Fancy Nails

Got my nails filled here last friday and they already have chipped off and they don’t look good at all. Don’t go to this nail place!

Worst gel manicure I ever received. I got the manicure on a Thursday evening and the following Monday my polish was chipping. Like a previous poster, I’m not sure they even used gel polish, rather I think it was regular polish with a gel top coat. The man spent very little time on my actual nails, did not cut or file them, and used a minuscule drop of cuticle oil, 1 very tiny drop, for all 10 nails. My aunt and I went together and we were the only two people in the salon getting manicures and they sat us at the two furthest stations. I will never return and will get my aunt to come to my normal salon in Robinson.

Skip this salon. It was understaffed, over priced and the manicure was awful. I paid for gel but I don’t think he used gel polish. Everything was very rushed and my nails look like they were done a week ago. I’m so disappointed.

I did an internet search and found these folks when I was in dire need of a manicure after having moved to this area the week before. While they weren’t overly friendly there, the young man who did my acrylics was outstanding. I have lived in New Jersey, New York, and Vermont — believe me, these people are inexpensive compared to those places (usually $ 5 per nail for acrylics). I can’t speak for local nail salons, though. Their polish selection could be better, but since I was looking for something neutral, I was able to find something. Lots of dark colors, so maybe they should add some bold and bright colors too. I had about a ten minute wait, despite having an appointment, but since I had lots of time that evening, it was no problem. I’ll just know from now on to schedule extra time.
Tips are cash only, but they do accept credit cards.

When Fancy Nails took over this shop circa four years ago they were great. Unfortunately the service has gone downhill. The two owners, husband and wife team are nice and do a good job. That is where the good service stops! The other employees are too busy with their own conversations to listen to your needs. One employee, Lindsay acts as though she is doing you a favor by doing your nails. I stopped giving my business to these people a few months ago. There are other places much better and have tanning beds and do eyebrows.

I unfortunately was only able to go here once before moving soon after to a location that does not allow me to continue returning every few weeks.
However, I did not wait more than 10 minutes to be seen, the young lady who performed my fill and polish change did an excellent job. My only complaints are that their color selection is not very vast, most colors are very similar and not many bold colors. And, the young lady who did my nails, while she does excellent work, she was grumpy and quite rude when asking questions about my nails or taking personal requests from me. She also failed to pay attention to me once I was drying and I wasn’t sure how long since the dryers are only fan and not the lighting that I am used to. (I ended up smudging my nail, and she had another client so couldn’t fix it)
I would return and the prices are quite reasonable. And, location is easy since it’s in the Giant Eagle plaza and you can grab lunch or booze b

This nail salon is actually in the Giant Eagle shopping plaza off University in Moon.
The staff here talk and joke with you, which I love since I am naturally a talker. :)
The prices are decent to normal. They do not have tanning beds at this location and I dont think they do eyebrows.
For me, its a perfect location. Subway is next door. Wines and Spirits is 2 doors down and Micheal’s Hairloft is a few doors down so I can stop in and get a tan or get my hair done. See, perfect location! lol
