I have been a client of Roy Valdes since law school back in 1989. His knowledge and talent in finding the right frame is unsurpassed.
As a personal injury trial lawyer I am in front of judges and juries frequently. I need glasses that are both conservative and yet not too nerdy.
Mark Jensen the store’s manager has a true passion for sunglasses and frames and owns one of the world’s most valuable collection of luxury eyewear.
Together they provide a level of service and professionalism that is unmatched.
Expensive? Yes, but worth every penny.

Worst retail shopping experience of my life. Asked them to order me a specific set of Persol frames that they did not have in stock. Was told it would take two weeks to get the frames. I waited, patiently, then when the frames arrived I was told that I only had 24 hours to come in and purchase them or they would not be available to me. It was a Thursday and I told the sales person I would not be able to come in until Sunday, because I was very busy. She told me she was sorry but I only had one day to buy the frames. So those two weeks were entirely wasted. Avoid this retailer at all costs.

I was at Merrick Park with my mom and planned on visiting this store to check out some Oliver Peoples frames. I changed my mind when she told me she was treated very poorly by a sales assistant a couple of years ago. She asked for help finding a pair of glasses for herself, and the assistant looked her up and down and said, «I don’t think we have anything for you.» Now, this was after a pair of Cartier glasses were stolen from her car, so I can assure you she could have afforded to buy anything in that store.
If a store is going to make assumptions based on people’s appearances, they don’t need any of my disposable income (and I certainly don’t want them to have it). I took my business elsewhere, and I bought a nice pair of vintage Oliver Peoples at a store in the design district post-brunch at Michael’s Genuine Food and Drink.

Wonderful Service!!!
We were visiting friends in Miami and we wandered into The Village. My sunglasses needed tightening since a lens had fallen off.
Mr. Valdes was busy with other clients when we walked in, but when he became available, he gave us his utmost attention. He fixed my glasses right away. As he was cleaning them, I was ready to pay a fee. Upon handing over my newly repaired glasses he said it was complimentary.
Excellent service at the right price. Thank you Roy!
