Got here early on a Friday night with no reservation so we had to eat out on the patio. Cute patio and nice night so not a problem. Who would think you need reservations in a town this small! Food was delicious and servers were friendly and attentive. Glad we found this place and will definitely stop in again next time we’re headed north(next time we’ll just try and plan ahead)

So this place had great reviews and was close by to where we were staying. Very, very small inside, we had to wait for a table for just a few minutes. It was really busy, seemed a bit hectic but they rushed around and set us up with a table, which was right by the back door, kind of in the middle, in the way of other tables around us. The manager came over and asked us to move our table side ways so we were out of the way, at this point I felt like we were the step children at a family dinner. At this point I was a little annoyed. They had one waitress for the busy, small, full restaurant so I was really concerned on how this was all going to go down. Well, our drinks came fast, we ordered a ceasar salad to share before our dinner and that came pretty quick and was delicious! I am feeling better now. Our food came almost as soon as we were done, we ordered the bistro burger and the Bleu cheese bacon burger. The food was really, really good. Service was really good. Only complaint is they need to work on the seating. Moral of the story… don’t be so grumpy and judgy, this place has excellent food and service.

Carl my husband and I Mary, We just love this restaurant. I just have to say that Simon the owner and chef, Simon Is a very nice man and superb chef and his staff always has a smile and«Awesome» service. We are always on our Motorcycles when we ride to Congress Az. just to eat at Nichols West. We also love to bring along at times up to 20 very friendly motorcycle friends who also love motorcycle riding. They always seem to leave very satisfied with a smile. Thank you, Simon, for being so welcoming and accommodating to us when we arrive and Thank you for being you :) Love, Mary&Carl

What a surprise! Very clean, nice atmosphere, good service. The menu was eclectic and impressive. The chicken and waffles were amazing, the tacos were ok. My husband said it was the best small town restaurant that he has ever been to.

Don’t go to Sedona or Prescott valley without having a meal at this place. Enjoy the cleanliness, the photography, and great service! All of that plus outstanding food and a choice menu that’s small and focused. We had such an awesome breakfast here… can’t wait to go again! Ps if you’re a biscuit & gravy fan… I died and went to heaven. Another perk: a sign on the front door that says no tank tops! No hairy man pits to lose your appetite over… that’s so rare in Arizona, I’d like to thank the owners for their thoughtfulness! ;) Oh…one more thing. If you smoke, go ahead and keep driving. There are a ton of signs warning: No Smoking. As a cigarette hater, big smiles(and a nice deep breath!)

Had another great dinner with Simon, and his crew. My wife had the ramen noodles, and mussels, that she raved about, I had my stand by chicken and waffles, we brought mom with us, and she tackled the Philly beef. Another great dinner with great friends. If you pass this by you missed out.

Nice and clean little place in the middle of nowhere. Pretty busy for noon on a Sunday. The food was average. Nothing great or special. Service was okay. Anywhere else, especially a big city this place would have got 1 star. But being where it is I gave it three stars for great effort.

Ok… I’m not even joking!!! AMAZING breakfast!!! I had The Elvis, French toast with peanut butter and bananas, AND the Traditional Eggs Benedict. Don’t judge, they both sounded good and it’s an hour away from home. BUT sooooo worth the drive!!! Both were fantastic!!! Hubby had the Shrimp and Avacado Eggs Benedict. LOVEDIT! I don’t do avocados, unless they are in a 7-layer dip. This is now my FAVORITE breakfast in Arizona! The history of the place is great too. The owner grew up in London, England, moved to Congress, moved to the Hampton’s, came back to Congress. All of the High-Falutin Uppitys in the Hampton’s LOVE his cook’n. Sat next to a local Congress-Man told us the history of the place. Cute guy, it’s his anniversary today. The town is adorable with all of its little country shops too. This is the Real Deal folks. In the winter months when the Cowboys are in town there is a wait to get in, so hustle in while the weather is HOT!!!

My folks were here a few times before and highly recommended it for breakfast. The waitress was very friendly. The good came quickly and perfect to order. It was presented very well. I had the the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict. It was cooked to perfection. The hollandaise sauce was wonderful and creamy. The eggs we nice poached. The crab cakes were nicely crispy on the outside and melted in your mouth. I highly recommend this place!

I ate here twice — dinner and then breakfast the next morning. Food is fresh, wildly tasty, and outlandishly creative. Worth driving out of your way to get here.

Heading back to California from Prescott, we were hungry. Our usual stop in Yarnell was closed. We had tried Nichols West a few years back and were not impressed. We are overjoyed we tried it again! The small restaurant is small, clean, and free of clutter that adorns way too many country restaurants. But this was not country fare. While one can order a regular breakfast, one can also order eggs Benedict! We ordered the breakfast burrito. The flavor was spicy, but not hot. The ingredients were fresh. The tortilla was flavored. Outstanding! After ordering, one of us made an appointment for that afternoon in California. We asked for the meal to be prepared to go. They were happy to oblige. In fact, they were friendly while remaining professional. I also watched the waitress help an elderly man into a wheelchair. His female companion stated, «it’s so much easier with two people. » the waitress acted as though this was part of the standard of service. Helpful. Congress may not be your neighborhood, but you should make this neighborhood restaurant yours.

So happy to find a place that serves healthy options done well. Their avocado salad was delicious! I got their shrimp quesadilla, which was amazing! The crust was crunchy, inside cheese and shrimp had rich consistency with bite size shrimps. Flavor was done really well. For such a unassuming place I was impressed! Their coffee tasted like flavores water, but I can’t hold it against them.

We have stopped here many times and have always been pleased. Great restaurant in a very unlikely place. I think the owner is a very experienced one who is here for the lifestyle more than the money. This place would work anywhere. Too bad we live so far away! Food preparation and presention is excellent. Wide menu at a reasonable price. Place is spotless… including the restrooms. Very friendly people. Make it a point to stop bere. You’ll really enjoy it.

A «do-not-miss» restaurant. This place is worth a detour or even a day trip. What I’ve Tried: — the bouillabaise: very tasty, ample portion of seafood, comes with a side of grilled crispy bread(almost too hard). Would I order again? yes. –the beet and avocado salad: great flavor combination, but a little too creamy, would have liked some additional greens and a lighter dressing. Comes as a deconstructed salad, the guest must cut up beets, avocados, oranges, etc. Would I order again? maybe. –zucchini chips: technically an appetizer, this HUGE portion could easily suffice as a «meal» of sorts. Two of us couldn’t finish the plate. Delicious, thin slices of fried zucchini, perfectly seasoned. Would I order again? in a heartbeat. There is so much on the menu that I look forward to trying: their tapas-style small plates for brunch, their burgers and that delicious ahi tuna sandwich! Ambiance: –the décor/interior isn’t mind blowing, but it is clean and well kept –patio out back with umbrellas for shading –full bar inside with barstool seating –request reservations for holidays(Mother’s Day, etc). –wish they’d change their parking situation(all dirt lot, just off the road) –seems just shy of «upscale» dining, but not quite«casual» either, would love to see it go more classy. Service: –I always have fantastic service at Nichols West. The servers are always polite and quick. Price: –the plates may seem a bit more expensive($ 8+ for a standard lunch, $ 12+ for dinner), but they are worth it. The fresh ingredients, presentation, and 4-star taste profile is unheard of in AZ, let alone in the middle of the desert. –look to the appetizers(large portions) or the tapas-style small plates for a more affordable option, even though the regular plates are worth their value. Thank you, Nichols West, for choosing tiny little Congress as your home, it means I can get near-gourmet level food by driving 15 minutes.
