I’ve been to this bar before and saw people chewing and spitting over the bar. I got kicked out because the bartender was being a complete a hole and I didn’t put up with the horrible customer service. The drink selection suck. They have 8 drafts and 2 beers on draft witch is usually Stella and colors light. I can just imagine how old some of the bottles are.

This place is the is a total dive, nothing more, nothing less. Some citys have that one bar that is generational. This place has been there for a long time, so nine times out of ten your parents may use to go to this bar when they were younger. This place could use some updates and more selection considering it’s surrounding competition. But for what’s it’s worth s decent place to start off a night out.

TL;DR: Decent drink prices, ok space, bathroom’s are atrocious. Come here reasonably often now when looking for a drink. Occasionally during the day, but mostly at night on the weekends when we are looking to relax. Several pool tables(old but functional) and a few TV’s serve as pleasant distractions; the bar tenders are pretty friendly and attentive, and there’s a side patio for lounging when the weather is good or if you’re a smoker(as this is downtown concord, smoking is generally prohibited unless you’re on a patio). Prices are fair. A domestic in a bottle will run you about 5 bucks, which is a little higher than some of the other dive type places around the area, but not outrageous. My biggest complaint is the bathroom. While I’ve only been in the men’s, there’s always a puddle of water or something worse on the floor by the urinal, and the smell definitely leaves something be desired. I don’t know if they have plumbing issues, or if the patrons have aim issues, but its pretty gnarly in there. Also there’s no enclosure around the toilet(there’s a urinal in there as well), so if you have to sit to do your other business, hope you don’t mind putting on a show cause last I checked the door lock is busted. Other than that, its a good spot to hang out and have a drink. I wouldn’t call myself a regular, but there’s a decent chance you might find me there on a weekend.

personally I really like this bar, but I understand it can be a terrible place to be depending on what you’re into. yeah, it’s old and dingy. yeah, it smells kinda funky towards the back. yeah you have a few sketchy patrons. but it is a dive bar to the fullest extent, not yuppie in the slightest, and that’s what makes it awesome. went here for the first time over the weekend as we were already in the area and wanted to hit up a bar but didn’t want to drive anywhere. pretty low-key, at one point our group made up all the people in the bar, and those that did come later were… let’s just say not in the same demographic as us, at least age-wise. the owners are super chill and nice, one of them put $ 10 in the jukebox and told us to pick whatever songs we wanted, then he gave us free pool all night. drinks are strong and cheap, just the way I like ‘em. the bartender always came by to check on us to make sure we were taken care of. if you’re really looking to party this probably isn’t the bar for you. for my group it was perfect as we were looking to just chill out, and this bar offered the perfect laid-back atmosphere for that. I’ll definitely be back in the near future.

There really should be a «negative» star option here. This bar is the absolute WORST I have been to in Concord, run down, the clientele are questionable, saw one shifty looking guy selling coke in the parking lot just lingering around in the shadows(as a girl, had I been alone, I would have driven away immediately), one guy snorting coke off a CD case in his car(classy stuff), maybe 5 enders/regulars in the bar(including what seemed to be the bartenders girlfriend and her friends, who seemed to be making out in the«free drink» category) along with the bartender who kept taking shots. They had ONEBEERONDRAFT… yeah let me repeat that in case you didn’t understand… PABSTISTHEONLYBEERONDRAFT, even though they have plenty of space to add at least 5 more options. So if you want a Bud it’s $ 4 for a bottle. Pathetic. This bar is overpriced and just not a fun atmosphere at ALL. And trust me when I say that I love dive bars, but this… this is a trip to the abyss, an abyss of scary parking lot lingerers, crappy beer options, high prices and distracted/drunk service. Unless, that’s your idea of a good time… If you like that sketchy feeling of being in a low budget movie based on «where losers and druggies of Concord go to hang» then maybe this is your place…

Checked out these place a couple times on Memorial day weekend through a friend who likes stopping in there. We had a few drinks there and played pool. The tables are pretty beat up but didn’t hinder having fun. I’m pretty sure they were playing music off of someone’s phone but didn’t bother to ask as I listen to pretty much anything. Both nights the crowd was very thin but nobody was too awkward. This isn’t a place I would go if I were alone. If you have a group and you are fun people the drink prices are decent and the service was timed well. The staff is very friendly and had a smile on their face when serving so I like that. I rate it two stars mostly because of the lack of people on a Friday and Saturday night. The place could use a little makeover. If my buddy wanted to stop in there again I would be fine with that but only because it is so close.

DIDYOUKNOWTHISPLACEISOVER60YEARSOLD? We pretty much never go to this bar, even though it’s not far from home. We came in on Sunday for the football game but there were no drink specials through the game and our two bottles of Bud Light totalled $ 7.50. They did have some food set up and the bartender was nice, but the TVs were set at odd volumes. And there was a delay between the sets, making it impossible to understand the voices being projected. This would be no way to watch an entire game. This bar is a fun stop from time to time. The place is big. It’s a long room and one side has lots of seating, while the other has pool tables. And there’s a lot of open area in the middle. I like that it’s been around so long. The bartender this Sunday said he’s been working there 41 years. Perhaps he’s the manager, or current owner? He was friendly enough, but not overly welcoming. When I’m paying that much for a bottle of domestic beer, it’d be nice to get some conversation to go with it. Though, complementary peanuts were salty and fresh ~ and I liked that!

I have been hesitating writing a review in fear for unveiling this hidden gem… I must say this place has become like a second home! The staff is so welcoming and friendly I never feel awkward going there — the other customers are awesome and are great people to talk to. The patio is a pretty good size and The Hangout has a pool table that takes dollars. The drinks are amazingly priced and it doesn’t get too crowded! A great after work watering hole.

I’ve been here a couple times lately. Hey, if you wana go to a small bar where you and your friends can take over, and you can always get a pool table, this place is cool. I don’t always need to go somewhere that’s already crackin, sometimes i’ll be in the mood to do the above described night, and it’s perfect for that. Drinks aren’t that expensive, sometimes ghetto people come in and become the entertainment, bartenders are laid-back. B.Y.O.F.P.(bring your own fun people) though. It’s just your friendly not-flashy-at-all neighborhood dive bar.

We visited the old hangout over labor day weekend, looking for some drinks and eventaully dinner. We asked our cab driver for a recommendation since we were from out of the area and this is where we ended up. At first look, we were a little nervous, but ventured in and ended up having a great night. The other reviewers commented on the fact they do not serve food, and its a bit run down, but the employees more than made up for it. We sat at the bar and watched the game and visited with the bartenders. We even played dice games with the regulars and were made to feel like family. Its not the ritz, but it is a place to feel safe and go have a good time. We started at this bar about 5pm and we were one of the only customers. We left for dinner and stopped back by a few hours later and ended up staying until closing. I would highly recommend this place.

Anytime I drive by a place at 5pm and a drunk loser stumbles out and vomits in the street for everyone to see — I’m all over that place. Can’t wait to go! I bet it’s full of more drunk losers about to fight and vomit and do crimes. Yeah Baby!

This place doesn’t deserve prose. $ 3.50 domestic pint, Inet jukebox, Historical Bar Back wrecked by cheap banner on it. Hip-hop white crowd. White girls mouthing«N^&&@» along with the jukebox is never appealing. Crowd is dead-enders mostly. Gallery styled bar with appealing well worn stools. 14 people @ 9:45 pm Weekday. The build could be called deconstrutivism if they bothered to organize it. Dark stain bar back, light stained rest of bar if they bother to stain, exposed particle board, jack under pool table, horn speakers everywhere, Large 70″ ancient projection TV stacked on particle board stacked on top of marshal size horn speakers. Crazy wood hut at door? This is just sloppy dorm room decorating being forced on you by slobs. Buy yourself a 6 pack shut yourself in a dirty closet and save yourself the gas and grief.

Sometimes a place doesn’t even merit reviewing, but just in case somebody is planning on hitting this dive, be forewarned. A lot of shady characters inhabit this dwelling. The two times I’ve been there fights have broken out. If that’s your thing then The Old Hangout might be for you. If you prefer more of a mature drinking crowd as opposed to the raucous, deadbeat drunks you find here, then you may want to skip this establishment.

This is my regular bar that I venture 2 about every otha wknd or so… My girl Jamie hipped me 2 this place… Which is her regular spot & I don’t call it the Hangout, I call it Jamie’s bar… Cool folks, mostly regulars there, but its a fun lil spot 2 hangout… The Bartender, J, is always hookin up drinks… But don’t come thru wit no funky azz attitude cuz it will get checked… Cool jukebox 2 pick sum tunes… There’s a DJ on Thurs and sumtimes on Fri… Decent eye candy on Fri/Sat nites… Pool tables 2 play a lil sumthin… If I’m headin out 2 drink & meet up wit sum frenz, U can find me here… Only thing missin, is sum eateries… But U can bring shit N or venture up the street…
