Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club

I visited this so called resort this week. The rooms were outdated to say the least, old fashioned t.v. drapery and bedding. But my biggest issues was the ROACHES, I spotted two in my bathroom, that made for an unpleasant experience. I WOULDN’T recommend this place to anyone.

Went here because of its location to my son. It’s 10 minutes off of 75 and has plenty of different types of lodging. If you enjoy camping they have hookups for TV’s, or you can pop a tent. They have spots along the water, and many more a stones throw away. The nicest spot seemed to be #1. It was close to a boat ramp yet it was private.
We stayed in the villas. Dogs are welcome in in this spot of the resort. The fee for pets was the most reasonable I’ve ever seen. First pet is free them 25 for each additional. The room was very nice. It was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The only thing I would say that needed to be changed was the tv. The grounds were in serious need of water but the 2 pools were nice. Nothing fancy but a great place to cool off. Our room was facing the lake with a screened in porch. We sat out there after the sun went down and watch the lightning from the approaching storm. There was plenty to do also. Rent a jet ski, go fishing, or a nice hike on a trail.
There were cabins also for rent or one could stay in the lodge itself. I would highly recommend going when gnat season is over. Those little bugs can ruin anything. We will go back when the weather cools down and this time bring the rv!
