GREAT food! When my family comes to visit I love bringing them here! It’s a fantastic local restaurant with a «homemade» taste without the dirty dishes! I highly suggest stopping in when you’re in Cornwall!

My go to breakfast spot. Best breakfast potatoes, and the specials are interesting and delicious everyday. Hardest part is knowing what to try!

Been here a quite a few times. It’s hit and miss with the service. If it’s really dead inside, you get noticed and seated quickly, if it’s at least half packed, you will stand at the front door for a while before someone comes to help you. The food is always great, and I love their chalkboard menu that offered something different every time. Their omelettes are delicious and come with home fries, that are AMAZING. A few times after being seated it took at least 10 minutes for the server to come over and take an order for coffee and water. I have watched the servers go and check on other tables multiple times without stopping by ours, and all they’re doing is standing by the register chatting. The food is great, the menu has a lot of options, but just realize if it’s at all busy you will wait long to be seated even with open tables, and you will wait a while to have a server come over, even just to get drink orders. If you’re the type to order drinks then wait a bit to order your food, this is the place to not do that. Order everything the first time a waitress/waiter comes.

The issue with this place is the negatives outweigh the positives. Everyone is great except the owner/chef. He’s not very friendly except to his regulars that he talks to way to much resulting in having to wait for your food to be cooked. Also, he over cooks everything. Poached eggs are usually more like hard boiled eggs and omelettes are so dry. There is a younger chef that works at this place when the owner is off and he is amazing. You are sure to get a fantastic breakfast when he is working. The staff is very friendly however some of them are not very welcoming with special requests. Not like a diner where whatever you want is not a problem. My advice, go when the chef/owner is not working and you will have a great meal.

So I took my mother out for breakfast this morning to try fiddlestixs. This wasn’t the first time I’ve been there but it was the last. Neither of my 2 prior trips were anything to talk about as the foods decent. The thing I will say is the service is awful. Today we arrived and it seemed to be the end of their morning rush. Granted the inside is small I didn’t mind having to wait for a table. Ive worked in the industry for nearly 10 years and I know the difference between being busy and lazy employees. We waited around 20 mins at the front door while 2 tables sat uncleared. They had three staff members on the floor but only one who seemed as if he knew what to do. After finally being seated cause the only guy working finally had a chance to, we had the pleasure of having the cooks daughter as our waitress. We were her only table, of just 2 while the other employees had about 4 tables each. Loads of fun. She got us drinks right away but then sat outside and in the bathroom and talking to the chefs for 35 mins before we got to order solely because my mother asked if we could. Couldn’t get a coffee refill and God forbid she asked if we needed anything once she finally brought the food. In my restaurant and all the others I’ve been to this may have been the single laziest employee I’ve ever seen. There is just no justification for having someone on the floor who clearly doesn’t care about serving the customer. The food was the only saving grace of the entire experience. The strawberry shortcake French toast was creative and full of flavor. The bacon was super crispy and a plate full for a very responsible price. Has potential but I won’t be back to find out.

I have eaten here multiple times since moving to this area a few months ago. The food is absolutely delicious but the service is subpar. I sat and watched the server go around and fill everyone’s coffee but my table. Never once asked how the food was. While I understand the morning rush makes a server feel like they are a chicken running around with their heads cutoff it still doesn’t excuse crappy service for my table of two. If this place could train the servers a little better it would hands down the best breakfast joint in Cornwall. Now the food… Everything single thing on that menu is good. I love the eggs Benedict! The potatoes have such a great flavor as well. They really have a great menu and flavor. I’m always willing to overlook the service because the food is that good. So please, do yourself a favor and grab a bite to eat here.

BLUF: My go to local diner for brunch. Be warned, their seating area is quite limited so be prepared to wait for larger parties. Fiddlestix is the go to diner for cadets as it is only a short drive away in Cornwall. There is a great homey feel to the diner and great food. The seating area seats only has seven or so two person tables which are moved to make a larger table if needed. The pancakes are great here as well as their Eggs Benedict. I had their Benedict recently and the texture of the poached egg was a superb combination of silky and runny. They were a bit salty but were balanced well with the English muffin. Overall, a must go for people looking to get great brunch.

I came here with 2 friends for a hearty breakfast before heading up to Montréal. It was awhile ago but we shared the chicken and waffle, pancakes and a Greek omelette thing, The cook and waitress was able to handle a full house. All the tables were seated and they were able to calmly bring out food without a sweat. It’s nearby the Woodbury outlet mall. If I am ever nearby I will try to stop by for a mean breakfast.

Found this place based on Unilocal re reviews and it was spot on. Inside is not the best looking place a bunch of tables and packed so we chose to sit outside which made or experience even better(cozy and intimate). The food was so fresh and very good. I had the 7″ Belgium waffle with chicken, bacon and dijon-maple syrup. My husband had an omelet with tomatoes, basil, ricotta, spinach and caramelized onions with home fries, both were delicious! Our waitress Donna was very sweet and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Why, oh, why must we travel hours outside the city to get homecooked meals like these? What a delicious brunch spot! I’m sure their food here is good at any other time of the day. We came with a group of 4 after a hike and was astounded by the food they offered. Without all the fanfare and pretentiousness, the food was simple, plentiful, and delicious. We sampled from burgers, to benedicts, wraps, and chicken & waffles. As far as we could remember, the food was awesome! Crispy where it needs to be, flavorful where it needs to be, and just an overall wonderful time with low costs. We loved it and will keep Fiddlestix in mind next time we’re in the area.

Ugh, this restaurant has become a giant let down! I’ve come here regularly over the past few months and didn’t really notice their major service issues because I was there before the rush. I came over the weekend a little later than normal, around 10:30 am for breakfast. There was a bit of a wait, and they were busy, but it didn’t bother us. They asked if we wanted to seat us outside, and we said yes, and got sat down at the same time as a party of 3 sitting at the table next to us. Our server took forever to take our food order and just seemed very rushed and short with us. He was not friendly at all. The table of 3 ordered at the same time as my boyfriend and I, and they ordered the same dishes as us plus more. They, as well as several tables inside who sat down after us, got their food before we did. Our server saw us looking around and he never even came out to tell us what the hold up was. I would understand if we ordered something complicated, but it was just an omelet and pancakes. We finally got our food– the home fries were burnt and my omelet wasn’t very good, I’ve had better elsewhere. He never checked back to see if everything was okay or apologized for the delay. I flagged him down and asked if he had jam, he didn’t say yes or no, just repeated the word«jam» and walked away to go do other things for 10 minutes before coming out with jam. We also saw a third table near us get fed up with him because he didn’t take their order for about 15 minutes. He dropped off the check and never said thank you, or have a nice day. I worked in the food service industry so I understand being busy, but this guy clearly didn’t care about his job, or the people he served. My boyfriend and I both agreed we wouldn’t be coming back here for a long time, the food just isn’t worth the poor service.

Great local breakfast place! Me and my bf was traveling to upstate, and we were looking for some nice local brunch restaurant. Fiddlestix was only one that was opening before 10, so we went here. It’s a small restaurant, but servers were nice and food was good. We ordered bacon on the side, and their Home fries were good!(it was bit burnt, but i like it that way) and I ordered Egg, veggie palm which was good choice. Other selections on the menu seemed pretty good too. Not a bad place to go try it out if you are around!

Ugh. Don’t trust the four star rating. You should expect shoddy service and burnt food. We wanted a quick lunch after visiting storm king and thought a local café with 4 stars would be good. We were greeted and seated quickly since there were few occupied tables. Server took our drink order. 10 minutes later… No drinks. Another server came by and asked for our drink order when he realized we had been waiting. He joked that the other server was probably being a jerk and went on a smoke break. …ummm ok, not a great thing to share with your customers. My fiancé ordered a poached egg dish with home fries. I ordered a sandwich… Apparently it takes 30 minutes to make these things. I made the mistake of ordering from the specials menu, and I’m pretty sure they were clearing out leftover food inventory. The fried onion on my sandwich looked like it was dusted off from the trash, refried, burnt to a crisp then added to my sandwich. * see photo. Home fries were also burnt on my fiancé’s plate. Don’t be fooled by the four stars or cute menu names… The people here have no idea what they’re doing. Servers don’t realize you need to check on your tables for refills and basically don’t ignore them. Cooks don’t know how to NOT burn food.

Wait staff was so incredibly rude and refused to take my order twice. I understand if the kitchen is backed up — but refusing to take my order — And being insanely rude about it? No. The owner took care of us after that(I believe) and the food was ok. Second time here — service was slow both times. Here’s a tip: instead of whining to customers that you only have two cooks… hire another cook. Won’t be back.

I came here today with my friend since we were looking for a new place to try. I had the firecracker wrap and my friend had one of the specials — Oreo encrusted French toast. It was right up her alley. I enjoyed my wrap, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the pasta salad on the side. I also would have chosen a different option besides whole wheat for the wrap if there were other options. All in all, we both really enjoyed the food and the breakfast food sounded amazing. I have confidence that most things on the menu are probably very good. Definitely a great choice when looking for a good breakfast or lunch.

Came here a couple of weekends ago with a few of my friends for lunch right before our trip to Storm King Art Center. Thankfully, when we got there, there wasn’t a wait to get seated. Service was pretty prompt and attentive. I got their quesadilla, which was massive. Some of my friends were non-plussed with their food, which was kind of disappointing. They had said their food was bland. I thought my food was just fine, though, admittedly, nothing extraordinary. It looks like they offer quite the array of dishes, though, which probably changes from weekend to weekend. If you happen to be in the area and want a large amount of decent food, though, then I’d say you ought to stop by. It certainly does have that small town charm that cityslickers such as myself are not used to seeing.
