yeah it’s small but it’s got that artsy small town feel since it’s in the gables. i kinda felt like i wasn’t in miami for a second, and i liked it. large selection of spanish and argentine films, as well as others. love it. cult indie classic collection is great too.

Every time I get a recommendation for a fairly unknown foreign flick, I stop by Lion and pick it up — so far these guys are batting 100% with me, if the movie is worth watching — they have it! I strongly recommend that you make your way to this place and get your membership, these guys know their stuff, they are always willing to help and best of all this place is independently owned and operated —

this is by far the best video store for foreign film lovers… well, I think it’s the only one so not much competition there. they have an excellent selection organized by country of origin. it’s a small place but you could get lost for hours going through the selection — from the most recent mainstream new releases to the most obscure films you’ve probably never even heard of. as Liz mentioned in her review the staff is helpful and remarkably knowledgeable and will gladly make recommendations. if you are feeling adventurous in your at-home movie watching or just want to try something a little different, this is definitely the place to go

though not huge. to my knowledge it’s the only independent video rental place in miami. they also have a location in the upper east side(reviews the same) lion has the largest selection of foreign films in miami(yea!). that’s enough for me. the staff is also very helpful, they’re a wealth of information, so feel free to start up a conversation. they’ll also give it to you straight… no «it’s interesting» answers from them.
