Great family, Aaron remembered us from last year and we hadn’t even bought a kayak. He’s friendly & knowledgeable. There is another kayak/canoe rental and sales place a few miles away, but they don’t seem as nice.

This is an awesome family run business where customer service is first and foremost. You park there and they drive you up river so you can kayak down to your car. I would suggest packing a cooler with lunch so you can stop mid-way to drag out the trip and enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery. My only ‘complaint’ is I wish there was option to go further up the river for a longer trip.

If you’re looking for a fun, pretty stretch of river and need to rent your kayak, this place has a good location, shuttle service, and prices and equipment on par with what i have seen at other kayak rental places. The reason I take away 2 stars is for the service. We went with a group of 10 people. 6 rented and 4 had their own kayaks. Everything went ok until the end of the trip when we pulled out of the river. There was a sign posted there that said $ 5 to pull your boat out there– private property. I can understand them not wanting a million people pulling out there, but the majority of our group did rent from them. The owner rudely told us we needed to pay to land, and when we said no one had told us that, he rudely answered«No one asked.» Well, why would we ask that? There are so many other nicer ways he could have answered. So it kinda pissed us off. But we reluctantly went into the shop to pay the fee anyway. There was no one in there, so we rang the bell, but no one came. So we wrote a note, clipped on our fee and left. Then the kicker is, the owner called one of our friends who had rented, and threatened to charge HER credit card because we didn’t pay! We called him immediately and said we left our fee, and he said«oh ok I see it now.» So everything worked out, but it was a sour end to an otherwise nice day on the river. In the future, now that we know, you can land your boat for free right before Quickwater at a public beach, where the NH Park and Ride is. One of the best things about owning your own kayak– you don’t have to deal with the kind of d*bags that always seem to own the rental places.
