Undoubtedly 5 stars. When I switched my California license to a Michigan license it took 3 visits and long long lines. Switching from Michigan to Texas took 10 minutes (from walking in to walking out with a license) on a random Monday afternoon at around 3.30pm. Amazing! The staff (to varying degrees) were friendly and (without exception) incredibly efficient! Love it!!!

It’s insane that Texas doesn’t allow CDL renewal online. This is outside the main office at 10:45 on a Monday.

I lost my DL so I had to go in person get another. We went on a Tuesday around 10am and the line was out in the hallway up and down the corridor. It took about 2hrs from enter to exit. Once you get into the main office it takes about 40mims to an hour to get out the door. The DPS staff that stands at the door was helpful because he would tell people if they needed more documentation before they waited in line. He said that Monday and Friday are the worst days to come and people can be there up to 4−5hrs. I did notice that after 11am the line got considerably longer. The staff were helpful, polite, and friendly.
