Love this place! Better than the original hibachi place on lake woodlands drive. Bobby(Asian guy) is the best chef-I always request him. I don’t like Travis(white guy) for the chef-though he does have a following. We always get the filet or filet and shrimp combo and add a fried rice. Kids love it here! Bobby makes the hibachi experience extra special and fun for them!!! Sushi is pretty good. My kids love the edamame, soup, and pepper tuna and the Japanese soda with the noisy glass ball in it.

GOTOTHECONROELOCATION! I can’t stress this enough. We love shoguns and usually go to the Conroe location. So thinking it would be the same we tried this location and it’s terrible. The salad dressing was watery and looked like it had been sitting there for days. We ordered the crab puffs and it tasted way too crunchy and the«yummy yummy«they usually give you with it was not even close to tasting ok. It looked so old. The food was alright but it’s just not the same as the one in Conroe.

We specifically picked this neighborhood stop to celebrate a birthday and it was perfection. It’s always great to come back to a place where you are treated like family. We sat a the grill for a fun show and the staff is polite, sweet, wonderful, accommodating, and just fabulous. The chef was super entertaining and skillful. All the food was yummy. The food was fabulous and we splurged for lobster and scallops. We had several appetizers and some sushi rolls. Everything was gobbled up it was delicious. You get what you pay for and when it all comes together… GREATFOOD, GREATSERVICE, GREATAMBIANCE. It’s worth it. Thank you Shogun, we love you:)

Went this visit for the wife’s Hallobirthday, and the kids love hibachi so it’s a win/win. Had the teriyaki shrimp, was delicious. One of my sons had the steak yaki udon and loved it — first time he had the thick noodles. Anyway, we’ve eaten here several times and have enjoyed it each time. Always friendly service & great food.

I’ve been going to this restaurant for the past 10 – 11 years… Minus the three years in the middle of that time period during which my mother and I were living in Virginia and Florida. So you can possibly begin to understand how much I love this place. Now, I have never been seated in the restaurant part, just the Hibachi part, so that is what I will be reviewing. I’ve been to many different Hibachi restaurants, and none put on a show as great as this one. And none of them had food as good as this one. Depending on the chef, they may throw torches, spin eggs, throw eggs in their hats, create onion trains and volcanoes, and more. One chef that is especially popular among kids and adults alike once made an Olaf out of fried rice on my plate. He also enjoys cracking jokes. Unfortunately I can’t remember his name, but he is identifiable as the only non-Asian chef there(but don’t let that deter you). The fried rice and the veggies are delicious, and the soups and salads are the best soups and salads I’ve ever had. The filet mignon is comparable to the much more expensive steak at Kirby’s, a place that specializes in steak. The place generally isn’t very busy. They give you a special treat if you go there for your birthday. I would definitely suggest going there; I go there all the time and love it!

I placed a pickup order from Shogun, drove about 15 minutes to get there. When I got home, my friend and I ordered a pay per view movie and began eating our sushi — after tasting something minty after a few bites of food I realized they gave me USED chopsticks. Someone had stuck their chewed up gum in the wrapper. It was just a few small pieces stuck to the chopsticks so at first glance I didn’t notice. I completely lost my appetite on the two rolls I had barely touched. After being absolutely disgusted and not wanting to pack up my 4 year old son to drive all the way back over there just to pick up a replacement order I called and spoke to the manager the following business day. He asked me to bring in the gum covered chop sticks in for proof to which I told him I had thrown them and the sushi away — I was totally grossed out after I made the discovery. Once he found out I didn’t have«proof» he was rude and absolutely unwilling to replace my order. Also, a few months prior to that my cousin and I dined in there and she discovered a hair in her pepper tuna sushi roll. I’ll never give them my business again and plan on letting everyone else know what a horrible establishment this is as well.

Appetizer was cold, salad was nasty, soup was okay. Ice tea didn’t have ice and had to ask for refill twice. Main course was okay. Ordered steak and scallops with fried rice. Scallops were actually good steak was okay and not cooked medium like asked, it was well done. Wife had chicken and shrimp both being over cooked. 75 dollars for mediocrity is not how we spend our money. Server was not good, she was slow as heck. Maybe she had too many tables but she asked if we needed anything and both glasses were empty. Place has potential but we will not be back. Menu was allot to take in.

My first time at this one, and I was surprised at how different the service levels were. My friend asked for miso soup, and it was delivered ice cold– yuck! Our drinks weren’t refilled, and they forgot our rice at the hibachi grill. The chef wasn’t very skilled and kept dropping his utensils. Overall, the food was consistent, teppanyaki chicken and a shaggy dog for me– the sushi chef wasn’t skilled at rolling it cuz mine fell apart when I tried to pick the pieces up. Flavor was spot on. My friend ordered sushi and the teppanyaki shrimp, her sushi fell apart too. You’re better than this shogun!

Pricey and regular. Fresh fish, not particularly flavorful. There are other nearby places with equally good sushi with better deals(ie Atsumi)

First, I should have taken note that the first reviews are good, and within the last 9 months they are all terrible except one. Service is utterly and painfully slow. Took 3 minutes in the empty place before anyone came to seat us, took 20 minutes for drink order, 20 minutes to get drink, and another 20 to order. We were ready to walk by the time we had order taken. We should have walked, the food was meh. Benihana is much better for a similar priced lunch. Never again.

Food is ok– not great Overpriced if you asked me Service was not the greatest Then their computers went down, and they automatically gave themselves a 15% tip without asking anyone. I would never come back to eat here.

Food was okay but we got the sub par teppanyaki experience. There was only three of us at the table versus the full tables around us so they rushed the cooking and then didn’t even offer dessert.

You come here to eat. This is not a fancy sushi bar, with a fancy bar area. Two words that come to mind are, simple and home decorated. The food is truly what matters to me, and in my opinion, the sushi is among the greatest. The quality of the fresh salmon is always the number one indicator of quality to me. The salmon here, is always ocean fresh and is sliced to melt in your mouth. The chef always has special rolls available at great prices. I love the crunch roll and the kamikaze roll. They also offer lunch specials during the week and on weekends. Beyond the sushi bar, there is also a grand hibachi room, with the famous hibachi show. The hibachi show is great for birthdays and showers, or for a date. Fun and delicious!

I am pretty picky about sushi. It seemed like every roll they offer is chris crossed with that spicy mayo stuff. Sashimi was ok, not great. Other than that no real complaints, I just think you can do better.

Our picks for tonight were; the Sakura, New Orleans, and skydiver rolls along with the spicy seaweed salad. Unfortunately we were not impressed. The wait staff and quality of the fish were below par. It took about 10 minutes for us to be acknowledged to even order a drink which turned us off and not to mention the restrooms were at least 110 degrees and muggy. Eek not a pleasant feeling when stepping into them. Aside from that the quality of the fish was not good. It did not taste fresh and the rolls themselves lacked flavor. I’m sorry to say that we were quite disappointed.
