My boyfriend and I took an 11 mile bike ride to Confluence from Ohiopyle, and stopped here on a whim because we were starving. We were pleasantly surprised with our food — we got the brisket and the ribs, tender and scrumptious. Even my boyfriend, who isn’t always a fan of ribs, loved these. I’m not a huge fan of coleslaw, but I enjoyed this as well. Cornbread was a tad dry, but soaking it up with the sauce balanced it pretty well. Great place to stop and refuel for our ride back to Ohiopyle!

Was riding the Pittsburgh to DCGAP trail when I stumbled upon Confluence, PA. This was the first restaurant I came after exiting the trail. It is right across the bridge. The food is quite good. I had the pulled chicken sandwich which was a nice tangy bbq. I wish the bun would have been toasted. The smoked beans were delicious as well. The smoked chicken salad was quite good as well. The smoked chicken had a real nice flavor. Ice Tea was authentic and good. Overall, a fine meal at a very reasonable cost. As for ambiance, this is pretty much a take out joint. There is no indoor seating, but there are several picnic tables outside which is where we dined. The area was clean and comfortable. WARNING: The restroom is a portable toilet. It was very clean, but I know some people may have a problem with this. Regarding Service, this is a take out joint. You place your order then pick up your food at the window. The staff were friendly and efficient. For a take out place, it was great service.

Awesome BBQ! We had the delicious ribs and brisket. They were both smoked to perfection. We stopped again the next day to have some Ben and Jerry’s ice cream after a day ride on the Gap trail. Very clean and if you love great bbq this is the place to go!

All I can say is WOW! This BBQ place is the real deal! We walked by this place on our way to the river for some fishing at 5 am and there was already smoke pouring out of this place. We knew it had to be to be good if the meat was already on the smokers this early. We ate there for lunch and wow did the BBQ not disappoint! The brisket was hands down the best brisket I ever had! being from North Carolina, that says it all. Cant wait till next years fishing trip to eat at The Smokehouse again!

Three things I learned while eating at this restaurant. 1: If you’re going to have«smoke» in your name, you might want to use it in the cooking process. 2: Propane is not a seasoning. 3. If it tastes like Miracle Whip, your secret sauce is not a secret.
