Atmosphere is spellbinding! We sat in the treehouse porch overlooking the babbling brook. The service was very attentive. We saw no less than 5 servers during a late afternoon meal. Too early for dinner but too late for lunch, we opted for the lobster roll, and pulled pork sandwich. Pork sandwich could adequately feed two with the pork being moist and tender. Lobster roll was just OK. The role was burnt, and the lobster meat tasted mushy in some sections. The dessert tray looked decadent but we opted out. Coffee to go was high test and lit me up.

Well the food was good but I am not impressed by large portions. what made the place a downer was the poor service. We were told on the phone it was serving lunch. When we sat down and went to order the waitresses said no lunch available only breakfast. Took forever to get drinks and later in the meal We had to frantically wave to get water and coffee refills and no one bothered clearing the table as we went through a couple of courses I would say it was enthusiastic but incompetent service. Nice Ambience, nice Creek View but it’s the service that makes or breaks a restaurant. And the poor service indicated a poor management style. Charming place but really not worth a long trip

Enjoyed The Harvest sandwich which consisted of turkey, apples cranberry and cheddar on multi-grain bread. Very good. Sandwich was served with slaw and some of the best homemade pickles I’ve ever had. Server was friendly and interior of restaurant was beautiful. Lot of other tasty — sounding options on the menu.

Oh. My. Goodness. How delicious is this place!!! Really freaking delicious, that is the answer. I went with my aunt and her friend a few nights ago and it was amazing. My aunt has a second home nearby, and said this is her favorite restaurant to visit in the area. I can see why. The food is amazing, the service is phenomenal, the atmosphere is cozy, buzzing, and yet not overly loud. Oh, and the wine pours are generous and not too expensive :) The food: we started with the homemade potato chips with the gorgonzola sauce and bacon bits. DEEEEELICIOUS!!! And a massive portion for the ~$ 8 price. Between the three of us we could barely finish it. The only reason I didn’t COMPLETELY dig in was because I wanted to save room for my dinner. Oh, and the entrees come with a starter salad — a few too many fried onions on top for me, but still good with a light dressing. My aunt has a gluten allergy and she requested her salad without the fried onions, and they obliged. The entrees: my aunt and I both got the scallops which came on top of a salad of beets, chickpeas, olives, artichokes, arugala, and marinated red peppers. I never would have thought of putting these flavors together but dammit, they worked!!! It was so delicious, a mix of savory and sweet, and the scallops were the biggest I have ever seen. The portion was huge and after the delicious chips starter, we each took back half for the next day(by the way, just as yummy when eaten as leftovers). Our friend got the tortelloni with shrimp. The portion was smaller, but she said the sauce was delicious and the chunks of veg along with the seafood looked fresh and yummy. She also took back a small doggy bag. We were too stuffed to try the dessert menu, but the selection looked good. Oh! I forgot the fresh bread and butter served with the meal — warm, and scrumptious :) I’m running out of adjectives to describe the food, so now I’ll move on to the service: friendly, prompt, efficient, accommodating, and quite good looking :) I do not live in the area, but when I am back for a visit I will insist we have a meal at Krista’s. After reading the reviews on the brunch, I may recommend a couple of meals :)

Krista’s in Cornish is a lovely restaurant! Everything feels, tastes and looks well thought out. We like everything from the charming décor, to the attentive service to the delicious food and libations. The staff is knowledgeable, professional, efficient and — equally important in my view– friendly and kind. We love their mixed drinks and wines and usually sit at the bar within the restaurant and grab something to eat there. However, they have also a couple other rooms with lots of tables to gather with friends and family. Reservations seem necessary on weekends. Everything is delicious. Portions are very large. We like it that they offer simpler dishes like burgers and sandwiches, as well as pastas and more complete meals with seafood, meat, veggies etc. Plus: Homemade dessert choices galore. (Lighter meal suggestions: Salad and top it off with a dessert./ Share one of their large sandwiches. /Have an appetizer and a salad. Share a salad and an entrée. /Order the works and bring the rest home.) We live in the area and appreciate having this friendly restaurant here in Western Maine.

Without a doubt, no exaggeration, one of the very best restaurants, if not the best, I have ever been to. I am still amazed by the whole experience. The food is a step above superb. Went to visit our grandchildren and my daughter suggested Kristas. I figured a basic small town lunch. Not. The menu is fabulous and it is difficult to choose. I got a crab cake in tomato wrap, and my daughter got a reuben. We traded halves and both were heavenly. The reuben was the best I have ever had, without exception. The crab was just as heavenly. My granddaughter got the pulled pork. Again, just as good. The fries, both regular and sweet potato were excellent. And pickles. They looked different, almost like homemade. They were homemade. Just like granny’s. The best bread and butter pickles I have ever had. Who eats the pickle? You will. Then buy some to go. We went back for breakfast this morning. Again, floored by the portion, the quality of the food, the service and the atmosphere. Pancakes the size of tractor tires loaded with fresh berries. Fluffy and delicious with real maple syrup. The corned beef hash is easily worth a 150 mile ride to get to. Potato, brisket, carrot slivers and onions. Eggs perfectly cooked and fresh. The muffins have to be tried to be believed. Todays flavors were lemon poppy and strawberry peach cobbler. I’ve never liked muffins. I do now. The restaurant itself is warm, friendly and super inviting. The bar equally so. The people are friendly and know very well what they are about. I cannot wait to go back. If you are in New England, no matter how far away, the trip is worth it. It is just simply that good. There will probably be a line to get in. Wait. You will not regret it. What an amazing, top notch place in a very unlikely spot!

Very disappointed, a lot of money, undercooked scallops, salads came with our meals, no apologies, and unacceptable service. I have never felt so rushed in my life.

Krista’s in five simple sentences: 1. The portions are ENORMOUS(really, really enormous). 2. The prices are unbelievably CHEAP(really, really cheap). 3. Every. Single. Thing. You. Will. Eat. Will. Be. DELICIOUS(really, really delicious). 4. The staff is patient, accommodating, knowledgeable, and personable. 5. The ambience is charming meets rustic meets summer porch of your lake home up north. Stop reading now and go. Or, keep reading and drool over what I ordered: + The muffin’s are mouthwatering, regardless of the kind you get(the day we came the options were cranberry walnut or peach ginger; I went with the latter of the two). Pro tip: get it grilled. + An omelette stuffed with herb cream cheese and chopped tomatoes. I thought the idea of putting cream cheese in a hot omelette was gross — wouldn’t it just«goo» out? However, it’s SOTHICK from the herbs, that it barely moves. Get it with something like chopped tomatoes, and they end up acting like a dam to prevent any goo from leaking out the sides. Deliriously good. Deliriously. Good. + Deluxe Grilled Homefries: it’s like two enormous potatoes cut into chunks, grilled, and topped with cheddar and sour cream. I didn’t get bacon on it which it comes with normally because I’m a vegetarian, and wish I had asked them to top it with green onions or something, but it was still so, so, so good. Next time, I’ll get the Smasher Cakes… which is apparently grilled mashed potato cakes. Can you imagine those topped with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce? *mind explosion* + Bottomless cups of coffee and I never had to ask for refill. Magically, it just always was. All of that before tip? $ 14ish. Yes, this might be in my top three favorite breakfast places in the state.

I don’t think the pictures on here do justice to how HUGE the portion sizes are. Add to that the prices and you get so much bang for your buck — nothing in Portland can compete value wise. Back to the beginning — the minute I walked in, I was in love. The atmosphere here is so warm and inviting. You enter by the bar/lounge area and I could immediately see myself here again. We were seated right away(no 40 minute wait like I’d have at most any Portland eatery on a weekend morning for brunch). We were greeted by our waiter(in training) — Jaelyn(??). He did an impressive job for someone who was just learning — keeping our coffee filled and checking on us just the right amount. The food was amazing — all of it! I had the Mexican style home fries with cheese, salsa, sour cream and onions & peppers. There must have been two whole potatoes here. I also ordered a side of corned beef hash. This was $ 3.95 I think and was larger than any serving I’ve ever had. I also had«one lonely egg» — for $ 1. No toast or anything — just the egg. And finally, I also had an enormous grilled ginger pear muffin. It was all so delicious! This combined with the lack of crowds and the fact that my bill was $ 18 including my tip — this would be my go to brunch spot if it wasn’t 40 minutes away from my home. If you are in Cornish — check this place out!

My husband and I went for dinner on our way into NH! He had shrimp tortillino and I had skirt steak! I would highly recommend the yummlits, they are delicious! Everything was cooked perfectly! We sat at the bar because we didn’t make reservations. The bar was full service and everyone was very friendly!

Been here twice now, and it’s a challenge to think of a better breakfast I’ve had in my lifetime. On both visits, we started off with one of the their homemade muffins. First visit was blueberry; the visit this past weekend was raspberry peach. The muffins are generously sized, and are sliced in half, buttered and grilled before being delivered to the table. I involuntarily growled and showed my teeth when my wife went to grab the last piece. So delicious. Our kids love the frenchtoast, and for good reason. Large slices of french bread, buttered and grilled so it’s crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. You get a choice of «real» maple syrup or «table syrup.» The upcharge for the real syrup is worth the extra buck. The omelettes are enormous. A ham, peppers and onions omelet and a steak tip and onion omelet were delivered bursting at the seams. Omelettes are delivered with homemade bread — the raisin is excellent. Pancakes topped with fruit are smothered in a pile of blueberries or whatever else is available that you like. Meats are fresh and scrumptious; the«butcher bacon» is crisp and hefty. If you like home fries, they come in about 8 varieties, including plain or with melted cheddar; cajun and cheddar; and Mexican style with salsa/peppers/onions among other varieties. Incredible. The one thing I didn’t care for is the corned beef hash, surprisingly. It IS homemade and well prepared, but the flavor was too tangy for me. Others seem to love it, so don’t take my opinion as gospel. Try it for yourself. The interior of this place is very inviting, and feels very chic and modern despite being out in the middle of nowhere. The dining room is warm and cozy, and well decorated. Nice views of the river on the backside. My wife and I are headed back there for dinner later in the month and looking forward to it. There is a really nice bar with about 10 local beers on tap, so we’ll be enjoying that part of it as well, I’m certain.

On the way out some guy asked if everything was fine. I should not have said yes because it wasn’t. For the first time I was disappointed with Krista’s. We ate there Friday night 11÷5÷15. First, our waitress apparently must have thought we were going to be lousy tippers because that’s how we were treated. But we still gave a good 20% despite her trespasses. I was originally going to select the pistachio haddock, but always wanted to try chicken saltimbocca –and I knew that my favorite restaurant would make it right. But unless chicken saltimbocca is supposed to be overcooked and dry, it was overcooked and dry; and I could only eat 1⁄3 of it. My friend ordered prime rib cooked medium. It came out blood red. He refused to send it back because he never sends anything back, and only ate part of it. And my aunt said the bay scallops were better the last time; I wouldn’t know because I didn’t sample one the last time. So is this the rise and fall of the once-great Krista’s?

During our visit to the area in September 2015, we visited Krista’s on two occassions.(We tried a third time, but the wait time was approximately three hours because it was a Friday night.) The food was wonderful. We had both breakfast and lunch there and were parties of 3 and 5. Service was always excellent. The décor is fun. We will be back again!

I spent an entire summer being told how great Krista’s is. They gave me mixed reviews about their thoughts on the new renovations but nobody was negative on the food so I made the trip. I went during that slow lull between lunch and dinner. Personally, I liked the décor as it was homey and bright. I ordered a turkey avocado sandwich with sweet potato fries. What I received was this monstrous sandwich where the layers of turkey was at least 3″ thick. However, the meal still felt light and tasted fresh. The sweet potato fries wee also very good. Plus I had leftovers which is always great and nearly unheard of when I have a sandwich entrée. What made this experience not a 5 star was the service. Although the staff was friendly they weren’t the most attentive. They seemed far more interested in getting ready for the dinner crowd than the patrons in the restaurant at that moment. The quality is worth the money at lest during the lunch hour. I have not tried the dinner or brunch but hear they are both excellent.

What would have been a very good review is downgraded to an improperly cooked steak. NY strip ordered medium rare was served medium well(maybe well). Table for 4. Not fun to send my dinner back. I am the slowest eater to begin with. Everyone else eats then when done they get to watch me. Not my idea of a nice $ 200 dinner for 4. It spoils the event for everyone. They were happy with their meals. I was busy socializing, so I forgot my ‘rules’ about ordering steak. Quiz the server about kitchen’s tendency to overlook steak. Should I order rare when I really want medium rare? Sometimes the server is honest enough to tell me that ordering a steak is dicey and I order something else. I forgot to ask these questions. I really don’t think the patron has to be on their toes when they order. I chose not to spoil everyone else’s dinner. Too bad because it was my birthday.

I was really disappointed in my meal tonight. First, the restaurant recently underwent a renovation extending where used to be a very small bar. They also converted the porch into a four seasons, essentially ruining what was a beautiful outdoor experience next to the waterfall. Now you’re indoors. My son and I both ordered the tortellini meal. I had chicken and he had the shrimp. We were expecting something akin to an Alfredo sauce or pesto. What we got was a white wine sauce. My son didn’t like it so we ordered him a cheeseburger and fries to replace the meal. I don’t blame Krista’s for charging us for both, however it would’ve been nice if they had let us know about the wine sauce. Our waitress also seemed annoyed as opposed to apologetic. What bugged me was that they no longer offer free refills on drinks. We each had lemonade, a total of five between us which ran us $ 14. The meals were 21 and 22+ the burger was 16. Adding an appetizer and a couple of desserts to go and the bill was $ 100. Don’t get me wrong the food is excellent, but the place has become very overpriced for the area. I know that the renovation was expensive, but it’s getting ridiculous for two people to go out to dinner. I guess I felt that because we didn’t like the meal they could’ve done a little something, even comping some of the refills, but I guess that it’s too much to ask. My server was very friendly, although very busy and I didn’t ask her to adjust the bill. I just was a little disappointed that there was no effort made to address our displeasure with the meal. At least act sympathetic. Still a very good restaurant, but expect to pay through the nose.

This is a place for the hungry bears instead of the mouses. Try to resist to order more than one item per person. Pancakes(griddle cakes) were really nice and much different than your ordinary out of the box counterparts you get in many places. Oatmeal with local blueberries and pecans(nuts and fresh fruit is extra) also huge and delicious. We cam, we ate, we even have extra to see us through lunch :)

I like this place. The service is great, once you can get past the hostess(who was very scattered). The fried brussel sprouts are amazing should definitely be tried. I like the chicken presto sandwich but was disappointed this time around as the chicken was pretty dry. My husband has the halibut special which was good but very lemony(although he ate it all). Their dinner salads are yummy and the desserts rock! Overall, a nice place in the area and I will keep going.
