OMG! This place is AMAZING! Driving between Knoxville and Nashville with my daughter and we just happened to stumble upon the Saltbox Inn and I am so glad we did! A real hidden treasure! The inn is very charming, amazingly well decorated. From the kitchen to the bedrooms, everything is immaculate and incredibly furnished. The only down side to our stay was that we arrived at 8pm and left the next day at 8am, not nearly enough time to enjoy the Saltbox. Gorgeous yard with every kind of outdoor space you might want: fire place, amazing pool, hot tub, tree house, tree swing and a lot of cute seating areas. We didn’t get a chance to explore the barn area, but it is clear they host beautiful weddings with a few cool old cars for photo-ops! It seemed like every where we turned there was some new, incredible thing to see or explore! The hosts Ed and Suzanne were lovely, and overly accommodating! Suzanne loves to chat so make sure you make some time to sit down and talk with her! I’ve stayed at dozens of bed and breakfasts and this is absolutely one of the best I’ve seen!

There is no way to put into words how distinctively beautiful and charming this place is. From the genuine warmness of the hosts, Ed and Susanne, to the hand-laid bricks that make up most of the main house, to the period-centric décor, Saltbox Inn does NOT disappoint. (Bonus is the crystal clear, refreshing pool, the made to order country-style breakfasts, and the immaculate grounds to wander. You simply can’t stay here once and not return again!)
