I’ve been in this shop a few times over the years, usually just browse around and look at the kitchen gadgets, cookware & knives. If you are looking for high-​quality kitchen knives, this is the place. If you’re looking for high-​quality carrying knives, this is the place. If you want cheapo pieces of metal stamped out in China, this isn’t the place to find it.
Of course, you will also get high prices… I paid a $ 30 premium on a knife, over Amazon and other e-​retailers, because of the customer service experience.

Where has all the customer service gone? Apparently, it is still very much alive at Sawyer River Knife and Trading Company!
I found these guys on the Web during my search for a discontinued coffee maker and Trey provided amazing customer service. He was honest, friendly and took the time to answer questions. Maybe I’m just comparing this experience to the horrible experience I had with another online vendor (that sold me something defective and responded as if it was my responsibility to fix it), but my faith in shopping online from non-​Amazon Multinational retailers has been restored. Thanks.
