Good food, not far from work so it makes for a nice afternoon drive after work. I’ve always received great customer service.

Tried it for the first time this weekend. I only tried the half chicken and soft serve twist but both were very good! The chicken was deeply marinated and cooked well. Had a really good flavor and wasn’t burnt like you get sometimes at fundraiser chicken bbqs. I want to try the sides and ribs next time I go back. The ice cream was a huge serving and really good quality. It was very thick and creamy custard like. The twist almost tasted like chocolate marshmallow. Yum! Hurry if you go, they close for the season soon! u

i love this place. they consistently put out very good food, and in my opinion their chicken is THE definition of summer flavor, it’s the marinade we all grew up on in the southern tier and they do the marinade justice by cooking it near perfectly over charcoal. i say«near» perfect because once in a while the breast meat is a little dry, but they baste the chicken with extra sauce when they give it to you, so you can always dip the chicken to moisten it up. the ribs are also some of the best in the area, they are always tender and moist and they have a good flavor from the sauce, as well as a hint of smoke. their sauce is unique for our area, it’s a southern style vinegar sauce that’s done very well, and it’s why i like the conklin location over the appalachin one, the sauce is different in conklin. the sides are great too, i’ve never been big on mac salad, but theirs is so good that i have to get it every time i visit! the coleslaw is also pretty good, it always seems fresh and there’s a little bit of a sweetness to it. the potato salad is also good, as are the beans and salt potatoes. their soft serve is also something you shouldn’t miss out on. if you’re not familiar with Big Dipper, i’ll clue you in. it’s an ice cream stand that sells BBQ during the spring and summer months, so don’t sleep on visiting them because you only have another month and a half left to visit them this season! they have a few picnic tables but you’re better off just getting takeout. i try to get my friends to go out here and i successfully got a few to go and they seemed to really like the food. some of them feel that the price is too high, but i feel like $ 18.50 for a very meaty half rack of ribs, plus a half of a chicken and 2 sides is more than fair! do yourself a favor and put this on your list of places to visit, you can thank me later.

Big Dipper BBQ2 is a roadside stand on Route 7 in Conklin serving up BBQ and ice cream. This food stand branched off from Big Dipper BBQ in Apalachin and this food stand opened in 2011. There are outside takeout windows with an adjacent covered picnic table seating area. They serve up BBQ chicken, ribs, pulled pork, side items(mac salad, potato salad, cole slaw, salted potatoes, beans, fruit), and cold drinks(Pepsi products). For ice cream, Crowley’s soft serve and several flavors of Perry’s hard scoop are offered in cones, cups, waffle cones, sundaes, banana splits, shakes, floats frozen dipped bananas, malts, and slushies. While driving through the area on Route 7, I stopped by Big Dipper BBQ2 for a dinner break. I still had a long drive and I needed to get to the other end of Route 7(Vermont and beyond) that same night. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich($ 8) with a side of potato salad. The service was quick and I had my order all set in under 4 minutes. The pulled(chopped) pork(piled onto a soft white 6″ sub roll) was very tender with slightly sweet/smoky flavor. I bit into one very small piece of bone in the pork, but othewise very good. The small cup of BBQ sauce had a sweet flavor. The deli style potato salad was tangy and had a creamy dense texture. The meal overall was satisfying and priced fairly.
