I love coming to this burger place. I’ve eaten In-N-Out, and worked at Five Guys, but this place is way better. Quality food from a quality business. I go to both the El Cerrito and Concord locations, and they are both excellent. I love to get a double bacon cheeseburger and chili fries, with a milkshake. Come here, you won’t regret it.

Oh my goodness! The perfect diner experience! Heaven! The burgers are outstanding! As good as it gets! The fries and onion rings are great! *Beware: they come straight from the fryer to your basket so they will be HOT* Last time we were there we got chili fries, and they were exactly as expected, yummy and cheesy!

Was in the mood for an over-the-top bacon cheeseburger with all the fixings, and Red Onion certainly delivered. The burger was cooked perfectly and was loaded with cheesy goodness, top off with a toasted bun. The fried were on point as well, on the thicker side with good crispness to them. Food: 5 stars if you are looking for a burger and fries Customer Service: Prompt and friendly Cleanliness: The place was spotless This is going to be a new go to for me when I need that burger craving satisfied. Good addition to the monument corridor.

Very simple menu good food and this place is very clean! The restrooms and entire restaurant is very clean which sometimes is hard to find even at more upscale restaurants. And you can tell they continue to clean the whole time you are there! Very impressed!

I really enjoyed the cheeseburger and fries. Reminded me of the Toms burgers in LA but of a higher quality. Service was personal since restaurant has a mom and pop feel. Their burger was 10x better than The Habits burger. I recommend visiting this place. I would visit again.

After driving by so many times I finally decided to eat here and try it out. Food was very good the cheeseburgers with bacon were nice size and very flavorful. Fries were good and crispy so we’re the onion rings. This is a place that I will be coming back to. Owner was very friendly. Place was clean.

Most people know Monument Blvd in Concord for the good Mexican food, but there’s also a great burger joint with a diner feel! The service was fast and my BLT sandwhich with fries and onions right was just what I needed. It seems to be family owned so you know they’re doing their best to bring you delicious food. 5 stars for the food coma!

I was driving by yesterday. Normally I probably never go into that shopping center, but I was hungry and their sign advertised a diner. I went in and it was pleasant surprise. A very mom and pop like diner(which I love!). The menu is a classic-no frills type, which works in their favor. I ordered the burger, fries, and a drink. One of the best things about Red Onion is that it is an open grill. You can see them making your food. I saw her plop down a huge patty and I instantly knew it was going to be good. After talking with, who I think is one of the owners, she told me that they had been there a little over a year and some of her ideas for the menu before some other customers came in and she helped them. All in all a very pleasant experience and a decent meal. After reading some other reviews I want to go back for breakfast!

Pretty good burger and fries! The staff was awesome, helpful and friendly. I will definitely come again if I’m in Concord. Wife got the BLT and said the same thing as me… everything just tastes fresh! Not frozen or processed. Great place, but the atmosphere needs a tune up or I’d give 5.

This place is one of my favorite to visit. I usually get a chicken sandwich or the lettuce wrap bacon cheeseburger. Heaven in my mouth! Both are so very juicy. If you’re thinking about trying a new lunch place, try this place.

I found out about this place on the Concord newly opened Businesses/restaurants. It is a Mom and Pop place that serves Lunch and Breakfast. It is tuck in a little shopping off of Monument but worth a try. I had tried their Chocolate Malt with the Bacon Cheeseburger minus the fries. The burger was a decent size with Onions(raw), Tomato, Lettuce and American Cheese and Bacon. The bun was a little bigger than patty but it was okay because it corralled all the ingredients from spilling out. The bun was also soft. The Chocolate Malt was the Star of the show. Nice thick consistency and not too shabby for $ 4 something. The price for Burger and Malt was a little over $ 10 and was perfectly portioned and price point for what you get. Bonus tip; You can«piggyback» free wireless because the Laundromat next door has it.

Good value with decent portions. For $ 8.12 got the cheeseburger with fries. The burger patty was not frozen but the fries were. The bun was toasted slightly too long but everything else was decent. I couldn’t taste much of the beef patty but did taste the added seasoning. I would come back if I were in the area but wouldn’t make a special trip.

The red onion Delicious food made to order and fresh every time. Friendly staff that is willing to go that extra mile to make things how you want them. The menu consists of breakfast and lunch/dinner after 11 am. Very clean burger and breakfast place. I was surprised when I used the restroom to wash up how clean it is. When my kids ask me if they can come back here I know Irs a good place for children to eat. Very Child friendly. I would highly recommend this place on my children’s recommendation alone but I ate here too and the food was good.

The Red Onion lists it’s existance in the decades. since this location is less than a month old, they are obviously from another part of the bay area. menu: breakfast, turkey/salmon/hamburger sammies, sammies, fries, shakes, drinks, etc. eats: hamburger(4.70), ordered medium rare –fresh patty from the fridge. not frozen –came mediumish with tomato, lettuce, red onion, pickle, mayo, mustard –no meat flavor tasted, only lingering taste from the added salt. –ingredients all tasted fresh. –4 stars for value, 3 stars for the burger. 3.5 stars crumbs: –noticed fries(2.1) the frozen kind –coffee(1.8) «ambiance», passed. –friendly service.

The Red Onion is another burger joint, taking the place of what was formerly Maxi Burger. They kept the same cozy diner feel that Maxi had, and upgraded all of the appliances as well as cleaned up the dining room making it feel a little more modern. I stopped by today for lunch and ordered a simple cheeseburger and fries. When I saw the cook pull out a fresh patty and slap it on the flat top, I couldn’t help but smile like a kid in a candy shop. Fresh burgers ladies and gentlemen. Instead of just letting it cook and walk away, he actually took the time in making sure the burger was cooked well. Which along with it being fresh is probably what made it taste so good. The burger was exactly what I wanted. Somewhere between cheap fast food burgers, and expensive gourmet burgers you get the diner burger. Sometimes that’s all I want or need. A juicy burger, with wonderful flavor and served hot. Topped with gooey melted cheese, and fresh condiments. A tad more mayonnaise then I prefer, but easily fixed. Served with a side of hot fries. I watched them season the fries, but it could of used just a little more. They have the glass bottles of Heinz ketchup which I am not used to. I had some trouble with getting anything out and the woman who took my order, Sylvia, came to the rescue. She showed me the trick of basically karate chopping the bottle in a certain spot and bam, the ketchup came running out. Amazing customer service combined with delicious food makes me believe this place will becoming a local favorite quick.
