When I am near Anoka I love to stop at this place. I have had great tasting food here such as the walnut shrimp and the Sesame chicken are two of my favorites here. A great place to come to for eating in my opinion. I was here at dinner time and all the food was warm to eat, I have eaten here several times before and I have never complained about the food here.

The good : Good food Decent sushi Nice Mongolian grill Food is always hot Prices not too bad For AYCE it isn’t too bad The walnut shrimp is the best The bad: Out dated décor Staff can seem unhelpful at times Crab legs seem water logged The crawfish is lacking in flavor and too can be water logged

Great restaurant. Quick and easy with kids. Prices are a little high for the quality of food you get.

The décor of the place is okay, but the food definitely makes up for it. Everything I’ve tried there is good and the Sushi is fresh and awesome. The Dumplings are amazing and have an ice cream stand. Overall, The place is amazing.

Read the reviews thinking new people own the place place since the last time I was here let’s give it a try. Never again with Rose Garden close I would never waste my time with this place again. Guang Zhou is the best Chinese BUFFET in the north metro with Rose garden a close second. 10 minutes later my stomach doesn’t feel so hot not sick just grumbly. another reason not to not come here again

We drove a half hour to eat here on a recommendation. The food is pretty decent– above average for a Chinese buffet. But we were there mid afternoon and it was all cold. That says to me that the staff isn’t willing to make smaller batches and keep refreshing stuff during off-peak times because they don’t care. That notion is entirely backed up by the wait staff, who treat you like you’re a burden rather than someone giving them money. Maybe it’s worth it during peak times when they may actually serve fresh food, but I will certainly not be making the drive again to find out.

I go for the fresh stir fry grill and standard sushi available. Other then that pretty standard Chinese buffet. Every one is nice and my soda glass is never empty. Table side pay is available too.

Went out for dinner last night(Friday) about 8:30ish. We got there, got our drinks and headed to the buffet. I had fresh plate off the grill. My son had crab legs. ICECOLD! My buddy had lo mien, ICECOLD!!! WTFREALLY? I headed back to the grill for a second plate, there was a guy standing up on the grill, cleaning the hood, at 9pm? They are open til 10pm… sayd the sign on the door. WTF. Ok I’m done eating at this point. My son goes to grab a bowl of ice cream before we go, they got the machines all torn apart, all over the buffet, keep in mind there is food out and customers still eating. who does this. ITSUCKED, I will never go back to that place. Get a clue, when your open dont clean and take everything apart!!! If i could give negative 5 stars i would.

This is the best Chinese Buffet I’ve ever been too. I live near St. Paul and haven’t found anything in the Cities that compares. Great selection! I don’t love everything, but the food I do love is almost always perfect, which is saying a lot for a buffet. The best part is the sushi. I’m not a fan of most sushi(I don’t like raw fish), but I go out of my way for their sushi(especially the ones with their marinated crab meat). I often order a sushi roll to go. $ 5 and they make it exactly how I want it. Each roll is cut into 8 large pieces. It is absolute heaven! They have an excellent soy dipping sauce too(found over by the potstickers, not in the sushi area). The entire combination is delicious! I had it on Saturday and I’m already craving it again. Well done, Mandarin Buffet!

I have eaten here many times. The best times to go are rush hours, food is always hot and fresh this way. They have many types of sushi, deserts and the usual rice, pepper chicken, egg rolls and wontons. Not bad for 10.99 a person.

Let me start by clarifying that I’m not the one who chooses to dine here. It is my family’s(well, my bf’s family) go-to because it is halfway between the 6 – 8 of us that meet for dinner. If I was paying the bill, and had my choice of anywhere in the north metro to dine, I would most definitely not choose here. But the family prefers this buffet because it is reasonably cheap for a large group, quick, and conveniently located. And like I said, I’m not picking up the bill, so you bet your ass I’ll show up and eat here. The first few times I came here I was content. But I feel like it’s gone to sh*t in the last year. I’ve heard some things about new management, maybe even a few times. There is a lot of variety, but I have been narrowing down the range of edibility here, so there’s not too much of it I eat anymore. Have you ever had something that’s very wet but also dry? I know, it blows my mind and I hate it. But this is how I describe the crab legs. Sometimes you get a rare flavorful one with the right texture, or one that tastes like an old slightly bitter tree branch. The sushi used to be decent for AYCE, but the last several times I went, they were mostly filled with vegetables and/or imitation crab. And at this point I find their raw fish questionable. Stick to the soup and hibachi. I do like to indulge in some of their deep fried items, but that’s hard to screw up. Except when they do screw it up and the food is soggy and room temp. I would probably eat more of their buffet items if I didn’t get a huge stomach ache after every time I come here. 2 stars because at least it’s quick and cheap and tolerable. Like your freshman class of college.

We’ve been there several times and it has been both very good and very bad! When we first went, there was a peanut chicken that my bf LOVED; in fact, we went back the very next day! Since the beginning it has turned into chicken with peanut butter smeared on top that is gritty with sugar! Needless to say, he doesn’t even bother with it anymore. He finds other things that satisfy. Luckily, the things I like best have been consistent: mai fun, sushi, stuffed mushrooms and these AMAZING little things that are made with phyllo dough(maybe?) and stuffed with cream cheese and honey! Yum! I’m hesitant to eat much with meat because there’s usually some gristle hiding somewhere.yuck. I’m bad at being a meat eater! The broccoli I pick out of the Beef and Broccoli always seems fresh, though! The service is exactly the way we like it. We can basically sit where we want with very little conversation and no one hovering over us! The servers are easy to flag down and have always seemed perfectly fine in their attitudes.

Chinese food gone bad… Very poor quality… Go to new king buffet in Brooklyn, 98pounds buffet in Minneapolis, or the grand buffet in st. Paul… Much more worth for your money… I called and ask if they serve crawfish at 2:30, and they said yes«WESERVEITALLDAY» … Drove 20mins only to find out that they do not have crawfish that day! Super upset and talked to the manager and didn’t get any apology or whatever! VERYBADCUSTOMERSERVICE!

I’ve been going to this restaurant for years — and there is a reason — fresh food. The rice is fresh, the fish is fresh, the beef is fresh, even the pizza is fresh. Top that with great sushi, and a Mongolian Grill. There is something to like for everyone. That must be why I rarely see this place without a full crowd. As a general rule I avoid buffets; don’t make that mistake with this hidden gem.

My family goes here so often that they know us by name. Here is a quick rundown. 1. We typically need a table for 8, and they never seem to make us wait more than a couple minutes while they combine the tables. 2. They always have crab legs. 3. They have a great selection of ‘american’ food for kids, like pizza and donuts. 4. Mongolian Grill, no extra cost, but sometimes a hefty line. 5. Staff are super friendly, always keep your glass filled, and always take your plate from your table before you have had the chance to fill up another one and sit back down to stuff your face. 6. Parking is ample. 7. Coconut Shrimp. 8. Sushi — and its not skanky either. 9. Fresh fruit. 10. Ice cream(OK, ice milk) with toppings and other deserts like bars and cookies. 11. Delicious soup. 12. Always fresh and items are filled/replaced regularly. 13. Crane game — waste 50 cents on the thrill of the grab. 14. Clean, but I suggest bringing your own wet wipes if you choose to partake in crab legs, that way you don’t have to get up and wash your hands in the kinda icky bathrooms(I am a bathroom snob). 15. Good price.

The 3rd best Chinese buffet i have ever been to. Panda Garden, Andover, MN is #2 A Vegas hotel is #1. I will simply say. The food selection at this place blew me away. You could combine 15 mom-pop shops into this place. I didn’t try the Mongolian BBQ because i was overwhelmed with the lines each time. Clean, Organized, Fresh. Great food! I’ve been here about 10 times and will be coming back. Nice place to bring Mom or Dad !

It’s the best one in the area, but that’s not saying much. If you’re not there during peak times, the food is literally COLD and WILL make you sick. The staff, well, is less than desirable. Most of the food is swimming in oil, typical for a buffet. The Mongolian BBQ is actually pretty good! That’s about all I would take my chances on. Ample parking, which is always a plus. Dinner is WAY over priced, you can get a decent steak dinner across the highway for the same price.

Mandarin Buffet is okay. Not mindblowingly great, but it’s great if you need a quick bite to eat. The buffet is always accessible, they have an extensive selection of Americanized Chinese dishes, and they have sushi. I love the little cookies they have there too, very crispy but not too sweet. Balances out a savory meal. I haven’t had the greatest experience with the staff. The one time I asked for a box for my leftovers, the buffet attendant yelled at me and told me no leftovers could not be taken under any circumstances. Yikes! Maybe I pinched a nerve? I’ll have to agree with Norton, very stoic, Asian staff. Not incredibly friendly. I avoid talking with them because they state things very bluntly and can be intimidating at times. But the food is decent, the sushi is always a plus, and I love those little cookies! Mmm mmm.

The Mandarin Buffet is pretty typical of Chinese buffet places. They have decent food, decent selection, and a stoic, Asian staff. But what makes them unique is their Mongolian style stir fry station. Now I’m not a big fan of that Mongolian BBQ chain, but I do like these guys. I’m not sure what the difference is. It’s a small salad bar-like set up where you can pick out beef, chicken, pork, or steak for meats and various vegetables. The sauces are by the cook. The cook stands at a big griddle and stir fries it up for you. Maybe it’s the sauces. Maybe it’s the little shrimps. Maybe it’s the super fresh bean sprouts. I don’t know. It’s yummy. It’s tasty. Not like the chain. It could be that I detest the appetizers at the chain and that ruins the rest of the experience for me. But I digress… If you have a Chinese buffet near you, these guys aren’t any more special than that one. We usually hit this place when we go to the local Lowes, as it’s right down the street. If you’re in the neighborhood, it’s worth a stop in.
