Excellent service, lots to choose from on the menu, all three of our dishes were excellent. We will be back to check out other menu items.

I came in highly suspicious and totally ready to judge how non-authentic this place is. Luckily, I was so wrong! We ordered: chicken phở for the little one(I appreciated that they have a half portion for $ 5.50), beef phở for a friend who said it was very flavorful, the best papaya salad of my life(pricey, but worth it — lots of big shrimp), good spring roles(standard), house fried rice(also good), and my favorite — glass noodles with chives, crab, and egg! This is definitely our go-to Vietnamese restaurant in Newport. It’s a bit pricier than the Bay Area, but not outrageously so.

Food here was very overpriced, but decent for a Vietnamese restaurant in Newport/Corona Del Mar area.

The atmosphere was very open and clean with great surface. I ordered the ahi spring rolls and instantly fell in love.

Great food! Love the garlic noodles, and both beef and chicken phở. Everything i have tried here has been great. I have taken a couple of people here as well and each thought it was great. My top recommendations are the chicken phở, garlic noodles with beef, and the chicken broccoli

I am so glad we have legit VNese in the area. This little spot is always PACKEDIN! It’s the Brodard family so you can get the same delicious nem nuong spring rolls here! My favorites are the savory crêpe«banh xeo» and the duck salad. When I have a Thai craving I get the Phuket noodle soup: a coconut creamy, spicy, sour seafood noodle soup that fixes my Asian food cravings! Only bummer is that you can’t get the sea salt Thai tea here. Only at the Château. Parking sucks. Also, come early or you will likely have a wait. When I’m busy, I order it to go and pick up had never been a problem since they have one parking spot in the yellow loading zone directly out front. Food here is consistently delicious. Good quality. Now only if they could expand!

I was there last night. The waiter discriminated me because of my race, keep telling me the other couple arrived before me even though the couple replied to the waiter twice I arrived before them. When the tables are ready, the waiter mumbling, «it does not matter who comes first, I have tables ready for everybody». He ruined my night! Other than that, the wonton soup noodles was good, I would go back for that.

Really good pad thai it’s my fave and Tom Yum soup. The egg rolls were not good, but they immediately took it back. It’s tucked away in a corner on McCarthur, but it’s cute. I recommend it for a casual dinner.

I don’t usually write a review but I read one review of a guy named Christopher C and I decided to write this review for him. Their food are decent and the service are good, they deserve 3.5 stars already. For someone who gave 1 star because the restaurant decided not to do business with door dash anymore. I find that really bullshit and hey buddy, don’t review a business base on your laziness. If you want to fill up your tummy, get out of bed and pick it up.

I love Bamboo Bistro. Everything is fresh and the flavors are amazing. My favorite is the Duck Salad. There are so many flavors it’s like an explosion of perfect in your mouth. We have ordered lots of different dishes — I especially like coming for lunch. It’s not as crowded. Their BBQ Pork Spring rolls are yummy. I bring all my friends here.

Last minute date night eats! This loses 1 star because there is no place to stand and it is such a small area. Since you can order a plate and share with your party, its very communal, which is quite fun, but I think thats why we were waiting for a while since everyone was eating for so long. This is CDM’s hidden gem and is definitely my thai spot! Such an intimate feeling. We lost ourselves easily in the flavor, the crowd and each other.

The last three times I’ve been to Bamboo Bistro and ordered Phở Ga, the broth is very diluted and it’s hard to find more than 3 pieces of chicken. New Chef maybe? I hope they fix it! The rolls are still fantastic. Came again and ordered Beef Phở with grilled pork roll. Roll was cold, soup was greasy with overlooked noodles and my water glass was dirty. They said«sorry». Bummed.

I tried this restaurant with my boss and co-worker, after they raved about this place. After experiencing it for myself, I really did enjoy this restaurant. It’s very much Asian fusion, as they have a lot of variety, and their menu is not catered to one specific type of cuisine. The parking situation is limited to say the least, but the food is well worth it. We ordered the chicken lettuce wraps, shaken beef, vegetable tom yum soup, and ahi spring rolls. I have to say everything was very tasty, but the shaken beef dish was a must-order. So delicious! Service here is great and the atmosphere is upscale. I recommend this restaurant, especially considering the prices aren’t too steep.

This night we decided that Vietnamese food would be nice, so seeking for help, we located Bamboo Bistro, a few miles from where we were staying, right in Corona Del Mar. We actually passed by it once and didn’t see it because it is a small restaurant tucked away on a corner across from a service station. It had an E. Coast Hwy address but was located on a side street. We entered the restaurant and were surprised… It was really small!!! But business was good because there was only a table for two available. So they seated us. Then, I noticed that there were a few tables situated outdoors but no one was there. The menu consisted of the usual Vietnamese dishes we liked, but also offered Thai dishes, and specialties, like King Salmon in Parchment, Chilean Sea Bass in Black Bean Sauce. On a future return visit, we would try these specialties. But, we were craving Vietnamese fare so ordered the Nem Nuong(Pork Spring Rolls). They were delicious, crunchy, and very tasty. Also, ordered the Phở Bo(Beef Noodle Soup) and the Vietnamese House Vermicelli, rice noodles with charbroiled, shrimp, chicken, and pork. Both of these dishes were wonderful and won our praise. We definitely liked this restaurant and will return because the food was excellent and the service excellent also. The servers were very attentive, friendly, and informative. Small restaurant, but large on savory dining and service.

Fusion, fun! I love that this place is Thai and Vietnamese. Their menu is quite expansive, and caters to both flavors fairly well. I came here looking for«Phở Tai» and didn’t find it. There was however«Phở Thai» their fun seafood twist/play on words, and a beef phở. I went with the beef bowl(it was Phở Bo, or Phở Bai, pardon me if I’m butchering this). The soup was supposed to have three forms of beef, for $ 12. It showed up missing one, meatballs. I ate anyways because hunger, also, it seemed to upset the staff if you asked for anything, so I did my best to not bother them too much(there was a periodically screaming child nearby, I understand). The broth was really rich and flavorful. There was a decent ratio of noodles to broth and protein too, so thanks. I feel as though I came on an «off» night or something. Perhaps another time, with spring rolls.

This place is kinda hidden. I remember going on a date like 10 year ago and we came to Bamboo Bistro and at the time i really didn’t like curry or any Asian food. The other day my wife and I were at Rogers Garden and we were starting to get Hungry and I said let gets Bamboo Bistro. She said is that the place you went on a date with the Blonde hair big boobie lady and i said yeah yeah yeah it is but the food is really good so lets go. We get down there and it’s right past MacArthur on the left side behind the Chevron Station. There is street parking on the back stretch. We got there around 1 pm on a Sunday and it was totally dead. We walked in and sat down right way. I ordered the yellow curry and my wife ordered the Chilean Sea bass curry. All i can say is there curry is outstanding. I have this new fond love for curry and i have been on a journey to find the best curry spot and this place is pretty high on my ranking. Curry rating: 9 out of 10. It’s a small cozy family restaurant which is great for a date. My wife said she really liked the food and would come back again. I am not sure about everything else they server but if you are in the mood for good ass curry come here. Thanks for reading. Matthew Y.

Bamboo Bistro is owned by the same owners as Brodard’s — if you are craving the pork spring rolls nearby, this is the place to go! I actually tried the spring rolls at both locations, and I would definitely say this one is the better tasting one. My main negativeness is with regards to my last order of the spring rolls(they made my rolls smaller than my friend’s, as it seems they ran out of the crispy filling and decided that I wouldn’t notice the lack of food in my order — this is quite a disappointment when you are excited for the spring rolls!!!) However, I have tried the filet mignon curry as well as one of their lamb based dishes. I would say that lamb is pretty good, but the curry wasn’t blow-your-mind. – I couldn’t figure out what the lamb-based dish was, but got suckered into trying the filet mignon red curry again(yay for forgetting what you don’t like) — the curry would taste awesome if they put a bit more coconut milk + sugar into it. It needs a stronger, creamier taste to it(mine was super sour) We did try the BBQ pork spring rolls and duck spring rolls to get some variety in — I will still say the Mom’s sauce is the bomb and I would stick to the house special. However, duck once in awhile can be a nice change. – I am a huge fan of their vietnamese coffee with condensed milk — really gives you a kick and is not too bitter! Ask for less ice, though — or you’ll end up with a very icy drink!

Solid Asian Fusion from… wait… what? Corona del Mar?!? Yes, you read that correctly. There really is quality Asian to be had in the Fashion Island/CdM area and we have the Brodard family of restaurants to thank for it(you have already been to the sister locations in Garden Grove and Westminster, right?). This restaurant is clearly the flagship location as both the PCH facing deck and lavish interior are far more swank then their siblings and the service is top notch. The prices are quite reasonable for the area and considering your options in Vietnamese or Thai in the area(basically none), this is a welcome addition to my CdM eating rotation. What to get? It is a great question as even the lunch menu is monstrous and although the descriptions are vague, the food is consistently excellent across the board and all of the items have a decidedly Thai or Vietnamese flair to them. The Spicy Garlic Noodle with Beef & Vegetables are my personal favorite as the umami and spicy sauce makes every bite a flavor explosion. Add the thick and perfectly Al Dente noodles and delicate chunks of Beef and you have a perfect lunch option. The Seafood version swaps out the meat with Shrimp & Calamari Steak and both variations can be had under $ 12.00. You cannot beat it people. It would be complete heresy if I forgot to mention the item that put the Brodard Family on the map to begin with: The almighty Vietnamese Spring Roll. Bamboo Bistro keeps up the tradition in a spades of realness and offers just about any protein you could imagine. Prawns, Pork, Shrimp, Vegetable, Egg… all of the usual suspects are there and flying high. Prices range from $ 8.99 to $ 10.99 and even come with a delightful choice in Soup as a companion. Again, hard to find any faults with this fare. I could write a sheaf of essays on Bamboo Bistro’s lunch menu alone but it will suffice to say you will be hard pressed to find a dish you will not delight in. I would recommend getting there early if you are looking for lunch as the parking is tight to say the least and the restaurant fills up quickly. Bamboo Bistro, thank you for your very existence.

Just had lunch here today and I was delighted to find that they have Shirataki noodle options. So I ordered the Phở Bo with Shirataki tofu noodles. YUM! Now I can finally eat Phở guilt free and not anticipate a 3 p.m. glucose crash. I really hate carbs and wish more restaurants would allow for this substitution. The Phở Bo was pretty good. The broth was not too memorable, but the filet mignon was. And, there was plenty of it and nice and medium rare. I couldn’t finish all the brisket, but it was too dry anyway. Still can’t get over how much meat there was. Must have been a mistake? LOL! My friend had the coconut curry soup. WOW! It was more than a meal. So rich and filling. More like a chowder than Tom Kha soup. And, the Nem Nuong was just like Brodard, obviously. The ambiance is very nice and a step up from our usual work lunch places. Almost felt like we were on a date. lol! We came at 11:40ish and we just narrowly missed the rush. I agree that the prices are a bit high for lunch($ 18 mango salad w/prawn) and even higher on some of the fish dishes, i.e. $ 25. I can’t wait to come back and maybe try some of specialty spring rolls, curry, and the Bahn Xeo.
