On my quest to try the local spots while visiting friends here in Cornelia, Ga we decided to give this spot a go today for lunch. It is def as southern style as it can get. A mixed style between a diner and restaurant but it is a buffet for lunch. They had a good amount of food to pick from 3 full buffet tables + a desert table. Choices from fried chicken and fish to honey ham. Food was pretty ordinary i would compare to a golden carol feel. A little under salt for my taste buds but nothing a sprinkle of salt couldn’t fix. Place was a little outdated with old tables and cloth style chairs. Really big inside it was pretty full when we stepped in being a Sunday and just about every other place to eat locally is closed it could be expected. staff was nice drinks came out fast and refills where quickly taken care off. Overall I would go back to eat here.

I actually feel really bad about giving such a bad review, but I have to be honest. I feel bad, because the staff was AWESOME and so friendly. But the smell of the restaurant, as soon as you walk through the door, is awful, and the food was just so-so. Also, the walls were dirty with food and whatnot that had probably been rubbed there by grubby kiddos. I have nothing against grubby kiddos. I’ve had them… but the restaurant should be cleaning the table areas better. As far as the food goes, here’s what was good: sweet potatoes(though oozing with too much butter) and fried squash. Red velvet cake for dessert. The bad: Chicken strips were overcooked and dry. Salad looked like it came out of a bag. Perfectly cut square lettuce.) Green beans looked/tasted canned. I paid full price for the buffet, and couldn’t even stomach everything on my first plate. My husband only took 3 bites. I think the smell of the restaurant killed it for him. I was embarrassed to have taken my husband here after guaranteeing that I had never gone wrong by checking reviews on Unilocal

Pretty good place! Nothing fancy but really great price. Service was a little slow for drink refills etc…

Great Southern food. The veggies are prepared fresh, as are the desserts. $ 10 gets you in the door and stuffed. People are friendly, the hours are odd. Open Thurs night for gospel singing, Friday for seafood, and Sat and Sunday, 10 –2, for lunch.
