First time in Caney Fork Bicycle & can’t say enough how impressed I was with the owner and his genuine — take his time to help you attitude! I recently found out about a boy that was living with his grandmother and had moved here going to school, riding a bike to school and back, that was way to small for him. I took a bike in to have repaired and new brakes put on I was going to give to the boy. I got a call from owner(Kurt I think) explaining my bike had more issues and that it wasn’t worth repairing for $ 150 bucks. I appreciated his honesty because I would have paid it and wouldn’t have known any better. He explained he had one someone had traded in for $ 200 that was a much better bike this boy could use through the growing stages(he’s an 8th grader and rides bike everywhere, even to get groceries for his grandma) so I told him I would think about it and let him know. I went in the next afternoon to buy and get my old bike and it had sold. I explained the situation to him about who I was buying bike for and he was so nice and said, «let me see what I can put together and I’ll call you tomorrow.» I didn’t expect to hear from him so promptly because he was busy with customers every time I had been there, but at 3 pm Friday he called and said, «I’ll have you a bike with several gears and new tires ready by closing time.» I didn’t ask price but was expecting to pay at least $ 200. My husband and I went in right before closing time at 6 and he was busy with a few customers but said to us he had just finished using several pieces off different bikes and rolled out this nice looking blue bike. He rings it up and only charges me $ 83!!! So all this work and made NO money but had compassion and wanted to help this child that neither of us know the child’s name, says EVERYTHING about this business and its owner. It’s rare to experience a business that goes above and beyond not to make money but to help someone in the community. I hope he is blessed as much as he blessed this boy and that his honesty and integrity will take this bike shop to the highest level of success because he deserves it!!! Thank you Caney Fork Bicycle, Joyce Gray

I went in to buy some specific cleats. He did not have them and tried to sell me something else. Not what I wanted and that’s OK. But then he started«the lecture.» Rude as heck.
