Taking Dad for a late night ice cream run. Baskin Robbins was closed and Sheridan’s was open at 10PM, which you would think they would be considering it’s a Friday night and they are strategically located across from the movie theater. Dad just wanted to hit the drive through as he didn’t want to sit out on the patio. Sheridan’s would have gotten more stars if they would have had vanilla which is what Dad and I wanted. I was stumped, no vanilla? So he settled for one scoop of chocolate and a spoon in a cup. After three bites, he said he should have gotten two scoops and he didn’t offer to share. LOL! At least the price was very right, $ 1.79.

I love frozen custard so any place that offers it is guaranteed to get a decent rating from me. Sheridan’s is great, I’ve been coming here since they opened this location. The only thing that’s a bummer is they used to have Whoppers as an available topping but they took it off(this was years ago). But I’m not going to remove a star for something as minor as that. Since I cannot ever seem to make my orders simple anywhere, I find their chocolate custard to be way too chocolatey but of course vanilla is so… bland. So if I’m getting a concrete, I usually get some 50/50ish ratio of chocolate and vanilla. Never once have they messed it up and given me all chocolate or all vanilla, it’s always the perfect light chocolate that I am wanting. Whether I am ordering at the walk-up counter or through the drive-through, the service is always friendly, whether you’re going in the middle of summer when they’re slammed, or in the middle of winter when no one’s there. One of these days I’m going to have to try a pothole: a pool of topping(caramel, hot fudge, etc.) in the middle of custard. If you like Ben & Jerry’s core ice creams, this should be right up your alley.

We’ve been coming here for years! I always get the Vanilla custard with wild cherries(concrete). Delicious!

Seriously love this place. The service is quick and reliable and prices are pretty standard for an ice cream place. Not that this is ice cream– this is frozen custard baby! Yummmmy. The food itself gets about 4 stars from me, see below as to way I only ga e it three for my overall review! Sheridan’s has no inside access, it’s strictly drive thru or walk up only. I also noticed a sign in the window that they don’t accept bills larger than 20 so keep that in mind if you’re heading over there with a big group! My only wish is that they had better seating. There are maybe four concrete benches and that’s it. There used to be a few picnic tables back in the day but those were nowhere to be found during my last visit. The patio itself is also in serious need of a good power washing as it was extremely stained from years of spilled ice creams.

Stopped by here late one evening when I was in the area because I was having a S’more craving and there S’more concrete completely hit the spot. I like how I was able to order via the Drive thru and get it quickly so I didn’t have to wait outside in the searing Memphis heat. I will definitely be back, but only when I am in the area since both locations are pretty far way from where I live.

Best strawberry shortcake sundae I’ve had from a chain ice cream store that I can remember. The location has ample free parking, and its one of those ice cream places where you order from outside. My only complaint is that they don’t have enough outdoor seating for their patrons, due to their popularity.

Custard gets 5 stars! I absolutely loved it! The service is quick and friendly. They’re very helpful in explaining each flavor without rushing you to a decision. There’s a walk-up, sitting area right out front. The three stars comes from the experience if you hang around. There were so many bugs outside that it was nearly impossible to enjoy the custard. I’m sure there are some preventative measures they could take to decrease the number of insects. There has to be. Other than that, great custard! Just eat it in your car with the windows up

I’m surprised I haven’t reviewed this yet; I come here all the time! Memphis Ice Cream will always be ruled by La Michoacana. However, if you’re in the mood for something not as heavily creamy or you’re a glutton and you love a bajillion toppings in your ice cream, then come here! Its conveniently located on Germantown Parkway, next to the only good bubble tea stop in town and a movie theater. You can make your own custards /concretes(Which is basically like if ice cream + froyo decided to have a baby, concretes/custards would be the offspring), with as many toppings as you want(charged either $.75 or $ 1 per topping). They have some pre-established concretes you can buy like the MINTGRASSHOPPER(yums) or the elvis peanut butter. You can also substitute items from those pre-mixed concretes for other items on the menu!(super plus! love that!) The DIRT N WORMS is yums! Just be prepared to have your worms be slightly frozen because of the cooling temperature of your concrete, and therefore wont be as succulently soft as those you buy at your local CVS. They are slightly more expensive compared to your average ice cream shop, but this is definitely worth a try if you’re in the area! I heard this is more of a Midwest franchise. so I’m glad that we got one here in Memphis for us to try!

Incredible milk shakes. Large has got to be at least 800 calories. So much goodness. By the time it takes to get through the drive thru I’ve rewritten this review 5 times over. Same as always. I just can’t say no to a $ 10 milk shake and waiting 20 mins in line. What can I say? I’m addicted.

Recently discovered the greatness that is Sheridan’s frozen custard and I must say that if you are a fan of ice cream, you are going to go wild for the deliciousness they serve here! They have a speedy drive thru or you could walk up and order at the window(they have outdoor seating) and be greeted by a friendly employee who will offer prompt and accurate service. I am personally a huge fan of the birthday cake concrete; these things are normally so substantial that you could split one between two people. If you haven’t tried this place yet, give it a go; you’ll be glad you did!

Delicious as usual! This is one of the things I definitely miss about living in Cordova! Every time I’m in or near Memphis, I make sure to stop at Sheridans though. Now that I have a new found love for PB and banana pairings, I definitely went with the Elvis Pick but decided to add brownies. Soooooo… good! It was a warm day, but the wait wasn’t bad at all(lucky me). It can get pretty backed up as they usually only have 2 – 3 employees in at a time from my experience. It’s not a treat you should get everyday… pretty decadent and pricey. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because it is becoming less like a concrete. It used to be super thick and creamy. Still… can’t go wrong by stopping by!

I had some custard here for the first time the other night and I really enjoyed it! I got The Elvis Pick Concrete, which had vanilla frozen custard, chopped bananas, and peanut butter syrup. Yummy! The only gripe I had was that the orders were taking forever, probably due to them only have two people working the place and there was a decent crowd. I will definitely be stopping again!

When I think of custard, I think of dense, rich, creamy goodness; and with a name like Concrete, I expected the feeling of concrete(the good kind) in my stomach when I finished my frozen treat. But Sheridan’s custard seemed more like a runny soft-serve. I ordered the s’more: vanilla custard with marshmallow, hot fudge, graham cracker. It was tasty, but the fudge mixed too well with the vanilla and it became more of a twist ice cream than vanilla with hot fudge. I think chunks of fudge would have been better. A friend with me ordered chocolate with chocolate brownie and gave me a taste. The chocolate custard has a richer flavor than the vanilla, and the brownie is nothing special but come on it’s a brownie. All of that said, I like ice cream and custard in all of its many forms, so while I would not make a special trip to Sheridan’s, I would also not turn it down if someone took me there.

Um, dayum its good… only drawback is the price… and the fact that they regularly get orders wrong and don’t know what ingredients go in what… and some of the people who work there are so unfriendly. Well, let me correct that — MOST of the people who work there are unpleasant. What is up with the lack of friendliness at an ice cream parlor? Get over yourselves, its a dang ice cream place. Smile for God’s sake. You’re gonna scare the children. Its an ice cream parlor, try and act like its a happy place. Whoever is managing this place must be a total jerk. Otherwise, I can not imagine how anyone could continue to hire such unfriendly people.

Mmmmmm custard. My husband had been wanting to go here for a while, so we stopped in this week and ordered up some iced goodies. I opted for a shaved ice, while he got a custard creation. I don’t remember the exact name of his, but it had something to do with Elvis– go figure. It had peanut butter and fresh bananas mixed into the custard and it was seriously awesome. The custard is so rich and creamy, and the peanut butter and banana portion paired together was out of this world. My shaved ice was like a trip back in a time machine. We used to have one of these in the small town I grew up in. It was an old photo developing drive-thru stand that someone had the sense to turn into a Hawaiian Ice location. There was one, lone man inside who would shave up your ice fresh, and then douse it with whatever flavor concoctions your mind could create. It was my favorite place on earth. We always rode bikes there in the summer and then tried(and failed) to return home with our rather large plastic, cylindrical shaved ice domes filled to the brim. When I saw this listed on the menu, I let out an excited squeal. I’m glad I opted for this treat rather than the custard cuz it was perfect. When I took the first bite, I could smell the hot summer asphalt parking lot, feel the mosquito bites on my legs, and see that big Hawaiian Ice man’s friendly smile back when I was a 10 year old. For the record, I had blueberry and strawberry flavors infused into my Sheridan’s ice. My tongue, teeth and lips were purple afterward, and I was grinning from ear to ear.
