The Breakwall BBQ Restaurant

Prices are very reasonable and for the harbor location it is a rare gem. I eat here twice a week through the summer (only open through summer /​early fall season). The beef brisket is awesome although I have tried plenty of other BBQ dishes and all were a great experience in taste! The staff here is always pleasant and good at what they do !

Love this place !! The Brisket, the Buffalo Chicken Salad, The Nachos and the Fries done as a nacho style appies were really tasty and the selection of beer was great and the view was a
beauty of a day on the water… this place felt like you were eating at your friend’s house and they were cooking you dinner… the waitresses we really nice and the service was excellent.
I really hope this place gets the recognition it deserves… that would be justice served…

Pretty good versus other options in Conneaut but not the best. I had the brisket sandwich which was smokey but unfortunately a little on the dry side. My husband had the pulled pork which seemed juicier. My brother in law got the phat chick and the sheer size was impressive. I preferred the golden bbq sauce which was sweet and tangy. The more traditional looking bbq sauce had way too much cumin for my preference. Fries and onion rings were decent.

Great lunch by the harbor in Conneaut at Breakwall BBQ. The beef brisket salad and sandwiches were wonderful. Great onion rings. The service was friendly and prompt. Worth the detour off I90!

Great food, great service, reasonable prices. We used to live in TX where BBQ is king. This place is TX quality in OH! We’ll definitely be back :)

The wife and I read about Breakwall BBQ in the local Erie paper and decided to give it a try. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio by the lake.
As stated in the previous reviews, the service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable.
The food was very good. We started off with the loaded tater tots. The tots were crispy, but would have been better served with just the melted cheese rather than the cheese sauce that was added on top. The pulled pork on the tots was tender and delicious.
Both my wife and I orders the two meat tasting platter (probably not the name of the dish). You got a large portion of brisket and a large portion of pulled pork, a chunk of cornbread (delicious), and two sides. I’m a picky eater, so I ordered a double order of the Cajun fries. The wife ordered macaroni salad and baked beans.
The meats were tender, flavorful and delicious. The cajon fries were exceptional. The were fresh cut and seasoned perfectly. The wife reported her sides were equally good.
The Breakwall also offers a decent number of craft beers on tap.
Our family will definitely return for more delicious BBQ.

Nice atmosphere and great BBQ. I took wife and daughter (fairly picky eater) who gorged on ¹⁄₃ rack of ribs and said they were awesome. Wife and I had pork & brisket combo which was worth the trip. Will visit again if I come back to area.

Okay. Let me start by saying that I have been to over half the country, and have dined at countless BBQ joints but this one definitely takes the cake.
Here is why:
Visual Appeal:
When you drive up to the restaurant it is just a small little place overlooking a boat dock and beautiful Lake Erie… so it kinda has a hole in the wall/​peaceful look about it and leaves you guessing as to what to really expect. When you get to the door however, you begin to see the REAL beauty of the joint, an open patio to eat on as well as an inside dining area with clean tables, good color/​lighting and great music. (They also have live music when the weather is good) The smell is even better, when you open the door to walk in you are immediately STRUCK by the smell of smoked BBQ and just pure amazingness.
The Service:
Here’s a big one… cuz most places are lacking in truly GOOD service. Our server was amazing, she smiled constantly, was quick, patient and attentive and treated us like friends instead of strangers… a rarity in food service these days. The owner was above and beyond, he treated us damn near like family, checked on us, and even went in the kitchen and brought me a sample rib so my wife and I could try them… (more on that in a minute though). All in all, they deserve an award just for their service.
Food:
I barely know where to begin… the beer. They have a great beer menu, and of course they also have pop and water, etc. I recommend the «Not your father’s root beer» from the beer menu and the smoked sweet tea from their regular drink menu. The food was ORGASMIC… haha. Seriously though, the food is to die for, I felt the love and heart in every bite. And the rib we tried… well, it was so good we bought a half rack to take home with us. They use a special dry rub so incredible that you don’t even need or really even want a sauce for.
Go HERE NOW… LOL. It’s worth a drive, it’s worth the chance and worth every penny. We will be here often.

Great Bar Be Que in Northeast Ohio. Loved the White Chicken Chili. Great waitress, very attentive.
