So a few weeks back I contacted Kirk from Quick Action Movers in regards to a small move I was making(one bedroom to a studio apartment). I sent him a detailed description of my items/furniture as well as pictures. I wanted to get it done for the cheapest cost and I told him I would help him myself and he didn’t need to bring another guy. After looking and my pictures and description he agreed to do it for $ 125. I confirmed with him the date and time(the price was already set) at least 2 times. The last being 3 days before the move date. Each time he told me he would be there and there was no problem. Took down my address and everything. The evening before the move day he calls me and tells me that after looking at my pictures and thinking about it, I have a lot of stuff and nobody would do this move for less than $ 350. I asked him why are you telling me this right before the move date, you’re leaving me stuck the day before you agreed to do the move. He then tells me «hey, it’s better than not showing up right?» I started asking him why he would wait until the last minute to tell me this instead of weeks ago. He hung up on me. Incredibly unprofessional and super shady trying to force me to pay more money due to his last minute change in price. I went with plan B and got a U-Haul and had a buddy help me. Avoid this company and Kirk at all costs.

I received a message on my phone recently that Kirk tried to discredit my review of May 2013. Not happening Kirk! What you need to know is I ONLY do honest reviews. I am extremely disappointed in the serious lack of good customer service anywhere I go any more. I don’t go to Unilocal with the usual BAD service that has become the norm. I only go to Unilocal to warn my fellow good service seeking citizens of the worst of the worst out there. That’s you buddy. Bottom Line: You didn’t call and you didn’t show up!!! Next Bottom Line: You told me it was MY problem. My WARNING to individuals and families that seek good, reliable, honest service for their money, not to mention a company trustworthy enough to actually SHOWUP, on moving day still STANDS. I see you pulled the same BS to a much lesser degree with Perry C. Please note: NOSTARS is my vote!

WWJD I am mixed on this review, and actually they would have received 5 stars but there were a couple of hiccups — first the good They arrive early, the move was from Pittsburg to Vallejo, I had the 17′ truck ready to go and plenty of dollies, every kind you can think of, but it turned out they brought their own. Kirk and his two guys did a really good job of packing it up and unloading it, filling the 17′ and unloading it in 3 hours and nothing got damaged. I know they were cursing me when they had to take the elliptical upstairs, because I know I would have in my head if I was them One of the downfalls was the one of the workers wasn’t really too happy with Kirk, getting irritated because of the work environment and actually I can’t blame him, but he could at least kept his thoughts to himself instead of voicing it to a customer. The reason I couldn’t blame him was that I never knew that movers could be micro managed, but that was definitely the case here. Kirk has been doing this for about 25 years and his other two helpers over 30 between the two of them. He kept on telling them how to lift, walk, pack everything. I know that after a few moves having someone constantly trying to tell me how do something I have been doing for 17 years it would get pretty old. If you feel you need to tell your guys how to do a job, maybe either just let them do it or just hire someone else. One other problem is that I have a Big Green Egg and when they brought it over to the new place they didn’t put it back on the stand like it should have been. With me having a bad back I could not lift it and had to ask one of my neighbors that I just met to help me. Now the reason why the top title. So its been a week and the day of the move my tie down straps were missing(the one’s you get at home depot for $ 14). I was hoping that they would call me and let me know that they accidently took them and would return them — no such luck. So I call Kirk yesterday and it would have been nice if once I told him who I was that he would have said«he man, I have been really busy and meant to call you about your straps» but instead I got«what do you want?» — I ask him about my straps and he said that he has them in a bag. he was really distracted — no «hey I will call you and we can meet or I can drop them off at your place» but just kind of hanging up and noting further — that was yesterday. The reason for the WWJD is because one of the helpers is a pastor, the other one is supposedly studying to become one and Kirk constantly praising god and all that. So personally when I ask WWJD? First off he was a carpenter and wouldn’t help me move, but if he was a mover then I am guessing he would have done the right thing and contacted me as soon as he realized he had my stuff or even every time they have to move the bag full of straps around in the car he would have said«oh shit, I need to call Perry». But that didn’t happen. So Kirk, you can keep the straps, I needed them yesterday and bought a new set.
