Parkers is by far the cheapest(money wise) gift shop in Cook Forest. The clothing you buy there lasts years(unlike other more expensive shops). The people are friendly, the shop has a lot to offer. They even have a «panning station» where kids can be kids. I found it kind of cheesy, but my niece LOVED it. Ended up leaving with a hoodie, a kids t-shirt, some candy, and the gems for less than 35 dollars. Can’t complain about that. All in all Parkers is the place to visit. And don’t forget the family photo with Yogi. Ask someone to take your photo, people are more than friendly in the forest :-).

Awe, Parkers! There’s nothing quite like a rubber spear and a feather headband to make you the most feared chipmunk hunter in all of Cook Forest! Now that I am a retired chipmunk hunter(old age and all), I still love this place! Great place to pick up a tshirt or key chain. They also have a big’olé stature of Yogi Bear for a photo opportunity! So even if you don’t buy anything, stop and take a photo! My parents used ot make me pose for one every year, and now I have ones from college, with my husband, and one I took after I bought my first car! Kids might not know who Yogi is anymore, but that’s okay. Get the the headdress and the spear and make them pose for a picture.

We visited this little gift shop after hiking on some trails in Cooks Forest. It is a small shop with all of the gifts or souvenirs you would expect. You could by shirts, hats, knick knacks, knives-you name it, they had it, all with the Cooks Forest name attached. Two little old ladies were working and got a kick out of our kids checking things out. They were sweet. We spent about 15 minutes in here just perusing what they had to offer. What did we leave with you ask. Well, of course the kids had rock candy suckers, bags of chips, wooden indian flutes and a plastic toy shotgun. We are kid souvenir suckers I guess.
