Tokyo-Tokyo Restaurant

Tokyo-​Tokyo Restaurant has some bomb ass snack wraps. Not the little 4-​inch (hehe) you get from Mcdonald’s or Wendy’s. Mutha-f*ckers are ENORMOUS. They are packed with meat and tasty ingredients. The sauce was the deciding factor, though. Delish!
Service, on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired. I swear it took 25 minutes for our order to be cooked. I commend the LONE employee who played wonder woman. Order taker, cook and presenter. Good job, but, this restaurant needs more than one person at all times to successfully run the place.
Bottom line: Great food… so-​so service

The signage on the big building doesn’t show «tokyo tokyo» anymores
inside, tokyo’s stall has dimmed lighting, the prices have been taken down, the eating area cornered off by stacked boxes and chairs. a sole employee is cleaning up inside. this was early afternoon.

i’d wanted to give them another try after my initial mushy tempera encounter but too late.

Meh… Filipino Japanese food? Odd.
Their Price for food is the same as any kind of Japanese restaurant, then I’ll rather skip this one.
I had their combo meals and it tasted alright. The employees were nice though.
Normally I would like to support places secluded like this but unfortunately, I had food better than this with the same amount of money.
FYI, the combo we got was the tempura shrimp & either it was chicken or pork katsu. Can’t remember which one.

Stay away. Just stay away.
I thought this was like one of those teriyake stands in the mall. It’s in the right setting for it. Little did I know that this was a chain all over the Philippines. Food looks authentic in the pictures, but when you receive it tells a different story.
I ordered the Sumo Tonkatsu meal. First off, it took 20 minutes to get my order. My order came in phases. They served the tonkatsu, salad and rice first. The tonkatsu came out VERY flat, rubbery in consistency and somewhat overcooked. The miso came out second and it just tasted like water. Finally, the tempura came out and it looked too underdone. The potato was still hard. The order was not golden brown, but more of a white colour.
I don’t know how long it normally takes to fry a pork patty and some vegetables, but 20+ minutes is just unacceptable. In fact, another customer complained to the cashier that their service was extremely slow. It’s almost as if the employees didn’t care. Actually… one guy came around the back counter and started playing the ukelele.
VERY DISAPPOINTING. Even for fast food Japanese cuisine, I would have expected something decent.
The only thing remotely decent about this place is that they had free wi-​fi. Although. when I tried to log on, it was slow.
Slow must be a theme to this place!
Instead of this place, go to Jolibee or Goldilocks. At least their employees were actually working.

Doesn’t taste as authentic as other Japanese restaurants. Doesn’t taste bad neither.

Had chicken teriyaki bento, beef teriyaki bento, tempura, banana strawberry crepes and red iced tea. The teriyaki was good although it was served cold. Tempura was ok. The vegetable side was good and cooked perfectly. The red iced tea waa too sweet (ofcourse)! Crepes was blah.
Would come here again and try yakisoba nd wraps.

I’ve been here a couple times thinking it’s got to be better this time.
But it’s not, in fact the only thing I can recommend for this place is the Red tea.
Other than that, don’t waste your time, there’s a reason why you don’t see a line at this place.

There were more people at Jollibee and Chow King, but we wanted to try this place anyway. Their menu is somewhat confusing. My dad ordered the shrimp «only» tempura bento, except the sumo bento actually already includes two shrimp and veg, so it was definitely an overload of tempura, unless you’re really into that. But I thought the breading was too thick and I was peeling it off by the end. I had a beef misono sumo bento, also with my share of mixed tempura. The miso soup started off good, but it was too salty after a while. The cup of soup is a larger portion than what you might get at other restaurants. Have you ever been to a teppanyaki type joint where they slip a stick of butter under the cooking food while it’s already sizzling on some oil? That’s what the stir-​fried veggies tasted like, too oily. The beef was very salty as well, with too much sesame oil. The best item, I thought, was the steamed rice. Oh wait, the little orange slices were ok too.
I wonder if this place tastes better in the PI somehow, being that is the origin of this fast food joint, especially with eat-​all-​you kanin. (Such a clever use of words! Eat all you can/​rice.)

I have wanted to check out Seafood city for awhile So on a quick lunch break I decided to swing in.
I was absolutely starving, and this place looked the most appealing.
I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken bento box for $ 5.99 — Which comes with 2 California rolls, rice and a little side of vegetables (I opted for no rice and extra veggies)
The Teriyaki chicken was surprisingly tasty, there was a generous amount of chicken– which was cooked well and teriaki sauce was very flavorful, I just didn’t like the fact that it had the skin still on it and there was settle traces of fat: (The little side of vegetables was ok; nothing above average, the sushi was pretty bland, with a settle amount of imitation crab.-basically just decent mall food.
All in all, 2.5 stars food wise — The service was sincere, the place appeared well kept and the food was decent.
Would I go out of my way to go here? No, but if you happen to be shopping with in the store, there worth giving a shot.

Cam to this place the first time today. Being of Filipino descent, I have never been to this Seafood City (although I have been to the ones in Union City, CA, Vallejo, CA, and even West Covina, CA), I figured it was worth a look at and see what was in this Filipino «mini-​mall.» Many of the other restaurants I have tried before but this is my first time ever trying Tokyo Tokyo so I figrued, what the heck, I felt eating some Japanese food.
The closest comparison I can make to this place, to be fair would be either Hapi House or maybe Yoshinoya Beef Bowl in terms of quality. I know it’s not a true sit down Japanese restaurant but more of a quick take out or a quick meal before going back to work type of place.
I ordered the «Sumo Bento», which is basically an entrée, mixed shrimp and vegie tempura, miso soup, a salad, and rice. I ordered the Beef Terriyaki as the entrée and the total was $ 8.49+tax.
The miso soup was about average. It did have plenty of tofu cubes which was nice, but at least it was not bland. The salad was not what you would typically get in a bento box (ie iceberg lettuce, slices of tomato and thousand island dressing), it was more like a pickled lettuce salad topped with toasted sesame seeds. Interesting butwas not really a hit for me. The beef terriyaki was OK as well, thin strips of beef but at least it was not dry, portion size was probably on the smaller side, and the maybe the flavor was masked a little too much by the smathering of sauce on it, but it was passable. The mixed tempura was probably the best part of the meal. Fried just right and still nice and hot when I ate it. It came with 2 decent sized shrimp and some vegetables.
I thought overall it was probably better than Yonishoya Beef Bowl as far as the beef terriyaki goes, but less in quantity and quality than Hapi House. Price wise, I thought it was a little much, to me knock off a couple of dollars and it would be worth it.

My kid (15 year old) love this place. She usually orders the chicken or beef teriyaki and thinks it’s great. I find the mixed tempura very good. We’re both big fans of the Red Ice Tea. The food is great, and the people are very friendly.

This place sucks. Don’t spend your money here. i’d only give this one star for their drink (iced tea or something) was the only thing i liked here. I saw the Bento boxes and the meat is blah and it was hella salty. They should get rid of it and put up a Goldilocks or something. i’m never coming back here.

I have to echo the other reviews and say that there’s nothing particularly special about the food here. I’ve only been here for lunch on the weekdays, but I can imagine that it gets much busier on the weekends. The «enclosed» seating is limited, but there are tables on the other side of the barrier. I’m not sure if Seafood City is going for a mini-​mall feel, but it looks like it’ll be that way.

I went their around 11:30 am on their opening day. There wasn’t any line yet that time until about 12noon when most people are on their lunch break.
Nothing special with their food. I ordered the beef misono bento. Beef was sliced paper thin marinated in some kind of soy. Doesn’t taste good. Too bland.
The mixed tempura was Ok.
Haven’t tried any other dishes they have but, I don’t think I still will.

Have been waiting for this place to open… We ordered 3 dishes… Yakitori Bento Box, Ebi Tempura Bento Box, and Ebi Tempura Bowl… The Yakitori and Tempura were adequate but the vegetable side dish I can do without… Service was good… but someone needs to bus the tables. Bin’s were overflowing as well.
