Coach George knows how to coach foil. He had excellent coaching skill with foot work which is fundamental to all sport. My son fencing skill improves as a result to his coaching.

I have been going to Swordplay for 3 months now. One month as a beginner and two in the intermediate class. George is a great coach. Very approachable, funny guy. He’s very supportive but also knows how to be firm to help you work to your best ability. He is a history and movie buff and will sometimes reference facts and trivia during the lesson which makes it that much more enjoyable. This place is also a great value: less that $ 100 a month for weekly lessons, provided gear, and unlimited access to the facility.

My lady and I have just completed the beginner fencing course (lasted a month, every Monday) and it was a blast! George is an excellent teacher that values a strong foundation both in knowledge as well as physical skill-​sets.
I highly recommend George not only for his approachable, light-​hearted yet firm teaching style but also the excellent facility he maintains. The gym is spacious (even has an upstairs lounge area!), and includes a wide range of equipment that members can use to get down to business!

I want to put 6 stars for George Platt’s Swordplay Fencing Academy Inc. I had been here for 9 years and am only becoming a stronger, smarter, and just all around better fencer. George has taken me from an absolute beginner to an International competitor with Olympic hopes. He’s the best coach I’ve ever had in any (which is many) of the sports I’ve ever done. There’s a fantastic atmosphere here and you’ll never want to leave! Come fence!

George Platt is a great instructor. My 6 year old is learning not only how to fence but listen and follow instructions exactly. Skills that will help him through out his life. The adult classes are equally well run.
