Ok hotel for the price. Rooms were decent, staff was nice and helpful. But hotel management should realize putting a non smoking room above a smoking one doesn’t work. The smoke goes through the ceiling/floor

I was trying to get across the state to Alma, and there was some wild little thunderstorm and I couldn’t see much at all, and I-40 has some embankments without guard rails and I decided to call it a night, instead of trying to fight rain for 130 miles.(I didn’t know that it was finished a mile or two up the road.) In any case, this Super 8 presented itself and room 212 was good. Wonder of wonders, this was the first Super 8 location where I didn’t hear the plumbing all night – or any time I wasn’t using it! The bed was good and I used my own pillow so I can’t tell you anything about the pillows. I didn’t use a lot of the room. I tried to catch up on the computer and the WiFi worked but it seemed busy but not overloaded. My window was next to the off-ramp, so I could hear trucks now and then, and the air conditioning wasn’t very loud, so it didn’t keep the noise out but it wasn’t bad. It was around $ 75, which seemed a bit much but better that than paying $ 50 for a bad room.

We stayed here because it was close to our daughter’s college, Hendrix, just a few blocks away, and it had great reviews on other travel/hotel ranking sites. I was nervous when we arrived and saw a lot of semi trucks and large, burly men(apparently, they were workers on the Exon cleanup of the nearby oil spill.) We had stayed at the La Quinta before, and this wasn’t that different(not that extra room, but half the price, too!) But the room was very clean and felt roomy enough. It was also quiet, except for doors that automatically slammed shut. The staff, especially receptionists, was extremely warm and friendly and helpful. And you couldn’t beat the price. Despite my initial reaction, I would stay there again without a second thought!
