This is a very good Giant Eagle. The prices are a little too high, but there’s a good selection of things to buy. There’s a Citizen’s Bank branch in the store. The café is an okay bet for lunch.

4:30 pm, 11÷25÷10 Wow…after experiencing the big Giant Eagle~ Market District shopping extravaganza«store», this poorer, uglier, red-headed stepchild in the line of Giant Eagles was a lame ass as could possibly be. The ONLY things that saved it was a young gal in the bakery and the young gal at the customer service counter named Amber who was professional and prompt. The store itself is a smaller, messier version of the Giant Eagle at Robinson. The worst part is that the customer service was soooo bad it was a joke really. Many of the shelves were empty, you mean to tell me after the big Thanksgiving run they didn’t think or know that folks were coming in to shop? A few registers were open but with the almost comical representation of what people outside of Pittsburgh think that people in Pittsburgh are like. The cashier said NOTHING when I put my groceries on the belt and the bagger in my request to use my recyclable bags for the groceries«Sure you don’t want plastic? The planet is dying anyway so who cares?» Ha! I was like really dude? Really? Did you come to work on a short bus? It wasn’t like he was funny, he was just mean spirited, zitty and someone who was not happy to be making min. wage. When the transaction was done, the checker gave me my receipt, some coupons and again said absolutely NOTHING. I shocked her by saying in my loudest most obnoxious San Diego voice«Thanks so much, I really appreciated all your help.» She almost passed out from shock… funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time: oP I just don’t get why people are not basically grateful or happy to have a job, even if it’s only at a grocery store. So many people would love to be out of the cold and have what you guys have and seem to take for granted. I’m not sure, maybe they’re union but isn’t the basic premise that if you don’t have customers, you won’t have a job? At least that is what I thought.
