Really good seafood. I heard they had excellent crabcake and it’s true! They’re really meaty and tasty. Some other people in our party had tuna and fried oysters and they said their entrees were good as well. The staff was very friendly and we had a nice breeze off the ocean. I’ve been coming to OBX for years with my family and this restaurant might have the best food I’ve tried(besides Tomato Patch Pizza lol)

AMAZING food & great service with a beautiful view of the ocean. Meals came out super quick and waitress was very accommodating considering our big group. 3 big pools and a few basketball courts, great for kids and families of all ages!

We ate here in October 2015. Ordered crab cakes, bacon wrapped scallops, shrimp wellington and oysters. All were way better than expected. We are from Maryland and found them ALMOST as good as home. Desserts were also good. Prices are high but we found them well worth the price. Server Alex was excellent especially with our 3 year old.

2 ½ stars for oceanfront dining so long as you don’t mind eating while kids run around the pool deck and scream. Find out what time the pool closes if you’re looking for a quiet dinner. The food is meh, not terrible but not bothering to return. Service was fine. There’s indoor and outdoor dining areas.

I thought this place was awesome. I have been coming to OBX for years. This was the best view and food was amazing. Service was outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant. I LOVE crab cakes and theirs were on point. Soooo good scallops were delicious too. Along with the service of the waitress the kitchen staff was super fast. I will be going back on my next visit.

The food was overpriced and mediocre. We only went because we just drove into town and were exhausted and needed a bite of food and something to drink. Our waitress was quite lovely, but other than that, we would recommend finding another place!

For their selling point being the view ours was so-so. Felt like we were tucked in the back near the door behind everything because we have a little one. It was not a very breezy night so being tucked near the back it was extremely hot. Our party of 5 felt half-sick when we left because of this. Service was good, food was decent.

The cocktails are lovely, try the Corolla Cosmo! Filet was good, shrimp was good also. Key lime pie and cheesecake was tasty. View is nice.

Super friendly staff always makes expensive food taste better. I thought the car cakes were fantastic, and the wait staff pretty good looking. Couple that with seeing deer on the beach and it makes for a great review. Try it, it’s unique

We had the shrimp crab cakes and scallops. The service and food were excellent. This is inside a gated community-resort at the north end of OBX.

Good pricey food, could be better if more seafood provided in each order.

Great crab cakes and amazing view of ocean! Prefect place for a small romantic dinner. Small deck so large groups not recommended!

Attack of the flies!!! Gee whiz… yes, there is a great view of the ocean – hence the name of this establishment but they may want to think about changing their name to the Oceanfront Flytrap. We had a party of 12(reservations made beforehand) and were smushed together on their narrow deck. Granted, we were early and they accomodated us rather than making us wait till our reserved time so I really do appreciate that. I liked that you were able to take any two items from their menu to pair your meal. I had a tuna steak and one crabcake. The crabcake was absolutely delicious – one of the best I’ve had, but unfortunately the swarm of flies ruined this experience for me. I read the reviews ahead of time so I wasn’t going into this blind, but I couldn’t believe how many flies there actually were. We had to put napkins over our drinks so the flies didn’t take a swim and once the food came out it was game on. Swatting flies left and right throughout our dining experience and having them land all over my pricey meal made me lose my appetite. The service was decent, but the waitress waited until the end of our meal to bring a citronella candle to our table… not that it helped much but maybe this is something they should constantly having burning on their tables. They did take two coupons since we were technically two tables smushed together, but even the cut on our bill didn’t make this experience pleasurable. Do yourself a favor and don’t let the she-crab soup or crabcakes pull you in to this place. Keep driving and find a place where the flies stay at bay.

We went with a group of 7. The food and service was excellent. Hearing the ocean in the background and watching the sunset only added to the experience. The server, Bailey, was attentive, friendly and seemed to know when you wanted something without having to ask for it — a rare thing now-a-days. The steaks and fish were cooked to perfection, the fried food came out crispy, hot and not greasy. And yes they serviced some of the best crab cakes I have ever had.

Went in with 12 adults and was not impressed. The potatoes were good tasting but, one of the party had some hair in theirs. The fillet was mediocre and smaller than the crab cakes. The she crab soup tasted like cream sauce with Old Bay(my mother-in-law makes better). There were a TON of flies and fortunately one of our party ordered a Bourbon Beach margarita which appeared to attract a lot of them to it… So overall highly recommend using this method as the porch does not have screens or fans to keep the flies at bay. The food was way too expensive for the lack of flavor in the food, ambiance and flies.

A group of 15 went here last week. We decided upon the oceanfront grille because we were ready for some good seafood and a view of the water to match. This restaurant is on top of a pool deck which initially seems odd, but the view of the ocean is prime. We started with a pitcher of sangria, it was good but you couldn’t taste any traces of alcohol. I Would probably skip this next time. The jist here is to pair two seafood items together to create your meal. I started with the she crab soup. It was filled with tons of crab and was a very filling starter, surely not to be missed. For my entrée I paired the steamed shrimp with the teriyaki swordfish on special. Both selection were solid and such a large portion I took most of it home. Service was okay but not memorable. Overall this is a nice dinner choice with a great view!

I’m really confused whether other reviewers are talking about the same restaurant. Both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had the crab cakes which were amazing and he had the shrimp and grits. Everything tasted as though it were freshly prepared. I would definitely go back if ever in the area.

Hands down the best dinner we had on our trip to OBX. The only issue we had were mosquitoes starting coming in. The view was great(ocean view). It sits within a community, so there is a pool below. But the food was awesome for dinner. One of the best crab cakes I have ever eaten, along with a slab of grilled tuna.(ordered med-rare) Standard sides. Wife had steak, and it was cooked as ordered. We also go the special appetizer, which was some sort of artichoke cheese dip, and was very good. I’d go back anytime, if we lived closer. You want good food, you gotta pay sometimes. It did not disappoint.

Our OBX vacation in Carova Beach meant we mostly ate in, but we did plan one outing to Oceanfront Grille for a night out in Corolla Light. Their crab cakes were tasty and plentiful, but I wouldn’t say that they impressed me more than other crab cakes I’ve had. The prices high, the service lukewarm, and the food so-so, I’d come here again on vacation, but it wouldn’t be a go-to place if I had to select one. I ordered the grilled swordfish special for the night, which I did enjoy quite a bit. The vegetables and potatoes were good but not particularly standout. The biggest perk for this place is its location, of course, right on the water. Come here on vacation but without expectation that it’s going to be a 5-star experience.

Went here with my boyfriend while at his beach house in OBX. The food was ok overall, but that’s it. No substitutions for the side of starch with my crab cakes(onion rings, fries, or mashed potatoes). I wanted a salad instead, since I was going to be in a bathing suit– so I wanted to pick my battles– crab cake, worthy indulgence, however fries, not really worth it. This was not possible. Ah well. The crab cake was solid. Not awesome but not awful. My boyfriend had the petite filet and crab cake. The steak was good, but I wouldn’t recommend getting beef or chicken here… stick to what they are known for– seafood. The reason for the 2 star review and I’m not sure they could control(maybe fly paper, or call an exterminator) is the flies. Huge house flies were everywhere at the outdoor table. At one point there was 3 on my salad and 4 on my cocktail– ATTHESAMETIME! So that REALLY grossed me out. I know they’re a waterfront property, but they really should address that, especially for the prices that they are charging. I actually just stopped eating my food at one point because of all the flies.
