Nekter Juice Bar

I love Nekter but unfortunately, not all locations are created equal. This location however provides great service quickly and accurately.

This is a premium acai bowl destination. The recipe is simple and delicious. I like to get the acai banana berry bowl. Sometimes the portions and toppings are a little on the smaller side, but it always satisfies. What prompted me to write this review was the excellent customer service I received from Lily, also having prepared probably the best fruit bowl I’ve had yet. Thank you!

Nekter in CdM has a friendly staff. They have a turnover quite often, but they’re helpful and will make any changes to your order that you request. I used to get the popeye’s acai smoothie (açaí, banana, spinach, vanilla cashew milk, and agave nectar), but have recently been getting the tropical cooler (spinach, kale, pineapple, banana, coconut butter, and coconut water). Both are so good. As far as the juices, the little beet is not sweet enough for me. The buzz is good if you like carrots, but I made the mistake of getting it without ice. Don’t make that mistake no matter how cool it might be outside! The toxin flush (parsley, spinach, apple, lemon, and ginger) is my favorite juice and seems to be the favorite of many people. The acai banana berry bowls are good. The pitaya bowl is good if you want something a little tart.

The employees at this location are so incredibly friendly and welcoming. The second I walked in, I was already greeted and told to let them know if I have any questions.
I’ve only had Nekter twice, and I love it. It really makes me wish I wasn’t allergic to fruits. This new allergy of mine is something I acquired a few years ago, but I can still enjoy some green juice! I’ve even tried the health nut smoothie with pineapple instead of banana. Soo good, but I had to limit myself since I really shouldn’t have gotten it.

Every morning I look forward to have my green juice and protein smoothie at Nekter.
Kelley is the manager in CDM and she is amazing. All the kids who work there are awesome. They make you feel welcomed from the time you open the door to the time they handle your order.
I have been going there since I moved to NB and all that I can say is: I can’t live without them :)

I’m a huge fan of Nektar, but I had a really bad experience at this specific location. My go to drink is the Chocolate Dream and for some reason, there were inedible tiny little rock hard chunks in mine (like the size of little tiny pebbles). I really don’t know what they were but I thought maybe they were the seeds of the dates, and maybe they got into the blender? Well by the time I realized it wasn’t just one little chunk, but tons all throughout the drink, we had driven too far to turn back.
I’ll stick to the West Hollywood and Westwood locations in the future, where I’ve never had problems with this drink!

This place can have a seriously long wait so order online and pick up if you know your order. I usually prefer to make my own and it doesn’t appear you can do that on the online order system though. You can customize by adding things but you cannot remove ingredients online.
The best options off the menu imo are the toxin flush, the greenie or the Pb bowl which could easily be shared by two people. If you add ice to your drink they will put it into the larger sized glass.
Friendly service today and the line wasn’t too bad which was nice. These seem pretty consistent from location to location.

I got a 16oz juice today and I didn’t even get to scan the app for the rewards program :(the cashier said there was no way for me to get the rewards bc I forgot to tell her I had the app until after I paid for my drink???

The staff here and juice selection are great.
I’m giving it a 4 star instead of 5 due to the limited parking along PCH. The calories are printed on the drink display, which is good for the more health conscience. The pricing of a juice is similar to a take out much, but the health benefits are great.

Love Nektar. The service at this location is better. There are better options in CDM where veggies and fruits they use is actually organic.

This review is overdue as I have been meaning to give this place their props! I’m a CDM local and they have treated me so well for a few years now.
They recently brought in a new juice which I’m super pumped on, the health nut. I recommend that one along with the popeye and their classic, the greenie. Make sure you order all your drinks with no agave!
Thought they have had a lot of turnover, the core employees are still there and the manager Matt has done a pretty good job of making sure the vibe stays welcoming. I work in the customer service industry and I know how tough it is to get youngsters in line at times, so I respect that the manager hasn’t let this stores service slip. Every time I come in the employees are smiling, friendly, and in a good mood. They eventually even remember your order, which goes a long way. I’ve been here many many times before and I always feel good walking in. The Juice is good, but in a place like Corona Del Mar that has very high expectations from businesses, the service is what keeps people coming back. It’s what separates your business from another and nekter does a great job of executing that. I am a daily juice dude and will stay loyal to this shop for these reasons.
I bow down to this place. Good juice, phenomenal service, and always a cute girl working.

Pros of Nekter: healthy, variety of choices, delicious. Cons of Nekter: parking, noise, long wait, wobbly tables. I love Nekter but I don’t love the wait I always seem to encounter even when no one else is in the store! I’m a big fan of the acai bowls and the berry smoothie, but wish I could get in and out a bit faster!

The PB BOWL is DELICIOUS! I make my bowls a «Greenie» bowl because I want to get more veggie servings in at the same time. It is still suuuper yummy! I LOVE PEANUT BUTTER! haha
I would used to always get the berry bowl. I’ve gotten the pitaya bowl one other time and both bowls are very good. I’ve always wanted to try the PB bowl, so I finally decided to order it the last time I was at Nektar. The friendly lady working behind the counter told me the peanut butter bowl was delicious when I asked her if I should order the berry bowl or the peanut butter bowl. And I am soo glad I decided to order the peanut butter bowl. I don’t even taste the greenie inside it. The peanut butter also gives the bowl a little creamy texture.
The PB bowl is going to be my new staple there. I love how everything at Nektar is healthy too. I would totally get snacks there to munch on later. Their juices seem to all be beneficial for your body and/​or health as well.
I’ve tried their 3 day cleanse last summer and it was great! They give you 6 bottles of different juices a day and each juice is specifically numbered for you to drink at a certain time from breakfast thru dinner. With all the juices I had to drink, I didn’t really feel hungry. But boy, did I miss food! I would give the juice cleanse a try for 3 days, since I heard your skin starts feeling and looking better and you also feel more energized. The juice cleanse was not for me though because I LOVE FOOD! haha I’d rather eat clean ;)

I really like this place. Ive tried a lot of their drinks and theyre pretty good. Their acai bowls are a lot better though!
When the line is long (5 – 7 people), the wait is long. This is because the person taking the order is very slow… It seems like people quit a lot because the faces are always new and they are always slow.
This place is pretty expensive, so just get the bowls if you want to try this place out!

I am a «Greenie» fan – get with ice.
Friendly, hard-​working staff.
Occasionally, a covert street person will swipe your juice/​order off the counter, so save your receipt. This only happens during busy times if there’s a long line, you order, then go next door to use the SB restroom.
Clientele ranges from sweet and kind to unnecessarily snotty. I am noticing a lot more homeless around CDM – real pros who also snag coffees when unsuspecting locals are waiting for lattes. The rich snd the poor.

Coming from a town with basically no fresh juice bars I would probably be impressed by even the worst juice bars but I thought Nekter was pretty good! Really nice and helpful staff. Very quick service. I thought their prices were quite fair and even cheap when you use the check in offer on Unilocal!Their juice is a little heavy on the apple for me so I would probably ask them if they can customize the fresh juices at all. With all the machines going in there it is pretty loud though so not a great place to linger… just grab and go!

Fresh apple juice is the best thing since sliced bread. Unfortunately the fresh apple juice at Nekter was not up par, a different choice of apples would not be a bad idea. Also, would appreciate it if the glass was filled full with juice, not 60% juice and 40% foam.

This location and the one in Brea actually fill up your bowl and give you decent portions of fruit unlike the one on La Palma in Anaheim Hills. None of the smoothie choices really appeal to me so my rating is only based on their bowls. I would prefer an acai bowl place that gives me a create your own bowl option with a range of toppings but Nekter has a preset menu that is definitely delicious but a bit limited in toppings. If I go to Nekter, it’s because I’m craving one thing and one thing only: the banana berry bowl. It’s delicious, filling and a bit on the pricey side but the quality is evident. That alone keeps me coming back.

ROTTEN juices that i DRANK for a whole day before i realized.
i have done the 3-​day cleanses a few times here.
1^st time: loved it.
2^nd time: the dates between my juices were a few weeks apart, so I knew that some juices were not fresh, or even made within the week, but i felt ok.
3^rd time: 4 out of 6 juices EVERY DAY were OVER 2 weeks expired. I didn’t realize it until my cousin who did the cleanse with me called me and told me her juices were expired. I looked at my empty bottles. yep. i drank at least month old juice for a whole day.
the cabbage one always tastes like sh! t so i figured that was normal. nope. rancid.
it is so hard to get customer service resolved as the locations don’t have direct phone lines, so you have to call the corporate office and leave a message and wait for someone to call back. I didn’t have time to drive all the way back to corona del mar after i went to work so I threw the rest away.
for the $, that’s some real bullsh! t.

Tip: They have switched over to stamp cards.
Tight, Tight, Tight! — 3 reasons:
1. The location is near the Starbucks on the corner… so don’t blink because you might miss it. Haha. I had to do a «double take» and make a U-​turn at the next street.
2. The parking is tight. I recommend parking on the residential street and walk over.
3. The store is very narrow. Only 2 tables inside with 2 – 3 chairs at each table. Then, there’s a «bar» type seating facing the window to look out into the streets.
I always appreciate the super friendly staff. They always have big smiles and even while they’re making the drinks they seem so happy to serve the customers. I really appreciate this aspect at Nekter because it really does make a HUGE difference as the customer. When I see employees enjoying their work, I look forward to my drink and I don’t have to worry about, «did they put it all the ingredients? is the amount proportional?» Even though the employee has made similar drinks all day long, I still want «my» drink to be made with 100% attention and care as the first drink made.
