Bowen’s Septic Tank

Initially this was not going to be a very good review. I called them on a Thursday morning and asked when was the earliest they could be out to pump out my septic tank. The man said they couldn’t make it that day, but they could have somebody out the next morning at around 8:30 AM. I agreed to that and assumed I would see them the following morning at 8:30. Around 5:00 Thursday evening I got a call from the field tech stating that he could be at my residence between 7 AM and 7:30. I said that would be great because I work midnight shift and usually get home around that time anyway. By 8 Friday morning I still had not seen or heard from anyone so I called the field tech and asked if he got lost. He stated that I had called the previous night and cancelled my appointment. Obviously I didn’t or I wouldn’t be calling. I called the office and asked to talk to someone about a discount because I had not cancelled my appointment and THEY obviously made an error. The office person argued with me up and down saying that someone stating to be me calling from my number called them and cancelled my appointment the previous night. We went round and round and he finally agreed to give me a $ 25 discount because that was their current coupon. This was not acceptable to me because it was their error and I thought that they should do more. We finally agreed to disagree and hung up. When the field tech arrived we also discussed the situation and the real story came out. Someone with a name and phone number very similar to mine had actually called and cancelled their appointment the previous night but it was not me. The person in the office was not willing to accept responsibility for the error and was only willing to give me the $ 25 off coupon for the inconvenience. The field technician, David, did make it right, however, and that’s the only reason I’m giving this review 5 stars.

Called Bowens for Septic servicing and repair at the suggestion of my plumber on Friday. (I had called the plumber because my washing machine drain was back-​flowing into my laundry room and the plumber diagnosed it as a septic issue.) They offered to be out first thing Saturday morning but I declined due to a weekend trip I was taking. I was initially very impressed at their willingness to be right out on a weekend. They arrived promptly on Monday morning and after inspection it was determined the septic tank and field lines needed repair. Joshua and John did a fantastic job completing the work quickly and efficiently. I was concerned about the hardscaping I had just paid to have done last year and they even managed to dig up the yard and replace all of my stone hardscaping with very little disruption. Joshua uses that little machine like it is an extension of his hands. true craftsmanship! After repairing the inlet to the tank and the field lines they also installed a rise and filter to make my system a bit more trouble free in the future. I will definitely refer Bowens in the future and I plan on keeping them as my septic servicers going forward. I can’t thank Joshua and John enough for their great work!

These guys are experienced, show and explain everything that’s going on, and they will follow up accordingly. I recommend these guys over anyone.

Great service. They did a great job even while I was clueless. They took time to explain and give me proper maintenance tips. They guy who helped me, I think David was his name, was courteous and very friendly. I only took off a star b/​c they arrived a little bit outside of their appointment window. I understand things come up, I’m just glad I had nothing planned. However, I will continue to support this business. They deserve it. (The price was great too!)

I had them come out to service our septic system. I had been under the impression that every 5 – 10 years would be acceptable, but with our system being 27 years old, every 3 years would be better. I’m so glad I called them. The system cleaning was going to be about $ 350. But what they discovered would have cost me all new plumbing had I waited another 2 – 5 years. Our concrete baffle had eroded away and our field lines were clogged. They did fix everything and give me specifics on how to keep it happening again. They whole job cost about $ 2400. It was money well spent to prevent future problems. They explained everything that needed to be done and offered me the best alternatives and gave me some money saving tips. I was very satisfied with the professionalism and promptness of the work completed.
