Stopped in after another recommended BBQ joint was closed for inclement weather(5″ of melted snow… ridiculous) anyway, this place was fantastic. We arrived when there were maybe 5 tables filled(maybe 1⁄3 full). Within 20 minutes they were packed. We were seated and within two minutes a man(owner?) brought us a plate of ribs for free. They were excellent! Our toddler was starting to get fussy, so I told him we need a cup of beans, stat. He brought them out right away and our little boy ate them up! My wife and I had the ribs and my father in law had the pulled pork sandwich. The ribs were amazing and tender! I had sides of fried okra and hushpuppies. Both are notoriously hard to find up north where we live, so I was stoked they had them. Both were delicious. Very friendly staff and excellent, excellent food.

Per Unilocal in Conway Arkansas hog pen BBQ delivers. However when I called Hog pen and BBQ and ask if they delivered they said no.

This place was the absolute bomb for great tasting, fall-off-the-bone chicken and ribs. No frills — just a clean, straight-up family-friendly place that will easily satisfy the most discriminating tastes. The meat oozes with flavor melded in smokey heat, accompanied by tasty sides. You won’t be disappointed here, and neither will your wallet!

This place is the best! The owner came to our table and talked to us while we waited for our food. He was very kind. They son(I assume) brought us a platter of free ribs about 10ribs since this was our first time here. Highly recommended!!! You won’t be disappointed

Great food and great service! The owner came out and talked to us. Great ribs, bbq chicken, and cheeseburger! I even liked their pork skins and I never eat them.

This is without a doubt the BEST bar-b-q I’ve ever eaten. The down home friendly owner was an exceptional treat. Looking forward to becoming one of their regulars when I’m in town.

First BBQ I’ve had since moving down south a couple days ago. Awesome food. Pulled pork and catfish was great. Service was the best.

Enjoyed it… ribs were as rumored! Met the owner… seems hard not to… justifiably proud of the place and the family. Had Variety Dinner… too much Chicken Sausage was, frankly subpar… hard cooked end bit finally had rendered flavor Onion rings disappointed Ordered green beans, got baked No AmEx Party of six that expanded to nine had fun Would return Would get Rib Rack only

The BEST ribs I have ever had! My fiancé and I were driving through town and came across this restaurant for a late lunch and it was the highlight of our day! The Blues music in the background and Edison lights set a wonderful, relaxing tone and for our meal. We had wonderful service and conversation with the staff– everyone was very friendly! The ribs were amazing– not loaded with sauce and had a delicious, smoky flavor and were cooked to perfection! Very generous portions. Thank you for a great meal!

Service and atmosphere are great. The owner came to our table to chat after we got some homemade pork rinds. Made us feel very welcome. Better than a chain, you could tell this was homemade food. We hadthe fried okra, green beans, baked beans and coleslaw with ribs and riblets. Oh and Texas toast too! Prices were extremely fair and the place was packed the entire time we were there. So much food we had to take some home. Highly recommend !

Hands down the best bbque in the South and I dare say best I’ve ever had. Can’t believe it took me this long to discover it. Dry ribs are phenomenal and don’t even need sauce. Owner really good guy, sat and talked with us for half an hour. You gotta check out this spot

Delicious food and huge portions. The only negative Is the female owner is not very friendly and can come off as rude and impatient.

The food is good. Great potato salad. Service was poor, no refills on drinks. No checking back after we got our food. Took awhile to get waited on. Food is overpriced for portion sizes.

You could travel all around the South in America and still have really bad barbecue but if you go to the Hog Pen this place has the most amazing barbecue sauce the greatest cakes the staff is amazing the pork rinds are delicious I have yet to have anything at their place that was bad. I had the riblett dinner with fried okra and french fries. The lemon cake is out of this world if you are lucky enough to get a slice. I will be going back very very soon.

1000 times yes. Tip #1… when you walk in, if they don’t recognize you, say it is your first time. Trust me, I don’t want to ruin your surprise when they have a first timer. Tip #2 The ribs… do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars. Just order them and trust me. You will have a little trouble finding the place… it is worth the drive.

We found this stop on Unilocal and Trip Advisor. Great reviews at both places, so we thought… this will be supper tonight. Man, it’s everything we read, and then some more in our opinion. Between my wife and me, we ate ribs, chicken, sweet tator fries, regular French fries, green beans, cole slaw, Texas toast, and a chocolate and a coconut fried pie for dessert. The food was outstanding. The two sauces(spicy & regular) were both really good too. The meats we had were good without the sauce, but I enjoy sauce, so I dipped dunked drug and swirled my ribs thru the sauce. I’m a big boy and I love my food! If you’re up this way you must stop in and feed awhile at the Hog Pen. We met friendly locals there, friendly staff, and a really cool guy that happens to be the pitmaster and owner. Thanks to everyone from the couple from Tyler!

Best BBQ ever. Love the ribs, love the pulled pork, love the boudan, love the service. Every time we go through Conway we make sure we end up here, and we always order extra to bring home… always.
