Went here for the first time after passing by it many times over the years. Ruben did a great job!!! its nice to have someone genuinely care about cutting your hair. Not just a hair cutting factory. This is my new go to spot!!!

My husband went this morning to get a hair cut… and it was awful, uneven, can’t believe they let him walk out of the shop. I sent him to another barber shop called Main Event off of Concord Blvd. … and they fixed it ! Someone must of had an off morning.

Friendly, skilled barbers, an old fashioned barber shop, no frills, fair and reasonable prices. I especially like Rick, a guy who will really listen to what you have to say and offer friendly feedback.

When I’m looking for a new barber shop I usually look through the window to see what kind of clientelle they have. I’ve been here twice, and both times I was the youngest guy there by at least 15 years. In my experience, seeing a more diverse age range is the mark of a good barber shop. Both times I’ve been here there were a bunch of 50+ year old guys most likely getting the same cut they have for 30 years.
I don’t know what the barber’s names are, but they both gave me pretty much the same cut. It seems like they have two modes: clipper cut or scissor cut. If you ask for either you will get one of two styles. It’s ok if you were in the military or were living in the 50’s, but i prefer a little more customization. I’d go back here in a pinch, but I’m not going to make this my regular spot.

What I like most about Ruben’s, frankly, is that they open at 7:00 on Saturday mornings. I’m an early riser and when I need to get a haircut, I like being able to get it out of the way so I can get on with my weekend.
It’s a traditional barber shop – clean, basic, nothing fancy. The barbers are Ruben and Rick. Ruben usually cuts my hair and my wife likes the way he cuts it, so I’m doubly happy.
The price is a reasonable $ 15. Nick says go there and come out looking sharp!
