One of 3 candy stores in Concord Mills, this place is just like any other self serve candy shop. Walk in, grab a bag, scoop your goodies and throw them on the scale. The selection is decent but the displays are minimal. I’ve never walked in and not seen the staff members playing of their phones or talking on the store phone. I’ve even been checked out by an employee that was on the phone the entire time. You’re probably wondering what keeps me coming back… The candy, of course! It’s not the kind of place you visit for the service. If you want candy, go get some candy! I have an unhealthy addiction to chocolate covered gummy bears and I make the trek into this little sweet shop once or twice a week. Just around the corner is Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. I sometimes go there but they are a bit more expensive. I usually hit Sweets From Heaven first but sometimes the owner mixes the bears. If that’s the case, I’ll pay more for the bears I want at Rocky Mountain. Mixed bears? Allow me to explain. If you’ve never had a chocolate covered gummy bear, you’re missing out on something truly amazing! It’s essentially just chewy chocolate! The gummy bears aren’t flavored so if you imagine a lime flavored bear dipped in chocolate, you’ve got the wrong idea. It’s just a plain bear coated in milk chocolate. Simply delicious! The freshness factor plays a huge difference in the taste. Anyhow, there are flavored bears dipped in chocolate. They are larger in size and usually raspberry in flavor. Similar to the raspberry jelly rings. These aren’t very good and the owner of this little candy shop doesn’t know the difference. They are at times mixed together in the bin and when they are I won’t buy them. If you have any interest in trying CGB’s make sure you are purchasing bears the size of a normal gummy bear. If they are larger, you’ve got yourself a bear shaped raspberry ring. Bleh! Now that you’ve been properly bear educated, get your sweet tooth on at Sweets From Heaven. It’s just candy. It’s not rocket science.

Say what? A store that is nothing but candy as far as the eye can see(well, it is a small store, but you get what I mean)… all inside a mall that is otherwise perhaps a bit mundane? Yes, please. While most of the treats you will find here are of the everyday variety, there are some that may surprise you. Sure, you have your candy-covered chocolates sorted by color that you would expect to find. But you also have some sugar-free confections(are they really confections if there is no sugar within?), which is great for those who are trying to cut down on the sugar from their diet. Naturally this section is smaller than the rest, but at least it is there, right? Most, if not all, of the store is priced by the pound, so you just go on, select what you want and stroll up to the scale, much like the ubiquitous frozen yogurt shops. Then pay the piper. Or the cashier.
