I just found this place despite living in the area for years and it is my new favorite bookstore (including all of the stores I have visited in Denver and Boulder). I would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable experience.

I love Mountain Books, it is a true treasure. I’ve been visiting this place since I was able to read.
It is owned by a sweet white-​haired man who knows everything about literature and will always give you a good recommendation. Like many places, the store has a 2:1 trade program, so for every two books you give him, you can take one new book home.
Mountain Books has a wide selection of genre fiction (mystery, romance, sci-​fi), but also has a good selection of literary fiction and nonfiction as well. Plus, it’s really inexpensive. There is usually a $ 1 and $ 0.50 table out front.
Plus, it sports comfy chairs and not one but two bookstore dogs.
