell the old from the new.
They were great, on time, and delivered exactly what they promised beautiful hardwood floors that still look great a couple years later. I would absolutely suggest them to my friends and family

Backstory: fiancé and I had just closed on our first home and were set to move in within a week or so. While looking under the old carpets, we discovered that we had pretty nice, original hardwood. It needed lots of work, but it was there.
We decided we wanted to have our floors refinished before we moved in, if possible. We contacted a few vendors to see if they could squeeze us in to their calendars, but settled with these guys.
Let me just say — Carl Mattingly was AWESOME. He was incredibly accommodating and understanding of our situation and timeline, gave us a thorough briefing as to what to expect, and provided us with a detailed quote. Simply put: we knew what we were getting ourselves into, no surprises.
Over the next 5 days or so, he and his son completely transformed our floors. They are now BEAUTIFUL. We love our new home!

These guys really know their business. Carl had solutions to solve my flooring problems in light of my 3 dogs & 1 cat… and no, it wasn’t «take them to the pound». He introduced me to Amtico flooring and I love it: the look of hardwood without the vulnerability & maintenance. He has also done floors for me in my office building and 5 years later the floors still look brand new. The Mattingly’s are a great team, polite, professional, and skilled.
