Great atmosphere(really nice outdoor patio) and really friendly staff. However, their BBQ was sub par, there was no smoke ring present on their brisket, their pulled pork was dry and both meats had no smoke flavor and no fat at all. Their best sauce was the pucker pig, the other two were over seasoned and the bourbon sauce was strange all together. Their $ 3 sweet tea was terrible(might have been instant powder) and their sides were mediocre(collards weren’t what you’d find down south) except for their Brunswick stew, which was actually done right, lots of meat and good balance of tomato and spice. In the end I gave them two stars, one for the great staff and atmosphere and one for the stew.

I would not suggest this place. We asked for a beer list, and couldn’t get one, or the prices. We ended up going off of the waitress’ memory, and which wasn’t the best since she didn’t know all the bottles.(which is why you need a beer list) BBQ in its name makes you think of a smoke pit, or at least a grill. That is not the case here. I ordered a triple combination of ribs, ¼ chicken, and brisket. Everything was oven cooked. The only flavor their meat has is the ten cents in BBQ sauce they brush on. The brisket was cooked in water, and was soggy(not juicy), overdone/terribly bland. The sides were ok, but nothing special. Overall I paid $ 36 for a serving of alcohol, and cafeteria bland food. Not worth it! I would not call this an ale house, or BBQ!

We were there for a team party. Outdoor area need to be redesigned because we were very hot sitting in the afternoon sun. Would be easy to put a better shade in. Food was ok, a little pricey as everything is in the area. Service was very good and big groups are difficult.

Delicious brisket and ribs. Mac and cheese was awesome. Collard greens and baked beans were good but a little different.

I had a great meal tonight, the NY Brisket sandwich with coleslaw. The staff was super friendly, and helpful. Our waitress Michaela(not sure of the spelling) was very friendly. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese, I tried a little and it was awesome. It was a nice atmosphere.

This place is a must try! And it just opened this season. My husband and I were in town for a Cooperstowns trip and ate here for dinner one night. Amazing! We shared the ribs for two and it was tasty. It also came with four sides. We chose the collard greens, the sweet potato mash, mac and cheese, and the spicy pickles. The collard greens are out of this world! Simply delicious! The vinegar really makes it pop. Wish I had room for dessert but Im stuffed!
