My doctor referred me to Dr. Brian Russell at Russell Dermatology for a baseline exam. When I told my husband, who is very low-key, he enthusiastically responded, «Oh, he is GREAT! I really liked him!» We actually had met both Brian and his wife, Dr. Shelley Russell, at a party this summer, so I knew I would feel comfortable with him. But I had no idea how amazing the patient service would be! They called twice in the two days before my appointment to remind me. I arrived at 1:10 p.m. for my 1:15 appointment. I sat down and had barely cracked my book when they called me back. Thinking I would be waiting in the exam room for awhile after the nurse told me what to do and left, I got my book out. Again, I had no time to read, as Dr. Russell arrived just as I opened my book. We chatted a bit about Malcolm Gladwell(my book’s author) and other things. He told me how the exam would go and he called in his nurse. I felt very at ease and he talked to me about everything he was observing. At the end, he said there was a mole he would be more comfortable removing but said he was willing to watch it if that’s what I elected. I said I wanted to remove it as well, thinking I would have to make another appointment, but no! He did it right then. I was processed and out of the office in less than 30 minutes! Honestly, I couldn’t believe how fast it was, coupled with the quality interaction and the short procedure he performed. This positive impression was compounded when his nurse called and left me a voice mail about the results of the pathology test. I returned her call, again expecting delays and phone tag, but she answered the phone, gave me the results, and I was finished. This practice has patient service and relations down to a fine art! I also think both Drs. Russell are smart, personable, warm and adept. What a great experience all around! I recommend them without any reservations — that is unless you want to get some reading done. :-)
