I knew what I was getting myself into when I booked a room during HOF Induction ceremony. I read the reviews and walked in with the worst expectations. However; I really wanted to stay in Cooperstown so I bit the bullet and rented here. When booking ahead, they ask you to mail in a check or cashier’s check to reserve your room(basically you are paying cash upfront). There were no issues here. I can’t recall if my check was cashed before I arrived or after. The room itself is a dump. They have a shaggy rug from the 1960s. The bathroom was extremely small and just old. The toilet was broken and fixed. They offered old Ivory soap. The soap was so old that the packaging was yellow. The room had an AC window unit. The big box TV that’s mounted to the wall broke our last day. I will say that location is very convenient. Easy 10 – 15 minute walk to the main street, the trolley stop is in the corner, there’s a convenience store across the street with good coffee, a good grocery store next door and it’s walking distance to Clark Sports Center. IF I ever had to stay here again, I would but ONLY if i had zero options. Good luck!

Reviewing Albert O’Brien as a former tenant of one of his apartment houses– I warn you now– DONOTRENTFROMTHISMAN. First of all, he never returned my security deposit after I moved out and never even provided an explanation why, even after I requested one. The apartment was left clean and undamaged. He actually hung up the phone on me. Do not force yourself to spend a year’s lease renting from this rude, uncaring landlord. His employees will tell you to pay for repairs to the apartment yourself(i.e. broken shower faucet) stating that«Al won’t pay for that. That’s just Al.» The apartments themselves are pretty crummy. The floors are *painted* which has a sticky, tacky texture in the heat– which by the way, will be all year long. My apartment was always HOT. It was also dirty when I moved in, even after I asked them to clean it first. By that point all of my stuff was in a U-Haul and I just wanted to get moved in. I imagine there is an unpenetrable layer of filth covering the surfaces of the apartment. I have also heard terrible things about his motel. Don’t do business with this guy.

Only stay here if it is the last room available within a 50 mile radius of Cooperstown. The room will take you back to the 1940’s. Bathroom is a joke and so so so small. The pillows are as thick as a sheet. Stay away !!!

Not a bad motel for ~ $ 100.00 a night. A few miles away from the center of town, the main street and the Hall. The motel is right next to a Price Shopper which is convenient if you are traveling and want to bulk up on supplies before hitting the road. The hotel itself is nice clean and roomy with the front door(key entry) and some of the fixtures a little on the old side. This hotel is cash only which can be inconvenient if you are on an extended trip and are cash strapped. The motel owner is very nice and will regale you with HoF stories and show you his collection of photos and HoF items.

Hands down, the worst experience you can have at a hotel or motel in Cooperstown for the Hall of Fame. First off, one room cost well over $ 100. Not a terrible price, until you see the state of the room. The mattresses had sinkholes in the middle telling me they had not been replaced in decades. The general musty smell was more like a $ 30-$ 40 basement room. Upon checkout, my iPad went missing. The only people in the room during our stay were the three people with me and the motel staff. The owner did nothing to help. Instead, he yelled at me and said it was my fault it was gone. I emailed the motel twice, two weeks apart, asking them to look again to find it. There was no response after the first email, and the second email informed the motel that I would have to involve law enforcement unless the situation was rectified. That email was sent at 12:30AM. Miraculously, I received a response at 8:30 am saying the iPad was found, behind a dresser, wedged against the baseboard. Isn’t that the perfect place someone would place their iPad? Fascinating. When I called the motel owner, he stated I had to pay for shipment of the iPad back to me, and also said I was rude because he had to pay someone to clean the room and I didn’t tip him. Pay to clean a room?! Isn’t that supposed to happen after EVERY stay by a guest? Needless to say, there was nothing positive I can say about this establishment. The owner had no customer service, the price was far too high, and the staff may or may not have«misplaced» my iPad for a few weeks until the threat of law enforcement was used.
