Dudek Polish Bakery

Excellent polish bakery! Great selection of breads and sweets, but they sell out of stuff fast. Makowiec is made regularly (I know it’s there every weekend), but like I said it sells out quick. Great babka, occasionally they have a plum pie that is out of this world. This is a great representation of how desserts should be done and why Poles are great at making them – the cheesecake has subtle flavors and sweetness unlike the American counterpart. I’d recommend that makowiec (poppy seed cake), babka, plain cheesecake (krakowia), and szarlotka (apple pie) — these are all excellent! all of the breads are good too. this place is a gem! Visit polmart next door and Eurodeli across the street (this place has the best kielbasa and sausages I’ve tasted (get the swojska kielbasa and try to bloodwurst), they are made on premises and you can smell the smoking of the meats from the train station). mmmmm:)

I got Makowiec here once and it was really great. Makowiec is usually a holiday bread, so I never saw it stocked again, even when I came back during holiday time. They have a good bread selection.
