The Summer House is what you think of when you think of classy casual beach eats. The décor is adorable, the colors are inviting, and the service was excellent. Food was good too. My friend ordered their brie burger which was massive and looked amazing. I am not a fan of brie so I did not try, but my friend, who is known for leaving leftovers, devoured almost the entire thing. I ordered their fish and chips. Again, the portions were huge, the fish wasn’t oily, and was nice and flaky. I’m not a fan of shoestring fries, but compared to others these were pretty good.

I go to Summerhouse all of the time and have never been let down. I work right by it so I always place an order for pick up and even with their To Go orders are always excellent. I tried their weekend breakfast today and I had the French toast. It was great and the fruit on the top was fresh and delicious.

My favorite place to eat in the neighborhood. Great vibes and great staff. Always super attentive and very nice. The menu is great as well. The food is always consistent and fresh. Big plates with plenty of food. Sharing is key if you get apps to start. The poke, potstickers, and the bacon Mac n cheese are my go to starters. The Asian slaw is always really fresh and crunchy. My go to dinner/lunch is the blta. They never short you on bacon. The ahi sandwich is really good too. Great bar too! Can’t forget the speciality drinks. Ladies love the pomegranate martini. Overall, definitely worth the trip if your in the neighborhood. Especially if your looking for something casual but want a solid meal. Can’t wait to go back!

Came for Newport Beach restaurant week! $ 20 for 3 course dinner. Cute little restaurant, fun vibe. I’m got the chicken gyoza which were good– normal cooked gyoza. Friend of Caesar salad. Nice start. Our main course got to the table before we were done with our apps. We both ordered the salmon with Asian slaw. The slaw was the same as on the chicken & veggie gyoza. Salmon was well cooked! Like the crunch on the fish. I would have liked a little more of the sauce on the salmon but just right portion size. As for dessert, we both ordered the lemon & cream shortcake! Yum! I saw the review but the cake was moist, tart & lemony! Yum! Soo good! Service was good! Could definitely see going back!

Came here for restaurant week dinner on a friend’s choosing. Wasn’t too hungry so I was just going to order something small off the menu until I realized how much of a deal you get with the restaurant week menu. Hey, can’t pass up a good deal right? That’s like throwing away money! CHICKEN&VEGETABLEPOTSTICKERS: These were cooked perfectly with a crispy skin on the outside and juicy portions of meat on the inside. Can’t go wrong with these! GINGERCRUSTEDFRESHONO: The crusted portion of the fish was divine but the cut of fish was so thick that when you take a bite, the beautiful crust is quickly washed away by the larger inside, bland part of the fish. I ended up just picking at the outer pieces wishing there was more. If the fish was half as thick and maybe was served in two pieces, that would have been perfect. LEMONANDCREAMCAKE: Tart and dry. I have had better tasting cake at Ralph’s. Not trying to knock on Ralph’s bakery or anything, but just saying… they shouldn’t be graded on the same scale. The venue is small and very tight. If you are a large person, this may pose a problem in fitting into your seat. There was no moving your chair back where I sat, I literally just slid between the table and chair to get to my seat and was glad I didn’t weigh a few pounds more! The bathrooms are public and located outside the restaurant around the corner. I have been watching a lot of Criminal Minds so walking alongside a dingy alley, across a partially opened janitor’s closet was not my favorite part of the night. If you come here for restaurant week, I say it’s a great deal. Aside from that, maybe give them a shot for brunch is it looks like that may be their specialty.

Really solid spot for brunch and pretty good for dinner options as well for Newport Beach restaurant week. First of all, if you come after 5PM, there’s spots in the back parking lot that you can park in. I’d recommend turning from PCH onto Goldenrod to get here. If you can’t find a spot in the back, there’s plenty of spots on neighboring streets you can maneuver your parallel parking powers through. My boyfriend and I came here at 6:30PM on a Friday night for dinner. We both ordered off the restaurant week menu. For $ 20 per person, you can get an appetizer(salad, soup, or the asian-style gyozas), an entrée, and a dessert of either a lemon cake slice or a chocolate strawberry(just one). My boyfriend ordered the Caesar salad which was decent in my opinion, but nothing super special. I was, however, a fan of the gyozas as an appetizer. For entrees, he ordered the salmon which was delicious and I ordered the bbq pulled pork sandwich which was also amazing. We ordered one of each of the desserts and it was pretty solid. Also — their fries are the little shoestring kinds and were pretty yummy! Service here was busy since it was a Friday night when we came but they followed up on food and drinks for us and were very friendly. Next time, I’d love to come sit in the little couple alcove spot facing PCH. Romantic, cute, and quaint spot for decently priced American food.

I have never given a 5 star rating once yet and I want to. Yet in my mind a 5 star would be a perfect experience. This place was darn near close. The ambiance is unique and quaint in an old residential home. The place is bright and airy. The service was top notch. I was greeted immediately and offered a table in the first 20 seconds of waking in. The booths are comfortable and steak knives are sharp. I had the wedge salad and the homemade turkey chili. The wedge was perfect. The bacon was hick cut and properly cooked. The chili was a good consistency. I personally have found turkey chili to be tough to achieve the right flavor. This chili was thick and hearty and good on the spices. My only suggestion would be less tomatoes and more meat. My son has the island chicken and I tasted ever element. The pineapple and bell pepper hash was a good flavor compliment to the chicken. Loved it. If I didn’t live in Las Vegas, I would frequent this place weekly. What a great find!

I do not have one bad thing to say about this place. We went there for the first time tonight and we both had the Ono which was the best ever. The Caesar salad and the pot stickers were excellent appetizers as well. The waiter and even the busboy were friendly and fun. I only wish it was closer to my home so I could go more often.

I wish I had more time here to come back and eat 4 more meals. Fish tacos are as good as I’ve ever had. Great pour on the drink too. I started a conversation with the owner, super nice guy and he ends up giving me a bottle of hot sauce we talked about. I have no idea why anyone would ever give this place less than 5 stars. Try it out, this place is great!

We called 10 minutes ahead to see if they could accommodate our party of 14, and they did so. We came in, the waitress was prompt, she got us everything we needed and was very friendly and patient. The food was a great portion and phenomenal. Definitely stop in if you’re around. We were all satisfied and treated very well. Definitely coming again and recommending this place to everyone.

And all those things I didn’t say Wrecking balls inside my brain I will scream them loud tonight Can you hear my voice this time at… SUMMERHOUSE! — Rachel Platten(fight song) We came here after running along the beach so needless to say, I was ready to eat something healthy and refreshing. They have parking in the back so you don’t have to park on the busy street. It was a Sunday afternoon so it was extremely crowded — which meant the restaurant was quite loud. If you’re here for brunch or some drinks — its a fun atmosphere but maybe a little too loud if you just want to relax and enjoy your food. I ordered the salmon caesar salad and she got the grilled chicken summer salad — which were both great options. I have nothing bad I can say about the food. Service seemed a little disjointed and at least from what I saw the day I was there, it was quite sloppy. We had a waitress come take our initial drink orders and then another came a few mins later asking us again so it wasn’t as if she was replacing someone on break. Maybe just a hectic time but I would imagine it’s always like that given their location and popularity with the local crowd. If you don’t mind the noise and seemingly crowded restaurant with the bar people overflowing into the dining area, you’ll have some good food. Cheers!

I like it here. :) The food is not particularly exceptional but the décor here is lovely. It is a petite restaurant close to the beach and the main entrance is open to PCH which brings lots of air and lights. There are a few narrow parking spots in the back of the restaurant. Coming here before dinner time is also breezy as there are not too many people yet. The servers are friendly and fast. The restaurant is pet friendly which is a big plus. You can sit at a counter table facing PCH with your fluffy baby. I enjoy their champagne with berries ;) they are delish and pretty to look at on the table. :) A nice spot in Corona Del Mar I can always count on. :-)

The Summer House is a locals favorite for so many reasons… great food, great bar to have a glass of wine at & the most amazing staff EVER! They are not only good to us they are incredible to whomever we send over… this restaurant is sure to be your weekly favorite too! Even their food is freshly delivered each & every day! Doesn’t get better than that! Great place to be around other nice people while eating yummy food! & there’s even a couple tvs which always have the crowd favorite on. If Cdm had a Cheers this would be it! Not to mention Nicole & Bobby(the owners but shhhh don’t tell them I told you!) rock & they make sure that everyone has a great experience no matter what they have to do! Never heard a local say anything negative about this place, nor will you! ps Try the amazing margarita, fresh lime juice makes this the best in Cdm!

I came here for a quick lunch. The place had a great view and was filled with Sunday brunchers. I wasn’t extremely hungry so I ordered the ahi poke appetizer. It was a too sweet for my liking although the tuna itself was fresh. I got to try a bite of the calamari which was also sweet and soggy from the juices. The French toast was good!

One of the best places to stop in weather your’e passing through or a local. Great food, service and ambience. I have been going ever since they opened for business. NEVER disappointed. The best Mojitos by «Homero» and they have this amazing bus boy. Everyone is always on their game and so friendly and you can tell they are enjoying themselves at work. A must to try: the side of Macaroni and cheese. Their entire menu is A plus.

Bloody Mary’s were good. Not homemade mix but the heavy pour made up for it! Fish tacos had a nice flakey texture, not overcooked. Although the presentation was messy. Turkey chili was not very good. Too much cumin and not enough turkey. I did appreciate it coming out hot. The staff was nice and it’s a cute place but they opted not to turn in the AC which was very uncomfortable in the 90 degree weather.

Long-overdue second visit, ordered the exact same 3 items to-go. As we love CDM beach, we will be stopping by here more often on the way. I must say, their Brie Burger is one of my favorite burgers of all time, right up there with Ruby’s Super-burger and of course the classic In-N-Out Double-Double. You might be thinking brie’s meant for crackers not burgers, and the thought of a pungent cheese just wouldn’t jive with with a beef patty. To that I ask, haven’t you seen blue cheese crumbles in a burger before? Well this is better yo! You might also be thinking, arugula’s bitter. How can that palatably replace lettuce in a burger. Once again, this burger will defy your doubts and stun your senses. The accompanying thin fries are just how I like em. Their three cheese Mac N Cheese was also a delight and rounded off our lunch well. Friendly down-to-earth folks who greeted me and rang me up. Not what I expected in such a ritzy area hehe.

My friend and I brought the dog I’m watching for my friend down to Summer House on a Sunday afternoon for some lunch. The hostess immediately offered us the patio area, provided water for the dog and closed the patio doors for us so that he could roam around in the enclosed space. Our server greeted us in a friendly and personable manner and immediately provided some waters for us. The menu is about a page long and the back page shows their drink options — wine, beer, etc. I went for the French dip sandwich and my friend ordered the ahi sandwich. Our food was brought out in no more than 10 minutes during which time we got to people watch and enjoy the afternoon sun. My sandwich and fries were delicious! The fries were thinly cut, crispy and full of flavor. The sandwich bun was soft and went well with the tasty roast beef and dip. My friend really enjoyed his sandwich as well. We were perfectly satisfied by the end of our meal and were really pleased with the service. I’ve been here before for brunch and remember my omelette being really tasty as well. This place has a casual and welcoming ambience and is a great place for a Sunday lunch!
