The worst frappé I’ve ever had. It was thin like chocolate milk. I complained and nothing was done about it.

Good ice cream in a nice country farm setting. The shop is located in a building with seating and some farm related items for sale. This is a working farm with cows grazing in the fields and some penned animals that can be seen around the property.

Pros: Some free entertainment for the kiddies in the form of farm animals you can look at: chicken, cows, sheep, alpaca, and horse. It’s not a petting zoo though. It’s in a pretty setting off the beaten path. However, the reason we came-the make your own ice cream sundae bar-didn’t impress us too much. Yes, there were a ton of ice cream flavors to choose from and you could sprinkle your sundae with jimmies, sauces, whip cream, a couple candies, nuts, and other goodies but I dunno… the sundae area just looked sad. My partner commented that he wished he saw the sundae bar area before buying a sundae. For what its worth, the ice cream isn’t made in house and the staff who served us could have been more customer-oriented and friendly. They do have a corn maze that costs extra-maybe that would be fun? It’s possible we’ll come back when we’re back in Concord, but I kinda doubt it.

Kimball’s puts Old McDonald’s farm to shame. Centuries-old, this well-established agricultural oasis is the perfect little family-friendly ice cream location! Farm animal tour(well-maintained and the animals look happy), green house sales, «corn history museum», and(of course!) — — - ICECREAM! There is a barn available for party rentals, which is where you could find our family this last Saturday. For those of you unfamiliar with barn/outdoor structures, barns: have dirt floors, don’t have windows, and can be hella hot under the summer sun. Tables + tablecloths were available for us to set up(great for our treats and beverages), and there were plenty of folding chairs(in addition to the re-purposed pews). There were no industrial-sized fans on-site, so I would recommend heat-sensitive folks to bring cooling devices and extension cords if temperature would be an issue for your group. The barn served its purpose: a rustic location for a spirited gathering. In addition to treats which we brought from home, we ran a tab at the bar… ICECREAM bar, that is. Fantastic ice cream list(ridiculously long) which features greats from both Blake’s(New Hampshire-based) and Richardson’s(an MA operation). Flavor options which caught my eye: grapenut, moosetracks, peanut butter Iditarod, and **HOLDONTOYOURSEATS** CRUNCH-A-SAURUS!!! I’ve been seeking out Dinosaur Crunch ice cream for five years(blue vanilla ice cream with chocolate covered krispies)! This happened to be a Richardson’s flavor; their take on the Sodexo masterpiece is practically spot-on, just missing a hit of rainbow color and fruity krispies. Either way, it made me into a blue-mouthed ice cream idiot for the afternoon and that suited me just fine. It’s a bit of a hole in the wall(a pain to get to if you’re not from the area and used to the drive), but there’s plenty of parking and would be ideal for an afternoon jaunt. Negative points for importing the frozen treats, though… The ice cream tab for 19 people: around $ 90. And afternoon spent with a smiling family in the countryside: priceless.

I found this online because it was perfectly in the middle for meeting up with some old freinds. It was one of the best finds I have had yet. Fun, interactive, and well groomed Corn Mazes. The ice cream and sundae bar choices were endless and delicious. Will definately go back for years to come.

I had given up on this place because of a very rude experience 2years ago. Brought my daughter who was visiting and it was close to closing time. The owner was so rude letting me know how he was nearly closed but would serve us anyway i abruptly came home, googled it, and told him how rude he was. Instead of apologizing he sent me back an even ruder email describing how hard his job was dealing with the public! I ask you… why be in the service industry?! I deal with the public everyday in my job and i would be out of a job if i treated people like that. Well the reason for writing this now is i finally went back the other night, and silly me for thinking it was still summer, they closed at 8 for fall hours… we just made it, experienced his rudeness again, but the poor couple who came in at 8 were hit with it! The man actually went back in to tell the owner he could have simply told him theybwere closed! I will never go again, I can get ice cream at the store… i think you go out for the experience!

The other day I decided to take a little road trip north to New Hampshire to check out the fall foliage with my girlfriend. The drive from the Boston area was almost two hours and considering it was the long weekend the traffic wasn’t bad. Thanks to GPS finding this location isn’t difficult, just off of Interstate 89 and down a few residential road. Take it slow when you are getting closer to the destination because the roads suddenly become gravel either due to construction or NH’s every changing scenery. Beech Hill Farm is clearly visible as you approach from down a steep hill with fantastic Autumn colored trees surrounding the area. This was a great time of year to come. We arrived around 1pm and parking was already a little tricky. BHF asks drives to park at an angle and when the lot is full you have to improvise by parking on some of the uneven green grass, be careful. Once parked we made our way inside to the Ice Cream Barn where we could purchase tickets at $ 5/person for three mazes. As we made our way up the hill towards our first maze with flyers and golf pencil in hand the rustling of the corn stalks could be heard in the distance. Upon walking up to the entrance of the corn maze you are surprised to find it’s not that tall and the stalks are not very tightly packed as my girlfriend pointed out. I agreed. However, we made the most of our trip and had fun. The mazes are not anything too difficult or and we finished all three less than two hours. Even though there are rules posted at the entrance of each maze honestly nobody abided by them. We saw families cutting through the stalks and small children pulling off corn from the dry stalks. However, BHF doesn’t good a fantastic job of maintaining their corn mazes; debris, knocked over stalks and even clues you are supposed to find are sometimes on the ground. If you need a break between mazes stop into the Ice Cream Barn and grab a scoop of something cold. I think everyone who comes here gets a cone of something; I don’t recall seeing anyone without a cone or cup of ice cream in hand. Prices are good, $ 3.95 got me and my girlfriend a 2-scoop waffle cone which was very large. I don’t know if the ice cream was their own but I found it to be very tasty. After completing all the mazes we walked around the farm stopping to see all the animals and taking in the scenery on a clear, sunny fall afternoon. Cool breezes came in from every direction and the day couldn’t have been any nicer. Beech Hill Farm is a great place to stop by if you have a few hours to kill as your are passing through New Hampshire. Don’t expect anything fancy or high end, just simple.

A beautiful setting, but the ice cream is not their own and was not special. Still, a nice place to stop by if you are in the area.

Great ice cream and great place to go in the fall to check out the scenery! Historic barn also includes farm stand, a petting zoo, and mazes. Ten minutes from downtown Concord, NH.
