Arrived before a friend and sat quietly for about 10 min before she arrived. The place was empty on a Saturday afternoon, not that great of a start. Used the free tea from Unilocal while i waited and its true, it needs lots of sugar. The free yogurt and bread to wait was a nice touch but wished the bread would have been hot. The decoration is simple and it looks like they dont have that much staff. The food was OK, nothing to rave about. My biggest complain was the price, ended up spending almost $ 40 per person, but this is not an elegant or nice restaurant. I think that is way too high.

Really good Persian kebab but the prices are a little insane compared to Persian joints in other cities. I don’t know why Persian kebab has to cost this much in Miami. Maybe the rents in Coral Gables are that high? But I just think this place is extremely overpriced, especially considering the condition of the very dour dining room. Also the portions are too small and the rice was not fresh. But the kebab itself was very good. The hummus was also very good.

SUCH a gem! Pomegranate stew was unforgettable. Chicken kabobs were perfect. Green basmati rice was delicious. Rose water and saffron Persian Ice Cream was the piece de resistance. Owners and servers were so pleasant, it was honestly refreshing for Miami. Must go back.

Traveling in Miami we searched for Persian restaurant and chose this one based on reviews. The four star reviews are false. Lunch time at 1:00 no one was in the restaurant… a hint we avoided. What we got: old undercooked rice with pre made chicken and ground beef skewers heated and served. We told the waitress and they offered no credit. We paid a wooping $ 60.00 for a lousy lunch… small portions. Avoid!!!

Great family owned Persian restaurant, friendly people with great service. I really liked their Barg Kabab, would recommend it to anyone looking for good persian food

We ordered two dishes, one recommended by the owner/waiter. Plates were small/stingy and lacked any presentation. In the first dish the chicken was overcooked and the rice did not have enough saffron or any other flavor except that provided by the dried berries. The beef in the second dish was supposed to be tenderloin but was very hard to cut/eat and did not have much flavor, such that we left half on the small plate. At $ 20+ per dish it is not cheap. The restaurant adds a mandatory 18% tip and they charge taxes on top of the tip, so a $ 20 becomes $ 25,40. The restaurant was completely empty for the hour plust we were there on a Saturday night. Ambiance, if any, was provided by a TV set with Iranian music(the mullahs did not approved the video because the female singers did not have modesty coverings) A huge disappointment.

I tried the delivery and it was pretty fast. Taste is very good, quite good options on the menu for a fair price.

A cute and quiet little place, easy parking, no wait, good service. The menu can be pretty pricey(cheapest entrée is about $ 15) but the portions are large, so if you split it with someone or take the leftovers home, it’s worth the cost. I don’t know how«authentic» this place is since I’m not Persian, but I have no complaints about the quality of the food.

I am Persian and know Persian cuisine very well. We had«ghormeh sabzi» with crispy rice or «tahdig» which was very authentic like my grandma’s. Also the stew with split beans«gheimeh» with eggplants was so good; just adding some more saffron would make a perfect«gheimeh» but then it would be much more pricy. Lamb shank with green rice and Lima beans was good, the only thing is the original recipe is made of Fava beans, not Lima, but Fava bean is not very popular in the US. The green rice had the wonderful smell of a locally made oil«roghan heivani». Persian ice cream was close to the best traditional ones with pistachio and saffron. I enjoyed this food experience very much and would strongly recommend it.

Fabulous Persian Restaurant!!! The dishes are all spectacular! I’ve visited this restaurant on several occassions and have tried different entrees and appetizers. I have yet to be dissappointed. The kabob is excellent, all appetizers are delicious, and the baklava and Zolobia are to die for! I cannot find anything bad to say about this establisment. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who like Persian food.

Expensive!!! I’ve gotten take out a number of times from this place. The food is good quality but overpriced. I usually order the chicken and rice or beef. So far as the staff goes the owner is usually there. Nice guy. They do offer delivery as well. I probably won’t go back as there are plenty of options around for Kabob.(You can basically get the same meal at Rice House of Kabob for almost half the price.) Might be worth a try for someone who is looking for something new.

The restaurant sits on a dimly lit corner on Ponce De Leon. It does not have any parking, but there is plenty of street parking all around the establishment. Upon entering the premises, we were welcomed and immediately shown to our table. There were two other tables dining with only one server, though this did not get in the way of outstanding service. He was very attentive and immediately brought over our menus and complimentary yogurt sauce with bread. While we browsed our menus, he made a few recommendations and explained some of the ingredients. I ended up ordering the Tenderloin Kabob with green rice and my husband had the Chicken Curry with Basmati Rice. The food was ready about fifteen minutes after we ordered. And, honestly, we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food! The tenderloin kabob was cooked to perfection and very tender with a delicious side of rice with herbs. My husband’s curry was also flavorful and spicy; he really loved it(AND he’s Indian). I really enjoyed my dining experience here. The only reason I knocked off a star is that I think dinner is a bit overpriced for what it is. I would definitely return for the lunch specials or their buffet on Thursdays. Overall, the food is good and fresh, and the service very pleasant.

The Eggplant appetizer is memorable and worth the visit. Add the exquisite Persian Stews and we will be back again and again.

I like to theme what I eat with my reads, so last year when I read a book by Marjane Satrapi I decided to come here. Since then, I’ve been back once in a while for their lunch buffet. It’s on Thursdays and at $ 12 it’s a nice lunch something out of the ordinary. There’s usually some type of lentil soup, salad, a ground beef kabob that’s nicely flavored, and some chicken. Also there’s a vegetable stew and a curry chicken. The curry chicken has only small bites of meat in it, but then I have tried other countries’ curry where the meat was just added sparingly as flavor more than as the star of the dish as we’re used to see here, so I won’t comment on that as I am no expert on Persian food. There’s also white rice, green rice and rice crisps. Black tea is offered in an urn. I was surprised to see the rice crisps. I know Chinese and Japanese eat them, but I didn’t expect to see them here. So I grabbed some, but when I got to the table I was not sure how to approach it. Trying to cut it with a knife will sure send it flying. Maybe I should eat with my hands? Lucky for me, a nice Iranian next to my table came over, and showed me how to soften it first by pouring some of the curry over it. I highly recommend giving it a try, whether you’re having buffet or ordering it at dinner. They do a good job keeping the buffet table filled. The buffet doesn’t have a large selection, but whatever it offers it’s nicely prepared and full of flavor — a flavor that is a bit exotic but not foreign. If you haven’t tried Persian cuisine, or this restaurant, before, the lunch buffet is definitely a good place to start. They don’t usually have pomegranate stew at the buffet, but that’s my favorite dish if ordering a la carte. Oh they have a yogurt soda. But don’t expect it to be your keffir with a bit more fuzz. This one is truly an acquired taste. I was told it’s healthy, and it perks your appetite, but definitely not mine…

Ate an early lunch here and it was absolutely delicious! Very friendly and great service. The chef came out to chat with us and ask about our food. I had the lunch special ground beef kebab with Greek salad and the beef was juicy and flavorful and the salad was crisp and tasty with a delicious dressing. Our party also had the herb stew with green rice and the split pea stew. Both were delicious and the herb stew in particular was excellent, one of our favorite Persian dishes. The chef said it was his mother’s recipe and he cooks everything by smell! Lunch specials varied from $ 9 to $ 15 and the entrees were roughly between about $ 14 to $ 20. Checked in on Unilocal for the free hot tea(was Earl Grey). Was told on Thursdays they have a buffet and would love to go back to try that sometime. There is an automatically added 18% gratuity but the chef who brought us our bill told us we could change the gratuity to be more or less when we charged our credit card so that was nice. Overall, excellent service and food, I highly recommend!

Came for lunch today for the first time. When I entered the place it was almost full and we were promptly seated. There is a lunch buffet for only $ 11.95 which is a great price for the Gables. I tried the buffet instead of the menu items and had green rice, grilled chicken, beef, salad, lentil soup and yogurt dip. The food was good, however there was only one waiter for the entire restaurant during the lunch rush, we wanted to have some water and had to wait some time before the waiter noticed us, and we tried calling him several times. I would return and give it another try.
