Called to place a to-go order. First they had me on hold for 15 minutes. Then I called again and I gnat remember who took my order, but she was not nice at all.

Visiting from Los Angeles to see my very talented niece perform in the Tennessee Tech. Univ. orchestra playing flute and clarinet recently, and the whole family decided to go to Cheddars at the last minute. We got there about 10:30 pm(closes at 11:30 pm) so the staff were cleaning and doing their side work. All six of us were seated and waited upon by Tatum who was very helpful, polite, and friendly. Three of us ordered club sandwiches which really were awesome and big enough portions with fries to share. My niece also ordered their cookie desert which looked just insane and also which she apparently seemed to thoroughly enjoy. Tatum came by often to make sure that our drinks were always filled and everything was fine. This was my first time ever visit to a Cheddars and would highly recommend. In summary, everything really was perfect!

Food quality has went down compared to the many times we have been there before. My wife ordered the country fried steak, it was mostly a breaded wad with no steak. The chicken tenders I ordered were over cooked.

I have to say, I’m really surprised at the decline in quality of service and food here. My husband proposed at this Cheddars a little over 6 years ago. So naturally, we tried to go often. This last visit was pretty rough. We both ordered the ribs and tenders meal. When it arrived his looked amazing and mine not so much. The chicken was great but my ribs were so dry I couldn’t get the meat off the bone. It took forever for the waitress to come back to our table so we could tell her, but eventually she got a manager to us. The manager assured me a replacement would be sent quickly. Fifteen minutes later, and he has to apologize again for the wait, I finally got edible ribs. And the craziest thing of all… They didn’t even offer to discount the meal after the first set of ribs were terrible and the second set came after my husband was done eating. So so sorry to say that will be our last trip to that Cheddars. :(

first time here. went with my son. service was friendly and prompt. we had hamburgers. He had bacon burger and I had pepper burger. no complaints with the burgers. Prices were reasonable, but portion of fries was quite small for $ 2.19. Sodas were the same price, but we’re 75% ice. Though waiter probably knew this, as he brought us refills without our asking.

Wow, what a great visit. The service was excellent, the food great and the atmosphere superb. We were met at the door with a smile, the server was exceptional trying every way she could to make sure we had a great experience. I had the veggie plate and it was too much food to eat. Wife had salmon and said it was delicious. Our friends had chicken tenders and the were perfect. You must order the onion rings, what a delight. Whoever is managing this place knows what they are doing and have a fantastic training program. Our only regret is that we live three hours away. I wish we could move this restaurant to Alabama! The next time we visit the Smokeys we will definitely stop here on the way and on the way back.

Ate here a couple of weeks ago. It always looks busy and someone told me they were great, so we tried it out. The service was okay(I think the waiter was new, he was pleasant, but didn’t know how to clear the table). We did get the mozzarella sticks which were fine(hard to get that wrong). I had the steak and ribs with mashed potatoes and a salad. The potatoes and salad were fine, nothing to write home about. The steak was tough and the ribs were dry and seasoned with someone that taste like it came out of bottle(like those«smoke» flavorings). The portions were fine, couldn’t eat it all, but I really didn’t want too. My meal was $ 15.00, and I don’t think it was worth it. My husband and daughter weren’t to impressed with their meals either. I don’t think we will be back.

Came here tonight for the Monte Cristo, the server told us they were out and run out every Sunday of the same few dishes. I understand that this might happen one time, but when it happens a second time the management should know how to order their food supply so this doesn’t happen a third time. I would like to know what the GM or Regional Manager says about this.

Great food. Great prices. Nice atmosphere. Three components that make this a great place, especially for lunch during the week. If you have an hour lunch, this is one of the best places for a sit down lunch in Cookeville. They have ample seating so there is little to no wait. I mean who wants to spend their lunch time in the lobby of a restaurant rather than at the table. Most dishes cost less than $ 10 and service is always friendly! Their menu can be hit or miss though. The Shephards Pie is my fave for a hearty selection, for a lighter choice the Buffalo Chicken Wrappers, Monte Cristo sandwich, or one of their burgers is a great choice. Hands down best side dish is Broccoli casserole! Nice aquarium for kids and tons of booths for large groups. They also have a bar. Great place for gathering with friends family or coworkers.

Went on a Sunday afternoon… three of the four things we tried to order they were out of. This is not something that should be happening at a popular restaurant on one of the most popular days of the week. If you’re planning on enjoying a nice meal here, I’d definitely consider calling ahead to make sure they have available what you are considering for your entrée.

Not usually a chain restaurant type diner but I have to say this was a surprise. All of our food was out quick and the server was filling our glasses before we would even run out. There are a lot of choices here on the strip but I would choose this for price and service.

Good food. Atrocious service. The service was so bad, so distastful, it was infuriating.

Honestly a ½ star is more than they deserve! My family and I ate there tonight if you want to call it that. We were seated quickly and then sat and waited 10 minutes before our waitress arrived to take our drink order. Onion rings for an appetizer. Huge pile of grease with possibly some onion in there. Ok maybe the entrees will be better… WRONG! The food we ordered tasted awful. Chicken fingers… Butterfly Shrimp and fries. All greasy and tasted old. We expected some grease as it was fried food but this was old overly saturated clog your arteries kind of grease. We didnt even come close to eating all of our food. We paid… we left never coming back. I feel like that small portion I did eat has now made myself and my wife enter the beginning stages of heart disease. Thanks Cheddars! Ugh!

The star — system is totally subjective, of course. Three and half stars. This was our first experience with Cheddar’s and we were impressed. Chains are not our favorite dining choice, but sometimes you take what you can get and this place had several positive reviews. Very pleasant — the atmosphere and staff were great. I had a double-decker club sandwich on potato bread. The side was a broccoli casserole. Very tasty. Wife had the grilled chicken salad with lime dressing. She loved it. We were hot, tired and hungry and left satisfied. We would go again.

Service was great. Food was better. Try the buffalo chicken wrap. We are from Virginia. I hope Cheddars comes to Richmond soon. Only time I can visit one is when we come here.

Pretty good overall experience, service was attentive and polite. I had the chicken fingers with mashed potatoes and cheesy broccoli. Tim had chicken fried steak with potatoes and red beans and rice. Everything tasted scratch, and for all the fried crap I ate it gave me minimal indigestion. The tenders were really good, juicy well seasoned, maybe just a touch more breading than ideal but still awesome. Everything tasted very good. Cheesy broccoli was more cheese than broccoli and that may be expected down south where cream gravy is a food group. Tim said the fried steak was crisp and substantial. Drinks were just okay, but reasonable in price.

Cheddar’s– the true American restaurant. I frequent Cheddar’s whenever I’m around one. The Philly cheesesteak is my go-to, but the salads and the spicy chicken wrap are great too. The best thing about Cheddar’s is that you pay the same price or less than you would at Ruby Tuesdays, O’Charley’s, or Appleby’s, and get so much more food. There is another Cheddar’s in Mount Juliet, TN outside Nashville. You won’t regret visiting this place.

Cheddars doesn’t advertise, by the look of their parking lot and the wait outside the restaurant, looks like they don’t have to. Cheddars is the busiest place on «restaurant row» that’s because of their good food, service and low prices. My favorite dishes include the cajan chicken pasta, fish tacos, or buffalo chicken wraps. Instead of fries, I always get the cheesy broccoli casserole. Also don’t forget to start your meal with spinach dip, queso or a stack of onion rings.

Nice chain restaurant that advertises made from scratch cooking. Right off the bat, I liked the interior. Recessed lighting, wood throughout, and a stylish room fan set the atmosphere and give it a little bit more class. The Shepherd’s Pie was savory and larger than I expected. It was traditionally made and also had fried onions on top that added a nice flavor accent to the dish. The Chicken Caesar salad was fairly standard although it looked like they added a large size chicken breast. The Chicken Pot Pie was served in the bowl it was baked in and had a nice brown crust. There is a sizeable drink menu and it looks like the prices are fairly reasonable. Service was professional, timely and friendly. If you’re on the road near Cookeville and need to eat, there are a bazillion choices but you should definitely consider Cheddars. And I don’t even work there.
