CASHONLY! If you are searching for a meat and 3 place to eat this will serve the purpose as well as any place serving meat and vegetables. You choose 1 meat from a choice of 6 – 7 and choose 3 vegetables from about a dozen, the bread and sweet tea are thrown in for one price($ 7.50). The dining area is confined to a small area, given the relatively small building in general, then there are plenty of tables. You are guaranteed to see regulars here if you visit more than once. The drive thru rivals what you’d see at Burger King. They do serve hamburgers, but the one customer that ordered a burger while I was there got his and it was on loaf bread not a bun. I would have to clarify that before I order a burger since I prefer a bun. The meals eaten here over several months were consistent. The cabbage was not boiled to mush like most diners, but it needed salt during cooking. The chicken and dumplings were bland and the dumplings had no tooth to them. I ate the dumplings and it did fill me up. The fried green tomatoes are REAL green tomatoes, pucker-inducing tartness. The chuck wagon steak and gravy had very good flavor(ordered on multiple visits). Fried chicken was juicy, but all the flavor/seasoning was in the flour coating. Tea was good, sweet, but not too sweet. Pleasant, smiling and friendly staff. The menu items will definitely fill you up without causing gastric issues afterward. There are usually 4 desserts listed. I saw a slice of pie delivered to another table, it was a very thin pie(height-wise not slice-wise). I will be going back until I have tried the chicken livers and possibly a burger. As far as the question of is there a TV, yes there is, and it is always on the Weather Channel. Update: 11−2−14 I have been back and tried the fried chicken livers. They were the best fried livers I’ve had at a restaurant. Not overly crunchy or overcooked. I haven’t tried a burger, but did see one served and it was on a bun this time. Update: the burger is huge, juicy and tastes very good. They serve turkey and dressing on Thursday and Sunday. It is very good. If you are craving dressing and it is months away from Thanksgiving, you can get a dressing fix here to hold you over. This dressing, in no way, holds a candle to Ben’s from Gilmore’s. Since Ben has dropped off the face of the earth it seems, this is as good as it gets with dressing for lunch. I wasn’t happy with my last visit because it was their token«off» day I guess. Cold and broken cornbread muffin. Cold, extremely overcooked and under-seasoned cabbage core. Watery macaroni. With the exception of today, this is the most consistent eating establishment in town. To Each Their Own. I will see them again next Thursday.

Been here about 4 – 5 times over the past two years. Small location, can almost miss it driving by. Only open a few hours of the day. Sunday 11 – 2 for sure. Menu is on the wall on whiteboards, you get a meat, and three sides as part of your plate. Well liked by many in the community. If anything, you need to try the Butter Roll dessert!
