After a horrible move and a previous post, this is how Enterprise Van Lines treats their customers, this is the response they wrote to the Better Business Bureau, please note the insurance company awarded us 12,000 bc of the horrible move and the theft that occurred… For privacy and protection removed our names … Do you want to be treated like this, we are now pursing a lawsuit . MESSAGEFROMBUSINESS: Dear Sir, In reference to Case #:(remove to protect me) This consumer has alleged many issues regarding our company Enterprise Van Lines. We have found over the years that every once in a while we have the misfortune of moving individuals who seem to hate the world they live in and make it a habit, and in this case a business, to make sure everyone else around them is a miserable as they are. Mrs. ______, who was just recently divorced happens to be one of those people. I can say that because I was the sales representative who met her on 2 separate occasions. Interestingly enough the 1st time I met her was at her home to provide her a written estimate for her move. It was a little awkward in that when I first arrived she was on the phone with a major computer company’s technician looking to see if she could scam her way into receiving a new computer in place of her older one. I had to wait several times during her conversation with the computer representative before finally going thru the rooms of her home to survey the items she wanted to ship. One might ask me, «why did you take this job if you knew there was potential for trouble». My answer is that you always give people the benefit of doubt. You hang in there with people because moving can cause good and honest people legitimate stress unintentionally displayed even towards a moving estimator. That along with the fact the moving business, which is directly tied into the housing market, has not been«booming». So you try to get business when you can. Had I known this individual would turn out to be the person she ended up to be I would have driven a couple hundred miles away from the town of(my town-disclosed for privacy) where we loaded the job up. Regarding the chandelier. I had specifically explained that the chandelier should either be wood crated, or re-packed by us for the safety of the chandelier’s shipping. She told me that she did not want to spend the money for crating and that she would see to it that the chandelier would be packed properly. Well it was not packed properly by her which led to that particular issue. However, the rules and regulations clearly state that we the carrier(the mover) are not responsible for packing performed by the shipper unless the box we moved was damaged by us during the handling and transportation of the item. Again, let me repeat that the Carrier is NOT responsible for packing performed by the shipper which in this case is(my name) who was the person responsible for improper packing. She was warned. The fact that she has alleged other claims against our company, along with photos of damages, and so called conversations with our employees, is just a testimony of how some consumers have it down to a science of how they can manipulate the facts, and spin the events to look like their the victim of some crime that was perpetrated against them. Why? To accomplish their main objective which of course is to make money by fraudulent claims especially when Insurance is involved. We call this Insurance Fraud. As I mentioned earlier, our Family company has been around long enough to realize that every year there’s at least several consumers out of hundreds of people we move, whether locally or long distance, who are frauds looking to take advantage of the system.(name)is one of these people. She happens to be very fortunate since I am not the claims department manager. I say that because my brother Freddie, who handles claims, is a good hearted person and actually has(my name removed for protection) claim in with the Insurance Company. Had I been in the claims department,(my name) would have received a phone call from the authorities commanding her to stop her harassment of our company and our employees. Her total claim is a fraud and has no merit whatsoever. Our company not only stands on it’s long standing record of providing top quality service to consumers, but we go to the extreme of bending over backwards to make sure we stay in good standing with all of our customers, especially in those times when things didn’t go the way we’ve planned. But then along comes a consumer like(name). By the way, the woman named Rosy who(name)referred to in her letter as «hearing only about her chemotherapy». Well Rosy just passed away this past Tuesday. I have nothing else to say. My name is Aldo DeVivo and have been in this business since 16 years of age. I’m now 57 and have had my share of(name)over the years. Thank God not that often. Sincerely, Aldo DeVivo Enterprise Van Lines
